This is my favorite of the Cornetto trilogy. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were hilarious together. And Timothy Dalton was a great villain.

After watching Shaun of the Dead to death I wasn't so sure they could top it but man...what a movie. Infinitely quotable, fun and amazing cast. Truly an instant classic. Every time I watch it I find another small detail that I didnt notice that is very much intentional.

I don’t get how someone who has watched the movie could get this so wrong. It’s literally said out loud multiple times in the film.
It’s almost as if the guy reading this out hasn’t actually seen the movie and somebody else watched and wrote this.
I’ve noticed this in a few other videos this channel makes where they pronounce stuff said in the movie totally wrong as if they had only ever seen it written down.
Watch the Dune review for example.

    • @_Stroda
      @_Stroda 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@ollyrukes Hah. I mean, a lot of the time Americans seem to go for an almost phonetic pronunciation of British place names, which is understandable, but this wasn't even that. It was like he glanced over the word and then said whatever came to mind.

I don't use this word a lot but this film is a masterpiece. But I've done a lot of research into this film, and it is so deep, with so many threads layed down and payed off. The script for this film is one of the best ever written. You pile an incredible cast on top of it and the foundation is all there for a film of the ages.

Another movie with Simon pegg and nick Frost is Slaughter House Rulez !
Also, not pegg and frost together, but if you do like their humour I thoroughly recommend these 4 movies -
Run fat boy run - just Simon pegg
To win back ex years later after leaving her pregnant at the alter, he decides to run the London marathon. downside? He's unfit and never committed to anything before.
How to lose friends and alienate people - Just Simon Pegg
He attempts to climb the media corporate ladder to be am important socialite, but, at what cost?
Attack the block - just Nick Frost
Inner city thugs defend their tower block from an alien invasion.
Note - the aliens are based on dark beast from another world video game. Also co stars a very young star wars actor
Cuban Fury - Just Nick Frost
He quits being a salsa dancer after being Bullied as a kid, years later, he finds new passion for salsa to woo his new Latin American boss.

As a servicing UK police officer, Hot Fuzz is genius in multiple levels. The amount of things they got ‘spot on’ about UK policing is amazing. Plenty of inside jokes for officers even down to the towns name of ‘Sandford’. It was an amazing experience.

I was unaware that this guy was the director of Last Night in Soho. Which was a descent horror type noire. I had to really pay attention, and then realized at the end it was the old woman she was renting from, and it was that particular the girl was renting that had the ghosts of the men that she murdered. It wasn't the best, but it was serviceable. And I did enjoy it, once it got through the slow burn. It's a descent flick.

Never thought of Hot Fuzz as a spoof. More like an action comedy. The premise is crazy. A small town full of murderous people trying to keep their village “clean”. Pegg riding into town on the horse armed to the gills is fantastic and Frost was the perfect co-star. Watching this after GOT and realizing that the hound played the mentally handicapped grocery store worker always cracks me up.

*Very good movie. It was UNIQUE (something seldom-if-ever said in this cookie-cutter trope-ish world). Mixing genres, the choice of antagonists, the setting, and the action was extremely good, "for a comedy". I want to see more of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. I'm not sure what they would come up with, but I'm sure it will be worthwhile.*
