The deserved glory of Haendel put a dark shadow over Porpora. These rivalries in the opera domain, which are presently completely over, should push us to Discover their instrumental works. But more generally, Rameau composed chamber music (Pieces de clavecin en concerts), harpsichord music (Pieces de clavecin), and the rest mostly operas, which contain his most exciting music.
