@@josecarlosxyz How? Let's see. You take a person with a mental health condition and ignore treating that. You try to solve that issue by triggering the problem further. Then you mix in a "Designer" who consistently ignores what her clients wishes and then you walk away with no plan for aftercare. Yup, this is really helpful.
i dont actually think its a bad idea...just becasue having a clean home that actually looks lke a home, will hopefully be enough to give his partner the impetus to put her foot down and refuse to allow him to bring in more tat. He wont stop the hoarding otherwise, regardless of therapy. You can tell by his behaviour at the sale. No intention of changing anything. Would be interested in a follow-up in a year. Am not convinced the problem was addressed, let alone solved. Merely getting rid of a hoarder's "stuff" is not a cure!
I could never live in that apartment the way it was re-decorated. Yes, this couple most definitely needed counselling in addition to help selling things, and third priority should be a redesign. I hope they did check beforehand if any of those things were truly collectable - some of those items which were small perhaps could have been stored at a different location while they were being offered for sale online. But Stewart really needs some type of therapy to get to the root of his problem! Perhaps he had an extremely deprived childhood, and is trying to compensate by purchasing expensive things. I could never feel at home in that place. The fireplace she had installed has no purpose. It would have been much better if it at least had an electric or gas fire! Did the designer even consult with them about their colour preferences or style?
I agree. At least put the sofa in front of the fireplace and then use the other half of the room for a lovely dining table and chairs, which can double as laptop workspace, etc. 👍

I wonder if the decorator saw the hoard and expected more money in the budget than she ended up with, and maybe she had actually intended to install a gas fireplace. If the couple is living paycheque to paycheque, they may have not authorized all the funds go to decorating, either. As for style, fashion differs in different parts of the world. I'm from Canada and I don't think that's "hip" here, but maybe it is there. Not sure how a floating shelf fulfills the need for a vanity, though.
how shallow this man must be that material things mean so much to him. Stuart thinks it is funny, when it is actually tragic. Why the moose, 'Anna's makeup shelf ' with not even a mirror and chair, and why couldn't they get a proper fireplace , a decent old one from a reclamation yard. They have beautiful ones for great prices which would increase the value of the home.
For this show to have any real effect, they need to add a professional mental health person to the team. These people are not equipped to deal with the real problem behind hoarding and over buying. As for the decor, wouldn’t a dining table or at least an electrical fire place made more sense?
At 36th minutes, when she takes the credit/debit cards, you can see his eyes moving and his little smile that he is thinking about all the other solutions he put in place to buy more stuff without anybody knowing 🤣
Stewart is delusional. I don’t think he’s changed. Visit him again in 7 months. I bet he’s back in the same position. Everything seems like it’s a joke to him.
The best part was how happy his girlfriend was after the redesign of the apartment. With an improved relationship, maybe all the "stuff" will be less important.

And I like the kitchen, but the bedroom is awful. I couldn't stand having someone else decorate my home. Time to put a ring on it Stuart !!💍
Yep, doing a follow up 2 months later is not a cure for the hoarders. No aftercare can be a downfall for them. Also the resentment toward their partners/relatives can be very negative. Just changing their living environment is not enough.
I wonder how much Stewart has spent taking his gf on dates or gifts for her. I notice he has nice clothes, expensive ties and a ton of HIS hobbies, but she has almost nothing. She pays half of the bills yet has no space

If they're to go, then sell them to a collector. They're probably decades old and really valuable. Didn't really hold out much hope for Stuart. The underlying reason for this spending/hoarding was never addressed.
How is replacing hoarding with the buzz of something else a good idea? He needs help not a bossy interior designer and someone to flog his stuff for the show. He’ll probably relapse and hoard even worse… it’s a disorder not a little habit or hobby
How stupid! Interior design does not in any way Cure hoarding or shopoholism! And these people have a brand new, good looking flat! Why not put the money toward a future deposit, paying Lons or whatever?!
All the money went to the wallpaper I guess. She could not buy even a vanity or a mirror and a closet for Anna... And even for the man he deserved a dedicated shelf wall for the remaining items to put on display rather than a disfunctional fireplace. She spent their money recklessly...
Anna must have had very low self-esteem and been desperate for a man, ANY man, to settle for Stuart. I don't know what the heck she was thinking, but she was clutching a Hello Kitty toy at the hotel; that might explain a lot about her.
Sooo... No Table nor actual Chairs. Smacked an Ikea shelf, bought some furniture and cheap looking and distasteful mishmash of "ornaments".. ah yes.. And the wallpaper.. let us not forget the wallpaper. Also.. that dresser for two people and no drawers whatsoever?! They can barely fit their raincoats in there..
Tacky decor whose 'trendiness' is likely already outmoded... Better to have stuck with a classic foundation and swap out pillow covers and accessories to update..and use most of the budget for storage solutions.
I would never put yellow in a bedroom, soft colors like soft blues and especially muted sage, promote comfort. Stewart nervously laughing, is concerning.
It was a mess cluttered with junk before and the designer wanted to maintain that them so she decorated the place with junk and made sure it looked cluttered and small.
He needs to deal with anxiety that is at the core of it, some sort of past trauma that must have happened to him...maybe anti anxiety meds would help and some therapy. He has shopping addiction, which I have had as well and later realized it was feeling anxious and insecure which was the real cause of it not that i was just bad with money as I thought at the time...
See, I have accumulated a lot of stuff over the years. I am not quite broke yet, nor thankfully my house is not this cluttered, but it is cluttered and I do hoard things. I have tried flea markets, yard sales, etc. People are really not buying anything. Not from me anyway. I can't see just giving away everything when I have spent so much money on it. I wish that I knew how to sell my stuff. Most importantly, stop shopping period, unless it is something you absolutely need.
Try Ebay, or a local online market place. Perhaps prioritise higher value items and see how it goes. If they don't sell, take it as a lesson learned and donate them.
Have just seen your old post. Do you mind sharing your experience of disposing of your items. Did you manage to get rid of most of the stuff? I enjoyed reading your post - thanks for sharing.
This is breaking my heart. There are so many ways to make money off of these items. But the rooms should be emptied. This is not healthy. Even when it is disposed of he still has a scar on his soul that caused this and he does not know what it is. He is totally naive and endangering his futue if he does not save his money..
Anna, run. Run, run, run, run, run.......... He has known for years that you always wanted a little vanity to get ready for your day. The decoration and renovation they've provided lack some little details like designer's facial imprints on the wall.
😂 good one
Yes!! That REALLY would’ve been better!!
Wondering if Stewart has another flat or storage facility nearby? Something ain't right
Actually, by looking at how the "designer" dresses, one can tell that the "design" is going to be catastrophic.
Jeez that terrible ‘designer’ is obsessed with the ‘New York skyline’ - this is the third episode I’ve seen where she’s used it.
All the money went to the wallpaper I guess. She could not buy even a vanity or a mirror and a closet for Anna... And even for the man he deserved a dedicated shelf wall for the remaining items to put on display rather than a disfunctional fireplace. She spent their money recklessly...
Stewart is so in love with himself, he doesn't need a woman. All she is is someone to pay bills and food. Certainly not an equal partner.
Anna must have had very low self-esteem and been desperate for a man, ANY man, to settle for Stuart. I don't know what the heck she was thinking, but she was clutching a Hello Kitty toy at the hotel; that might explain a lot about her.
This designer is so bad 🤣🤣
Like things, love people. Mixing the two up will never lead to peace.
"Funky interior." Uh-oh. I have a bad feeling about this.
I hated all of the wallpaper especially the flag .
Success is not having what you want, it is wanting what you have. We covet what we see. If we don't see it, we won't buy it.
LOVE WATCHING YOU GUYS WORK TO HELP OTHERS IN NEED GOD BLESS YOU FOR ALL YOU DO 🙏
I hope that magazine she ripped up wasn’t collectible :S
Honestly I think they were.
That decoupaged table was so awful 😖
they were, not as valuable as some but still woulda sold on ebay auction, people collect them :(
Such a red flag during the shock therapy he was proud of the money spent and items accumulated. He will fill the flat up soon after filming no doubt
Try selling things online
Try Ebay, or a local online market place. Perhaps prioritise higher value items and see how it goes. If they don't sell, take it as a lesson learned and donate them.
@@nataliebutler Yeah, that looks like the way I am going to have to go. Thank you all.
Have just seen your old post. Do you mind sharing your experience of disposing of your items. Did you manage to get rid of most of the stuff? I enjoyed reading your post - thanks for sharing.
She needs to run . He isn't going to improve
But she needs to get her share of the equity before she leaves
Buying stuff to ' to look affluent' is the new way of living! I blame the internet🤔
Stewart should live by himself instead of subjecting others to this crazy out of control spending. He'll never change.
Time for a new boyfriend
Ditch this "designer." She's has terrifyingly bad taste.
I'm not a hoarder but I would love to get rid of a whole heap of my stuff by selling them at a stall.
I car boot all the time . Go to ur local car boot stall. But be prepared for people to want to pay 50p for everything lol
@@mohammedmahad4949 Never heard of it here in Oz
@@drinkwater9891 Well I don't drive so I wouldn't know lol
Stuart is a selfish brat ! Run Anna, you deserve so much better !
This is breaking my heart. There are so many ways to make money off of these items. But the rooms should be emptied. This is not healthy. Even when it is disposed of he still has a scar on his soul that caused this and he does not know what it is. He is totally naive and endangering his futue if he does not save his money..
I think you just bought Mark and electric scooter.😂😂😂
