Hey! It's true the majority of the population in NUS are Singaporean (a large percentage of admission spots are reserved for local applicants). And the majority of international students are from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other Asian countries, so you girls would be a minority on campus, but definitely not the 'only' black girls. That said, people in NUS whom I've encountered are kind and very globally aware! Whether we as international students end up sticking to our own (with people of the same nationality) or connecting with people of other nationalities/locals though, in some part falls down to our own initiative to make friends and be open-minded to new experiences since it's only natural that we gravitate to people we find familiar. Speaking as an international student in NUS, even as a Malaysian sharing many similarities with Singaporeans hahah, there were still many hiccups and culture shocks- and that's to be expected in a new environment! I am grateful to have found a community that allowed me to grow into Singapore, and I trust you'll be able to as well! I hope this gives you guys a better insight to make your application decisions (I for one would love for you to apply 👀)
hii!! i’m currently an stpm student and i’m thinking about applying to NUS. but i’m wondering about the applications datelines. r there any specific months that the applications open/close and when are the admissions into uni? i really hope to get a reply :)))
Don't quite get it.... Undergraduate uni life should be fulfilling, exploring about and within, working hard and playing hard, at times wild...but learning and experiencing something new day by day... Feeling exhausted is expected, but defeated? Hmmm.... If you get what you want at the end (i.e. degree) but don't have much other positive things to reminisce about your uni life, u've certainly missed something.
