I was never in the Air Force but we have a base not too far from our house. Every once in a while I would hear the distinctive sound of the engines as it flew nearby and we would all run out to watch it. Behind our house is a rather large swamp and they would practice maneuvers over the swamp land. Like I said, none of the other jets sounded anything like it so it was great to hear them and watch the tight turns they could pull with it. Great video!
I keep thinking that there should be a way to upgrade the A-10 to a low-cost heavy close air support aircraft for the modern battle field, instead of ditching them.
There is, it's just expensive. We could overhaul its engines and coat it with the paint that makes it harder to detect on radar but the Air Force would prefer a high tech multi role fighter over a dedicated CAS aircraft.
Andrew Ekleberry There is Andrew they are rebuilding those in there going to be in service for a long time to come the Air Force finally realize what a great machine that thing is I was down at the boneyard a couple years ago and they built a whole new service facility to rebuild the ATMs and keep them in service for probably another 50 years
This is my favorite aircraft of all time, since I was a kid. We got to play hide and seek when we played war games in Germany. 1986-1990. You will never forget the sound of the engines on this bird once she flies overhead.
I look forward to observing the A10 as it occasionally flies through the Big Blue River bottomlands here in East Central Indiana. It is a great savior for our ground troops, it's a warrior too.
Used to go outside with my German friends and watch these things fly maneuvers near my house in Germany. My dad was American ARMY stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany. The A-10 was awe-inspiring to witness in-person. They seemed to be flying in slow-motion - - quite a sight to behold.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrt! and I will always be bestest of friends. I'd never seen one and fell head over heels for one at Miramar NAS. Everyone else at the air show was looking at the super fighters and I saw this sitting alone on the tarmac, so I got a good, long look at it. After hearing it in the air on videos, my heart was gone. I had just passed a Vulcan system on a palette when I eyed the big bore of the GAU-8 the A-10 had. Yowza, that's purty.
I flew an A-10 for several years. I thought our base was being attacked so I went out and strafed a rusty tank, a Nissan Micra and a Tyrannosaurus. The boss smelled alcohol on my breath so I never got credit for the dinosaur. These are my 3 favorite aviation books: - Scream of Eagles by Robert Wilcox - A-10 Warthog Illustrated by Lou Drendel - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson
Tell me what you want but the a10 will always be the most powerful ground attack aircraft. No other jet will ever be able to truly full the role it holds in the war.

@@johndough7160 My favorite plane. Its gorgeous. I love seeing and hearing them. I live near Martin Marietta where they fly all the time. LOVE Them!!
John Dough you want a warthog A-10 to come by and deal with the people who owe you money? I could guarantee you’re a white American considering you can’t take care of your own business yourself. Sounds like you got played for being stupid asf... go deal with your own problems American.
The A-10 was and is a tremendous plane. I believe that ground troops have a great degree of admiration for the A-10, because they knew that when it came in, it could change the tide of the battle in their favor.

I wonder if pilot had to develop a flight plan? Talk about work!

Remember: when you hear A-10 shooting, it means that you're not the target.
What if u are wounded then hear the brrrt then die lol consider this
It’s because the bullets travel faster than the speed of sound, so the bullets hit the target before you can hear it
@@MobileTaskForceE11 still weren't target
@@MobileTaskForceE11 That plane is shooting milk cartons. If you are "wounded" by one of those shots you will not live for long anyways. One of those rounds hits your leg your whole leg will be gone.

How cool is it that you hear the sound of the sound of the target being hit, then a few seconds later you hear the sound of those projectiles as they left the plane?
I can only Imagine as I am a Gunney Sgt. An you're a Marine protecting his Troops
Well done Marine
That's physics for ya
My dad maintenanced this plane in the air force. He’s always been so proud of that
The A10 is one of the few aircraft that never became obsolete
this comment did not age well
I was stationed at Hurlburt Fld., FL when the A10 was being tested. Because of my clearance, I was aware of most of the newer aircraft that were being tested on the range, but when the A10 started shooting the mini-gun I thought I was being buzzed by bumblebees. What a kick-butt plane!
It's not an M-134, It's a Gau-8 Gattling Gun
I didn't say it was an m134, did I? Read b4 you breed
We have both a navy and air force bombing range about 8-9 miles from my house an I sit on the road side just off the road leading to them and watch these sky beasts practice ! Such an awesome machine🇺🇲💪♥️
So simple, yet impossible to replace since 1972.
One time I was at my house doing my normal business when suddenly the whole house starts shaking and then I hear a loud zoom over the house and I quickly opened the door to the back yard when I see FOUR A-10 Warthogs in formation flying off, it was one of the coolest things that ever happened to me.
That was the sound of freedom that you heard
I miss the days of seeing them flying over from Willow Grove!
Always loved seeing A10's in the sky. The best air support for the guys on the ground.
She ain't stealthy, she ain't supersonic, she ain't sleek, she ain't pretty but THAT 30MM canon is ALL BUSINESS!!! Designed for SOCIAL WORK!!!

I was in the Army and they showed us a film of this beautiful warthog in action cutting a tank in half lengthwise, front to back it was AMAZING!
Oh G I was in the Cub Scouts , that makes me President

I love this war bird. Might not be the sexiest or fastest, but it's lethal ground troop support is a God send for our soldiers on the ground. These pilots do a hall of a job.
My Dad took me to air shows when I was younger. That was a great part of my life.
Hard to imagine what it feels like to be the pilot , spinning in the air at such speeds ! Only a few will ever know ! The motivated, the driven, the men with the true passion for it ! Great video ! TY,,, 😁✌🇺🇸💪🕇💕
Since I was a kid building models of these when they first came out, I’ve always loved them and never thought of them as ugly.
They are a thing of pure functional beauty and Pound for Pound the Badest flying war machine ever made.
The best plane ever made hands down. It can never be replaced. I don't think it needs any modifications. If it ain't broken don't fix it!!!
A10 Warthogs have been around for more than 20 years and yet it still does the job as the tank killer
40 odd yrs since about 1979, few updates, but yeah ,still looks for their age.
“Where are the targets?”
A-10: *Gone, Reduced to atoms.*

@XAVIER It will be bad if you get in a fight with AC-10 and the A- 10
Pretty agile for a gun with wings !
Beautiful aircraft !
Who's here after the announcement of the area 51 assault
You'll get to experience this first hand if you show up, may be the last thing you see though
Lol
Dude meeeee
I would pay so much to see 600k dumbasses get hit by this or an AC-130
450,000 people will storm area 51 by Naruto running
I keep thinking that there should be a way to upgrade the A-10 to a low-cost heavy close air support aircraft for the modern battle field, instead of ditching them.
There is, it's just expensive. We could overhaul its engines and coat it with the paint that makes it harder to detect on radar but the Air Force would prefer a high tech multi role fighter over a dedicated CAS aircraft.
THEY MADE AN A-10 C! AN INPROVEMEnt!
Add two more engines
Andrew Ekleberry There is Andrew they are rebuilding those in there going to be in service for a long time to come the Air Force finally realize what a great machine that thing is I was down at the boneyard a couple years ago and they built a whole new service facility to rebuild the ATMs and keep them in service for probably another 50 years
When warthogs come out to play, somebody's not going to have a good day❤
Long live the A-10 Warthog!
The engineering that went into this plane is incredible.
Not really, couple dudes got drunk and said “see that gun over there? Wouldn’t it be cool if we built a plane around it?”
Could you imagine something like this back in WW2? Instant victory
Actually, I have thought about it.
Worked on these 4 years in Germany. Insane aircraft. They talk about retirement for them I always ask why??? Shout out to 81st FS
The hilarious part is thy are having a hard time finding a replacement
I met the team and saw the A-10 at Rochester NY in august of 2019, will never forget seeing it, such a cool experience! please do more airshows in ny!

Out of everything that the United states military has in our arsenal the a10 warthog is my absolute favorite. What a beautiful piece of weaponry!
By the time you hear the BRRRAAAAPPP, you’re dead. Baddest plane ever built and built right here in my hometown!
It basically just sounds like it is ripping the biggest fart

I flew an A-10 for several years. I thought our base was being attacked so I went out and strafed a rusty tank, a Nissan Micra and a Tyrannosaurus. The boss smelled alcohol on my breath so I never got credit for the dinosaur.
These are my 3 favorite aviation books:
- Scream of Eagles by Robert Wilcox
- A-10 Warthog Illustrated by Lou Drendel
- Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson
This is one serious kickass piece of equipment. Its the direct replacement for the A1-E Skyraider.
Tell me what you want but the a10 will always be the most powerful ground attack aircraft.
No other jet will ever be able to truly full the role it holds in the war.
