Last year I fixed the button with help of this video and it lasted about 10 months. Now I could fix it again because I remembered the steps. I can't say thanks often enough!

Dead battery. You can find replacements. Look for model number in tiny print on back or bottom.

My power button was inop. I opened it up and the shim was nowhere to be found. So I tried alfoil and power button still wouldn't press in and out. I realised the actual power button underneath the shim (part of the ribbon etc.) was inop instead. I found replacement part of the whole ribbon which includes audio headphone port and new buttons which is a complete assembly on ebay for $10 aud.

I've watched so many videos on how to do this, it makes me sad that I can't just pop the button off and put a dollop or rubber on the copper disc from the top. :(

I got mine last week (brandew sealed from Ebay) and i just opened it yesterday. The problem is when i was going to turn on the ipod nano 6th gen, it would power so i knew maybe bcoz its been stock for a decade already coz it is sealed it is untouched so i think maybe the battery is drained. So i charged it and leave it for about 20mins. And then i pulled it out to the charger and tryin to turn it on but the power button aint working then i insert again the power cable or charger and the screen turned on and i try to press the power button and its working everytime i press the power button the screen turns off/on. Now when i pulled out the charger in it and try to press the power button to wake up the screen its not working again. Then i reinsert the charge or power cable and pressing the power button its working again. Whats the problem on my ipod 6th? I havent connected my ipod on laptop for updates of the system of the ipod. Help me please

  • @Philjj61

Do not use metal anything on circuit boards with a battery/power hooked up, and these Nano's don't turn off. Very bad idea amongst an otherwise good tutorial.

All I did was slide my thumbnail under the corner, barely, and to make sure it was still okay, I plugged it in to turn it on. the screen is white and won't do anything.
