I went to Italy FIVE years ago and kept using simple phrases in Italian while in France 😣. By the end of the week, when we were heading to London, I was finally getting used to simple phrases in French. My husband has traveled much more than I, he’s much more comfortable than I. However, towards the end of our Paris trip, my son had to stay in due to his epilepsy and meds. I was by myself with him and needed to ask for a couple of towels. I asked in French the best I could and the lady was kind and responded as quickly as she could. After that, I had more confidence. So, I would recommend people remember issues will arise, so, do your best to learn the basics.
Lots of comments telling her to speak slower.. you can slow the speed of your video. It helps A LOT sometimes. If you don’t know how to, TH-cam it. There’s a tutorial 😉

I try to remember to say after my question: "sil vous plait, Monsieur parlez lentement ? Je ne parle pas la Francaise" . Sometimes it helps :)
