  • The subject of cremation has been debated in various religious cultures throughout history, and is still controversial among many modern Christian denominations. In today's study I will answer the most frequently asked questions that have been sent to me on the subject of cremation and provide a Bible basis for all we will discuss.

I think it's a disgrace that funerals cost so much. A vast majority of people cannot afford that amount of money. I understand that it can't be totally free but $15,000 that's outrageous.

My mom passed and I was in my late 20’s and it cost me 10,000 15 years ago. I cremated my mom after calling hours and her body was present during her funeral mass.
She passed at the end of September, that year I went to mass on All Souls’ Day,and the priest homily was about the rite of Christian burial, and he said cremation was fine,so long as her body was present for mass and then buried in concentrated grounds, and she was ant a priest was present for prayers before she was laid to rest. The soul is ever present.

I receieved Jesus Christ as my Lord & Saviour. I asked Him to come live in my heart. The Gospel message is 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. I followed that. I was living in a nursing home at the time. The covid-19 came out then. I had, had an encounter with the Holy Spirit. So when they asked me to take the j4b I said thank you but no thank you. 4 1/2 months later I finally got to go home.
Then I investigated & was grateful to God/Jesus for telling me the truth. I downloaded Brighteon, BitChute, Rumble, Odysee, Patreon & I had TH-cam which didn't show much. But the others did. I looked for what is in the j4b I didn't call it a j4b though. I was very gratefull to God/Jesus for showing me the truth. I still am & will be forever. John 8:58 says before Abraham was born, I AM. Recall Apostle Paul stated: " Absent the body, present with the Lord" [instantly].
Holy angels escort you to be with the Lord ,...
Or Demons escort the condemned below into Hell and external torment, then the Etetnal Lake of Fire at your White Thrown judgment where all your lifetime sins are made public. Time doesn't exist in the spiritual realm, so there's no rush, in reading charges against you.

This is not entirely Biblical. Our final hope is not just in our spirit being with the Lord, it is also in a bodily resurrection... our Saviour came and walked the earth in a physical body, he died in that body, he was raised to life in that body... yes, transformed and perfect but his body none the less. That is our hope... being raised again to eternal life with Him.

And we will be giving glorified bodies to make sure that we have a better understanding we will learn about what goes on in heaven. Thank God that I am learning about this stuff now because I gave my life to Christ a week after Easter Sunday in 2024 which was March 31st and I gave my life to Christ on April 7th. I know I know I have the word of God thanks to Billy Graham add his people? I think I can be more thankful to know that I am going to receive God when I get to heaven and that God will receive me. So I think it is time for all of us to get ready for the coming of the Lord but in other words I think we all need to get ready to make sure that once we get to heaven soon we will be getting there knowing that we're going to be coming back here to win souls for the Lord!

@@esequiela.martinez5087 God doesn't let someone live just b/c a zillion Christians pray for it, or demand it, or b/c healing is believed in or prayed for. God does not let people live b/c they are "good Christians" who have accepted Christ into their heart.
God has already pre-determined when we die just like when we will be born and there is not ANYTHING a human can do to change His Mind.
There are many good Christian people who are suffering, there are many prayers by fellow Christians being spoken in groups of 2 or more, AND there are many children who are innocent, who are suffering and dying.
If someone lived in spite of terrible circumstances, then it is b/c God deemed it so.
Claiming that you lived bc of your faith is saying that your faith is better than every other Christian who died when they didn't want to, or when people prayed for them to live.
Nope. You are a child of God, sure. But when God decides its time for you to die- you are going to DIE. Then- Heaven or Hell- you do get to have a part in that decision.
Is medical intervention human interference in God's divine plan?
God allows medical interventions to work for only so long.

@marthanelson5360 same here. Just popped up on my phone. Put me at ease.
Been a month since I lost my dad. As much as I didn't want to believe it, I had to think fast after he passed on. Called a funeral home. From there on, I realized that cremation was the thing to do. First, my dad missed being in California. He never regarded NM as his home. He grew up in Cali. So I decided, I can't afford the transport of my dad. So I decided cremation was the way to go. This fall I'll be moving to Arizona. California is just next door. So I'll take my dad's ashes to California. To the place he wanted to return too. It's the best I can do for him. The price to bury with casket and all was going to run past $4500. Cremation: $1300. Plus, either way you choose, the funeral home wanted the funds up front. Otherwise they charge each day for storage @ $75 a day and if you couldn't pay, you got late fees. So yes, funeral homes charge outrageous prices. They must think we all be rich. 😢

When my Mom passed away in 2012, I was just sick because I had to cremate my mom. She had no insurance and I only received about $900 in SS disability so I couldn't even bury her. Someone, think my cousins, paid for her burial. I just try to remember that her soul left her when she passed. I've heard that your last breath is your first in Heaven. 🙏

The consensus among most Christian traditions-including evangelicals-is that because the Bible does not directly forbid cremation, it is not a sin. As Timothy George says, “While the weight of Christian tradition clearly favors burial, the Bible nowhere explicitly condemns cremation.”

When I asked the cremation place for a fingerprint, they told me they were sorry but that wasn’t possible. I am a born again Christian and sold cremation services for several years. I always told people who were concerned about being cremated, who thought they could only have a traditional burial, that not everyone had those choices. I also used the examples of war or 911 that God could certainly resurrect their bodies. There isn't anything God can't do. I'm sure this is a wonderful reassurance to those who have made the decision for cremation. The reasons you stated of why it is becoming the preferred method, is accurate. I chose cremation when I was 19 years old. That was 50 years ago. It didn't make sense to me that I would take up space for the rest of eternity and no one could use that plot of ground for anything else. Thank you for putting peoples mind at rest. This is the first time I've listened to you. Not even sure how I came about this.

I don't know how I came upon this either. But I'm glad I did. My mother was cremated and I've never worried about where she was. But I've also never heard it explained either. When I was young we went to the grave yard and the ladies cleaned up the cemetery. People do not do this anymore and rarely even go to the graves. My idea for being cremated is as yours. People will always need the land to live and grow on. I prefer to be kept in my son's hearts. Not take up space for what?? So maybe someone comes along an reads my headstone... people need the land to live on. That's what is important.

@@kellycomber8371 HI Kelly, I know your comment was not addressed to me but if I can help you then I'm glad I chimed in.
I don't know about others but most of the time when I say "God said" I am referring to what I read in the Bible. There are times when the Lord has spoken to me in the Spirit, what I hear is not audible 98% of the time. The Spirit speaks to me spontaneously, unprovoked and uninvited via the Word of God that is stored like treasure in my heart. I believe that only happens if you know and study the Word of God. My thinking is you will never know the voice of God if you do not know the Word of God. That may not be a fact but it's what my experiences have taught me. Those times I've heard an audible Word from God is when I'm in a dire, chaotic or dangerous situation. There aren't a lot of words spoken, usually words like, leave or go or run & a few times get out and my experiences have taught me to leave immediately.
I said all of that to say, as long as you let your Bibles sit there with no attention you will never know what people mean when they say God spoke to them. God loves us and his Word will help us navigate life, it will help us to literally change direction, it will help us to physically change direction. "John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice. I know them and they follow me." I listen to His voice because I know His Word. I know His Word because I steep myself in His Word, I study it because I seek understanding and the more I understand the more God reveals Himself to me.
God bless and have a blessed life in Christ Jesus. Read those Bibles sis and be blessed beyond measure. 🙋🏾‍♀️🙏🏾🤗🥰💯

God does not care how this body ends, God only said that all creations must die, it doesn't matter how it dies, because we all must die and go by the way of the grave except those who are The chosen beloved bride of Jesus Christ they are the only ones that live long enough to go into the what you call the rapture or the catching away if you live long enough as a true Christian beloved bride of Jesus Christ then you will not taste death, so remember it doesn't matter how we leave this world only that we should be true Christians live in and honoring the true word of God and living a Christian Life dedicated to him and he knows where we are even the ashes or wherever your body may be scattered over the Earth, he will gather all that that body was back together again in the new world and create a eternal body that will look just like you did in this life about 20 years old and we will be eternal throughout eternity, saying this that you may know there's nothing wrong with cremation or any way that this body leaves this world as long as you are ready for the new world and the new body.

I came to know Christ in jail in 2013 by reading a book, "Overcoming spiritual blindness" by James P. Gills MD. The veil was taken off my eyes. Heaven came through for me in my finances too, getting $25,000 monthly. I can support God's work and give back to my community. God is absolutely more than enough!

I was just looking through the TH-cam videos and I saw this pastor and it made me feel so much better. All of family is gone now and they are all buried in the same Cemetery and I had told them when my time comes, that I wouldn't be buried with them. It is just my daughter and I, so the distance and finances would be too much . We haven't been able to see each other like normal families, so when we all got to be together for Our Mother's Service was a Special Blessing. God has been my Family all of my life .❤ Thank You Jesus for Loving me more than I Love Myself.❤🙏

Thank you for a wonderful teaching. It's what my father, a pastor for many years with the assemblies of God taught me. He always said sailors drown and the fish eat them but Christ will resurrect their whole bodies if they are in Christ. It's horrible break families financially who have to bury their loved ones. Many a single mother lost a child or in my case, I had to bury my mother and my brother with no other siblings to help me. I buried mom traditionally, but was in retirement when my disabled brother died. I had him cremated and then buried him with mom and then dad as it's all I could afford. We had a lovely graveside service and I was confident I'd done the right thing because of my dad's teaching. May God-bless you

I have prayed and prayed about this . 🙏🏼 I agree with you Tiff. I was married in 1985 just a year later, the awful explosion of the Challenger took the lives of my Christian Sister and Teacher Krysta McCullough and other Believers who loved Jesus. They were not able to have a proper buriel. Tomorrow is the day the Soldiers lost their lives in fires at Pearl Harbor. 😓, I was reading about Joan of Arc as she burned at the stake for her Faith just last week . She asked for the cross ✝️ to look at at eye level as she died and she cried out to Jesus . Also people here who disagree with Tiff and me please think about the recent thing in China . They locked up people in their apartments and they could not get out , fires broke out 😫 they burned and I bet many knew the Lord and cried for him , you won't see these reports on regular news but they happened just a few weeks ago. Please pray hard before you all open your mouths and give your opinions . 🙏🏼

I don't believe in cremation because all our covenant fathers were properly buried. The only place we see God burning people is in hell fire. Those cremated in the bible were done so out of persecution, wounds from wars, but those who died natural death in the bible had a sepulchre.
Many choose cremation because is cheap and because they have no church- nor do they believe in Jesus Christ. Is funny that people can buy a car, or cloth or even spend over 15,000 dollars for leisure but cannot pay for their bodies to have a proper burial, for their families to visit their graves. My husband wants cremation and I see him as a selfish man because I don't want it. Till now I am not happy over his decision. It makes me cry till today. Let the truth be told irrespective of people's feelings. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were properly buried and I will prefer to be buried. Thanks

My late brother is blooming in Heaven...my late father is at peace...I'm gonna be cremated when the time comes...trusting God to be well able to search the seas or the lake or the mountains for that bit of DNA. My reasoning is this, I don't know what it will cost when it's my time. I want you all to do as you will. Rather than give money to something that makes money from your sorrows. I'm gone, I know nothing and it does nothing in the end. The money could be used to fund school, food, housing or whatever.

I never want my husband or kids to deal with this who would be already grief stricken to have to deal with a funeral. So thats why I decide on cremation. As a Christian and not wanting anything to prevent me in going to heaven I have been scare of my decision although could never find anything in the bible that said it was or wasn't a sin.concerned me. But also I know the body we are in now is just a vessel and it's our soul that matters. Also ashes to ashes dust to dust. Ashes and dust are not the same. 3. Pagans like: Greeks, are the ones who introduce cremation to the world NOT GOD. 3. 99% of all religions are false and A LOT of preachers teach LIES, 4. When you study God's Word regarding this matter there's not support, the Bible teaches the opposite... etc, etc

However, I desired to get an understanding of what the Holy Bible stated about cremation. I thank you for your careful and honest approach to explaining Christian liberty to decide cremation for their body, because I feel the soul, absent for the body, present with The Lord. The other day she saw ( only she saw it) a cloud that she described as happy with a glowing light around it. It arched and landed on the table. She was deeply perplexed, looking for what she thought was a piece of paper, on the table. Asking the children if they threw paper, confused. I always say of my wife ''if it's not on the table, she does not believe'' !!! such is her doubt. This was a sign from my father, for her specifically from heaven. Get with Jesus.

My last husband and I talked about which way we would do cremation was the way we chose the cremation was a lot cheaper then have a normal funeral. He was killed by a Lung Doctor that I did not know he was needing until he had told the nurse call me on Monday to notify his other family members I told the nurse they couldn’t get here in time to say goodbye to there brother, coming from St.John’s Newfoundland Canada. When I was told by the Lung Doctor said I could blame him or I can blame God he is bleeding out because he’s had gave him to much blood thinner and he’s bleeding to death. And they took four weeks to give me a his medical files and on the third week they sold me a disc. I had gotten a lawyer to check the disc and was going to get another Doctor he had retained to go over the disk I went from the hospital straight to the lawyer office gave it to the secretary and with in five minutes she came and said there was nothing on the disc it was blank I told her I just paid $980.00 to get a blank disc I know the had four weeks to change his medical records to keep that Doctor that should have been retired years ago
we was together ago. But I guess they can get away with murder I think they should have be retired I lost my loving husband

My parents-in -law chose to be cremated. We dutifully carried out their wishes and threw their ashes out of a plane onto a selected mountain.
As the years passed we realized we had no memorial to remember them by. I miss them and have no one place to remember them as I do my parents.
Funerals and death traditions are not for the dead but for the grieving.
Also, is it appealing to know ashes of the dead are in our water bodies. I am not judging but telling how this has affected our family.

      Misconception: Cremation dishonors the body.
Fact: The Bible says that those who die return to the dust, which is what naturally happens to a corpse when it decomposes. (Genesis 3:19) Cremation speeds up the process by reducing the body to ashes, or dust.
Misconception: In Bible times, only people in God’s disfavor were burned after death.
Fact: The dead bodies of some unfaithful people, such as Achan and his family, were burned. (Joshua 7:25) However, this was an exception rather than the rule. (Deuteronomy 21:22, 23) As noted earlier, the bodies of even some faithful people, such as King Saul’s son Jonathan, were burned after death.
Misconception: Cremation prevents God from resurrecting a person.
Fact: Regarding resurrection of the dead, it does not matter to God whether a person’s body was buried, cremated, lost at sea, or eaten by wild animals. (Revelation 20:13) The Almighty can easily re-create a new body for the person.-1 Corinthians 15:35, 38.

I definitely get what you're saying, but I get the other end of the argument of letting family & friends mourn & go through a moment of closure during the sudden grief. I have no issue with cremation & don't believe it's a salvation issue. But, allowing others to view & grieve over our bodies for several minutes or hours in a hospital/home/nursing facility, or a few hours or day in a funeral home, is not a form of worship or taking their sights off of those loved ones eternally going to Christ. Instead, it's a very deep, meaningful, heart-accepting opportunity for a person to have final, personal closure for the ones who have just experienced losing you. To have that last touch, last conversation "face to face" as you will & last look at the human being they have known & loved their entire lives or have gotten close to in the time they needed you most. Someone they cherished, appreciated, loved & have suddenly lost. Sometimes, for people who have just learned of your sudden death without ever being able to say goodbye or being able to see your face one last time leads to regrets & no feelings of final closure & acceptance. That also being said, I'm not a fan of tampering with a body & filling up with formaldehyde....so my choice would probably just be to allow loved ones to view me at home/hospital/nursing home if that's where I am & then be buried, trusting family or friends will make me decent enough for viewing. I'd rather have the option, such as certain cultures/ countries allow (ie: Hawaii/Samoans), to allow the family to take the body home for a day or two, so loved ones can stay or visit with the deceased, cry with each other, & get some closure before the deceased is taken for burial. It's natural, it's needed & prepares & helps heal the hearts of those who have just experienced deep loss. 😊💓
