i'm not against guns but to say "a criminal can't get a serialized gun" is just ignorant, a criminal doesn't have to have a criminal record to commit a crime, so they can legally own a gun. not only that, just by guns being in the market, criminals will have easier access to them, not in a legal manner, just the mass production of guns can put them in the hands of criminals. its a thing you have to accept when you have legal fire arms. does banning guns prevent gun crime? slightly but not entirely, the bigger thing to point out, making guns illegal now, in a country the size of the USA will just leave guns in the hands of criminals. i think gun safety and control should be something taught in the US education system. a reformed system could be a better move, like restricting the amount of certain fire arms you can own, like a limit on pistols and certain rifles, a limit on how much ammo one can purchase at a time. i'm never an advocate for banning something as it can make it more dangerous, i think education and rules for people to be sensible is what is needed. guns have a range of uses, entertainment, home protection, self protection, hunting. a doctor gives us enough medication to kill someone, he doesn't give you too much though and we are given rules on how to take these medications. people abuse them, people sell them on, people make fake versions, we don't ban the drugs, we allow each person to take responsibility. a ridiculous stock pile of AR and hand gun, weaponry and ammo, is certainly not needed but owning a few hunting rifles and shotguns makes sense, as you'll want different guns and ammo for different game. this is just an opinion, not trying to upset any gun fanatics lol.
You know what's worse than being ignorant? Not being able to accurately quote what was said in a video you're watching. Especially when you can rewind and even play the video at a slower speed in order to accurately quote what was said. As for the rest of your comment... I read through it quickly. The one thing I'll take the time to say is: Trying to limit the amount of each type of firearm someone can own will do basically nothing for gun crimes. And the government won't just settle. They will come for one, then another, and another. Next thing you know you'll be like Canada, if you're "lucky".
@jonyemm well I'm not american or Canadian, in my country, there's no law on how many fire arms you can own but there are restrictions on the type. We can own semi auto rifles with no mag restrictions, as long as they shoot under .22lr. Hand guns are illegal, and have been since the 90s, we haven't had much of a fire arms issue. While some laws may be more strict here than over there, things like a 100 round AR, in many states, is illegal, but we clearly don't have the same issues. The problem with people like you lot, you think once you purchased a gun, it's become attached to your body. It's not about your day to day stick up kid, it's about mass spree guys, which about 70% all acquired the guns legally. I have never stated it stops gun crime, it hasn't even stopped it in my country, I don't think banning guns out right will stop it either, but my point was most people with guns you have to worry about, have legally purchased them. Sorry I upset you, Mr gun nut.

The bullet diameter of the 17 is 5/100th of an inch smaller, and about half the weight in grains. It has 5 times the powder though. The .17HMR travels at 2500fps at the muzzle and the .22LR travels at 1000fps at the muzzle. Apparently neither of our government officials know anything about firearms or ballistics. I appreciate your opinion, don't think limiting firearms would work, but I do appreciate the honest discourse.
