5:37 - yo, I'm no kid and I could get nightmares from those images. xD Seems like a really complex and creepy game. And the developers had a thing for arms :D Thanks for the video! =)
Hahaha you know what, this must be so subjective. I loved the artwork and found it captivating and unsettling, but never that scary... but then I'm a total wuss when it comes to other things. Turn out the lights and play some creepy sounds (Subnautica, anyone??) and you'll find me curled in a ball on the floor 🤣
Haha I mean why not, as a couple they seem to have all the resources they need; if players want more it’s cool that they can give it to them. Just no more for me, but I do look forward to see what they come up with for their next game!
I watched this review after my first full playthrough: Maybe it's just me, but I felt a bit underwhelmed yet slightly intrigued for more. This game is very polarising for each individual as far as I can tell. Regardless, I'll do another few playthroughs because that's clearly how the game works... I feel like it's by design that the player gets to mess around subsequently. ... I dunno, this game is an enigma. 😅
Thanks so much!! I really appreciate the words, this is the sort of thing that keeps me at it :) I plan to keep at it, so hopefully you keep enjoying them 🙏
@@CasualGamr i had actually came from scarlet hollow and learned about stp from there scarlet hollow is not really talked about much which is a shame considering how good it is i hope more people give it a shot due to the success of stp there is a free demo on steam of the first part of the game. p.s there are currently a total of 4 parts out at the moment with a planned total of 7 with part 5 suppose to come out some time this year
I love how much art is in this coming from a person who has developed games in this genre by myself, and the branches in every storyline is incredibly impressive cause VN‘s usually do not offer that much diversions cause it takes so much time to write and depict them all. But at the same time, it kinda feels like the game kinda lost an overarching structure of plot. This is why i often argue that there should be some locked routes in these games that you‘d only unlock if you know enough. It feels like it‘s missing some finale cause the endings all are kinda underwhelming imo. For a game so much about what makes life in the face of suffering worth it vs the argument for eternity and absence of meaning, it‘s endings seem so unsatisfying to me. There should be more of a fight. More of an argument between ur character and the Princess and also the Narrator. It just needed a stronger ending imo. You don‘t go through so many routes with sending it off with a whimper instead of a boom. Also another gripe, hand god princess really annoyed me. The way she always talked like a pseudo intellectual was making me roll my eyes. I get it. She‘s an entity akin to a god. An agent of chaos. But for a game so determined to make it about a very human thing aka human relationships, the god version of her seems utterly insufferable to me. At least the narrator and the mc was witty and human. But the princess god came off like a 14 year old trying to sound deep and all knowing. It just felt pretentious.

So funny thing, they’re planning on adding more routes, just cause. Why not. More trauma
Hahaha, i guess gamers are just suckers for more punishment 😅

Finally some more coverage of this game! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the twists and turns of the story ❤❤

« It never really strays into something that would give a kid nightmares »
As a former child. I have to disagree on that.
Haha I guess we all have different perspectives on what gave us nightmares as a kid! It was the intro to Ghostbusters that did it for me 🫣
That sounds really cool - how many hours did you end up sinking into it by the end?
Good question! I think it was about the ten to twelve hour mark that I started to lose the vibe 😢 and then played a couple of hours beyond that...
As an absolute scardy cat who really wants to play this I'm going to have nightmares for days
I'm always terrified by the potential of a jumpscare
An amazing review, as the bunch of the other videos on this channel, how is that you just have 5K subscribers?! +1 more from me!

have you played their other game scarlet hollow if not you should it's great even if not fully complete yet
I actually hadn’t seen any of Abby or Tony Howard’s work before this, Black Tabby Games or otherwise! So thank you very much for the suggestion 🙏

@@CasualGamrI can absolutely second this recommendation
The endings i got left me feeling unfilfilled
