Great video to watch just before I go to work! Phil has been posting a video series on his Bandai X wing, and now you've done the Fine Molds version. I have a bunch of different Bandai X Wings in my stash, including the Revell/Fine Molds kit. Makes me want to dig one out and build it!

The rear and side/rear cockpit windows are much bigger on the Finemolds than on the Bandai X-Wing, and that is very close to the original ILM models. It makes more sense, as you could hardly see anything out of the rear of the Bandai... The Vader fighter is also much smaller by Finemolds than the Bandai one: If the Bandai "scale" for those is accurate, then regular Tie Fighters would be somewhere over 40 feet tall... It seems to me the Finemolds scaling make more sense and their models are also more accurate, but maybe someone out there knows more...

Nice job! but easier masking and painting all those red and yellow stripes instead of fighting with those decals and better results just use decals as templates;)

    I'll be honest --
There's one thing about paint jobs of all this X-wing design that I never like.
It's the canopy sill. It's too blue for that fighter and sticks out far too much. I think it should be a medium-light gray or dirty, darker off-white color
It may be less "screen accurate" or "accurate to the photos of the original shooting miniature" but I think it would look better.
Just a personal opinion. People can paint these things however they want.
Remember, it wasn't recently someone convinced me the Klingon battlecruisers WERE painted green. They sure didn't look that way onscreen most of the time!
The only green Klingon battlecruisers I saw were the Bird of Prey/Star Trek III, IV, V, VI and all the TNG-era designs. Yes, the D-7 and K'tinga were painted green (originally; the K'tinga was repainted in tan colors for Star Trek VI) but they sure didn't photograph that way on film when they were lit.

I don't worry too much about the exactness of the colors. Too many things affect how we see colors. The lighting, color of the surrounding objects, the screen you're looking at is not giving you a true representation. So I just paint them the best I can.
