I think you mean the national anthem of the United Kingdom
Belíssimo! 💖💖💖
Omg the last movement is the basis for the U.S. National Anthem. I had no idea!
I think you mean the national anthem of the United Kingdom
@@mediolanumhibernicus3353no, I meant the U.S.! But it’s not actually the basis of the current National Anthem, but of the song My Country, ‘Tis of Thee. But I just read that that song is based on the UK National Anthem melody, so I guess you’re more correct than I am lol
he was Mozarts friend which makes him totally cool in my book
Well this guy, Devine, has done something rather interesting using a logical progression of the seminal nature of Baroque bass, counterpoint, and arrangement (copy and pasted off of a UK website): Steven also directed our Baroque to Rock Night Shift series, where we performed baroque arrangements of music from artists like Beyoncé and Radiohead.
What the hell are you talking about?
@@mediolanumhibernicus3353 The performer of this piece, Devine, as far as I understand it, did contemporary music in a baroque flair and style.
@@libellus5436 That may well be, but what on earth does '...using a logical progression of the seminal nature of Baroque bass, etc' mean? It's basically gibberish.
@@mediolanumhibernicus3353 You are probably right...beats me.
CPE Bachi ist noch eine Welt
C.P.E. is the best composer of J.S.'s children
🙏🏆🏅
Having helped my father restore a Broadwood forte piano in the sixties, I know how almost impossible it is to keep it in tune. This one sounded lovely, and J.C.F.’s composition was charming😂
Almost a bit too much for little fortepiano against all the big brass and resounding tympani
Yeah, it looks delicate near all the percussive and brass but it gives such a elegant feel to the music itself.. the violins indicate a pause and all the instruments stop.. it's still funny though!
I'm sure that beautiful lady in the painting is wearing a cameo of her sweetheart and thinking of him.
Another smart observation and loving thought from you. 👀👄
Incredibly pretty air (10:49).
I think this is the first time I heard the combination of Fortepiano & Viola. Brilliant. I enjoy every note in II. Larghetto cantabile. 💛🧡💚
It's not one of my favorite children of J. S. Bach, but it still offers us wonderful jewels like this one. 💖
There’s more!
Another Bach? Now it gets confusing
He's the youngest among JS sons and he even generated a composer son, Wilhelm Friedrich Ernst Bach who was born 11 years before LvB. He brought Bach's family to three generations composers, just likewise the Mozart family (Leopold, Wolfgang, Xaver). JSB father was a musician (Johann Ambrosius) but not a composer, best of my knowledge, otherwise it would have brought to a record of four generations composers. However Christoph Bach, father of JA and grandfather of JS was a composer and had other two sons, whose one, Johann Christoph, uncle of JS was a composer. In a way Bach's family may be awarded as a record family with five generations of composers: Christoph, Johann Christoph, Johann Sebastian, Johann Freiderich Christoph and Wilhelm Friedrich Ernst. Unfortunately nothing is known of Hans Bach, father of Christoph and great grandfather of JS. He was a local musician, amateur trumpet player in the local band , but God knows if he wrote anything. He was a miller, likewise his father Veit Bach who was an Hungarian refugee who played the German zither, a stringed instrument, whose he was amateur player. Nothing is known about Veit's father, not even his name.
Oh wow big thanks for a reply! And thats a whole lot of Bachs😅

Fascinating. But was it actually composed for harpsichord and fortepiano? Is that what is written on the score? Or was it composed for two keyboards and, in this case the performers have to decided to ‘mix things up’? Does anyone know?
I was wondering the same thing too. Erwin Jacobi's URTEXT edition says " Instrumentation : harpsichord, fortepiano, orchestra . " ( See the info below ) Composer Bach, Carl Philipp Emanuel Opus/Catalogue Number H.479 ; Wq.47 I-Catalogue Number ICB 22 Key E-flat major Movements/Sections 3 movements Allegro di molto Larghetto Presto Year/Date of Composition 1788 First Publication 1914 or before Average Duration 18-20 minutes Composer Time Period Classical Piece Style Classical Instrumentation harpsichord, fortepiano, orchestra InstrDetail 2 flutes, 2 horns, strings Extra Information Possibly C.P.E. Bach's final work
Yes. The listing and credits are quite puzzling and even somewhat confusing..
@@excelsior999 It would be fascinating to think that the composer set out to juxtapose the contrasting qualities of an instrument in two fifferent phases of 'evolution'. It would also be a unique example of this happening in musical history, I believe. The listing of the two instruments above could just be a reflection of what the compilor found on the recording. I'd love to know the truth here. Any musicologists out there who could help?
@@mediolanumhibernicus3353 I love the harpsichord better than the piano, for me it has a more interesting sound with almost every harpsichord having different qualities.
I haven't found a performance that doesn't use piano and harpsichord. I'm pretty sure the composer called for it.

Great
Beautiful. Composition, playing and organ sound.
All kidding aside, it's a very quirky and pleasant concerto. The sublime Larghetto is its peak, but how to forget the jocular Presto?
My first contact with his marvelous music. CPE Bach. Garanzia. Convenienza. Cortesia. Nevrosi. Ho fatto due etti e mezzo, che fo, lascio? A keyboard (and orchestra) poet, with his incredible Empfindsamkeit music. And the man lives on (e l'omo campa). Poi non diteci che non vi avevamo avvertito. Mica stamo a pettinà la bambole o a passà l'aspiraporvere sulla spiaggia. (Then don't say we didn't warn you. We're not just combing the dolls or hoovering the beach).
