Sooooo.... We can all agree that once Marshall told his son that OP ran off with another man as a way to explain her absence.... Any and all chances of salvaging some form of a marriage would be irreversibly obliterated, right? Like the moment his sick mind decided that was a good explanation, there's absolutely no going back. Nothing he could possibly say as a reason for why he said that would ever have even a partially decent explanation for this move.
A lot of these aren't actually very realistic put this one is so ridiculous it irritates me did I wasted the time before we got into this. Yes honey let's stay married but I hear a few move to Alaska you can get a really good job and send us more money so if you could live and work up there for the next 35 years we could have a wonderful retirement together
The story with Marshal and Luke. I thought Luke was a small child considering how they said he’d need taking care of from house husband Marshal. Then it turns out 3 days later he’s taking the SATs. I thought it must have been a jump years into the future but it says 3 days.
FFS - your VAs are without doubt the best of this genre, but give them some realistic stories. What stupid wife would agree to be away from their family for 12 months, because the deadbeat husband says it's "for the best", yet still pay all the bills. I know these are all fiction, but keep it within the realms of possibility please.
So why does the mom not just come home. Don't ask for permission it is your home. Your family. You're working hard and paying all the bills. So how is paying for two homes or an apartment as well. Saving money
I think she took it too far. If you have 2 full time jobs and you won’t by a pizza are you having any fun? Are you really living? Sure don’t buy 7000 dollar coats unless you are a millionaire but go out to eat a damned steak every once in a while. Save up and go to Disney World a few times in your lifetime. Again not saying get a gold toilet but live a LITTLE. You will die and not have lived. And forcing another to do the same is just cruel. I would have broken up with her too. I just would have done it face to face.
I know Lucy is supposed to be the good guy here, but she is overbearing and demanding. Work together on what works for BOTH of you or don’t get married.
Yes. Apparently if people are adults exes can coparent successfully. Love that Kamala Harris’ husband’s ex, Doug and Kamala acknowledge that they are coparents to Doug’s 2 children. Kamala and her are even friends.
Being frugal is one thing, being cheap is something else. Using money to get good healthy foods is smart. Sitting home buying cheap noodles to eat all the time is not healthy for your body. Too many carbs could cause diabetes
The frugality killed the relationship. That being said, save & still have the occassional treat. But $7K on a coat is just stupid. And she needs psychological help.
Imagine being unemployed but demanding ur teenage son work instead of going to college. Be honest with your KIDS dad’s a deadbeat and I’ve got to work away from him to make the bills covered. Why why cover for a man’s WEAK EGO? Shame on thr mom
Cheaters always start projecting their behavior onto their partners and pull away make up excuses. I hope the mommas boi and his narc of a mom enjoy one another’s poor existence
Okay. This story with Marshal, Rose and Joanna. Stupidest thing I have ever read in my entire life. Do everyone a favor and delete the whole sorry thing!
I think the story about the Mom agreeing to stay away a year so her child can study for the SATs is rubbish. He would not be studying 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You would have to bean idiot to agree to that. And once her son tells her he needs her at home, she would be there in a flash.
Tbh, being a content creator should start as a part-time job as money doesn't trickle in immediately. As a content creator myself, I can say that sometimes you may never make it.
I was going to comment the same. I was thinking they should have had a deal where he kept working while starting up his streaming career instead of him quitting and jumping in with both feet.
@lyndellrobinson3611 It's crazy how many people think that way, though. I can do it as we make enough income to afford it (I have disability income as well), but really. Common sense is a super power
Story number two is an upside down idea of gender roles. The thing with the mom not being allowed to come home because son is studying, sounds like husband is cheating. If they are so determined to save money living apart is not it.
The first story I admire her for saving money on stuff but constantly reminding someone of how they need to save money can get tiring. I agree a bit with the side characters their is nothing wrong with splurging on yourself for a bit.
Talking to your child as if they are a 3rd party when you are blabbing about bad things in your relationship is toxic. Never do what mom in Story 2 did to her son. She should never have used him as a crutch. Both of them are his parents.
Oh boy! The tofu’s on sale! She’s a bit of a nag. Well more than a bit of a nag! She’s the queen of the nags. $15 for three pairs of pants? What are they made of? Paper? Yes, her frugality is a bit much. The pants weren’t $6 they were $15. Sues not entirely wrong. A little over the top but not entirely wrong. I thought Tim didn’t drink. Yeah, I think we need to talk! $30,000 a year isn’t very much. No wonder she’s frugal. Uh oh! Tim’s got a new girlfriend! Well this isn’t going to end well! Well, Tim’s got a point. Time to break up with Lucy. Of course Sarah will bleed him dry. At least Tim is being honest with Lucy…well sort of. $60,000 a year isn’t exactly wealthy or rich! Well Lucy sure moved on quickly! Poor Dave! Seems like Lucy is suddenly nouveau riche! Boy, her attitude about spending certainly changed! Sue is working at Lucy’s house? Why did Sarah have Sue’s credit card? Did Sue authorize the charges? Cancel the card. Credit card fraud.
I went into a Nordstrom, saw a lot of clothes north of $100. Some were just plain fabric, some horrible prints, and a lot of laughable cuts. Why should clothes be expensive to be considered presentable? Who wants to spend $500+ on an outfit?"
I’m hoping women that hear how this sounds when the guy is the homemaker & acts like this understands just how ridiculous it is when they do this to men.
1st story: Being frugal is good in moderation, but Lucy is being annoying about it. Tim is an asshole, Lucy is annoying, good thing she found someone who can stand the extend of her frugality (also soft-forcing someone to marry you because YOU decided they're the one is he blueprint for disaster, case in point)
it is so important, that you have the the same mindset about spending, family etc. And quality has a price, but lasts longer. but if both are not on the same page, it wont work to the second story, who beliefs rubbish like that, stay away, for the sons sake. and NOTHING would have stopped me to go to my son, as soon he said I need you.
Uhm OP, you're child is crying out for you to come home, you're away b/c if your kids studies. Go the heck home! Be a mother. Also, I do believe it is important to talk to your children to understand how they're feeling and be able to talk them through more difficult situations. It is not your child's role to reaffirm your feelings and give you questions about what you should do for your heart. You should ask him how he feels about the therapy and how he feels about potentially mending your family The rest of that stuff is for you to talk to your parents or your friends about.
2nd story- woah what a total POS that husband is!! Gigglesnort she's so silly for staying away though- she should've kicked HIM out- isnt that how these stories usually go??!
This is the most mucked up story. They were having twins then there’s only Luke. What happened to all the money from the sale of the building Very odd.
Sorry but Luke can go to university. He can work, go for scholarships and if need be get a loan, not ideal but if going to university is dependent on parents paying hardly anyone would go in my country.

To me, that was a worse betrayal on Marshall's part than having the affair.
Lucy’s too good for that jealous petty family. Frugal is good when savings are growing.
Balance is important, though. She’s in miser territory.
The story with Marshal and Luke. I thought Luke was a small child considering how they said he’d need taking care of from house husband Marshal. Then it turns out 3 days later he’s taking the SATs. I thought it must have been a jump years into the future but it says 3 days.

Nothing is wrong about clearance clothing. It shows smarts in finding a bargain
I love hunting bargains. I got some good branding clothes for mere pounds because they had a tiny hole in the seam that will take 30 secs to sew up.
Marshal is cheating. And the protagonist is an idiot for staying away WHILE PAYING ALL THE BILLS.
😂Yes!!! Pure stupidity
@JiSawada-p7x she's not even that clever.
She is beyond crazy! Who stays away from home but pays ALL the bills? Seriously delusional.
I lost count of how many times OP and Luke repeated themselves in this conversation.
So why does the mom not just come home. Don't ask for permission it is your home. Your family. You're working hard and paying all the bills. So how is paying for two homes or an apartment as well. Saving money
Being frugal is great and all but tbh she would’ve got on my nerves.
I agree couldn't stand her 😂
Are they under the impression that $30k a year is a lot? I think that explains the $5 dresses...

Right, I mean savings is awesome, but have a little fun
Once he said he wanted her to stay somewhere else for a whole year, i would have known it was time for a divorce.
2nd story: I wouldn't of told Rose anything. Just divorce and take them for everything. Let Rose figure it out for herself.
I know Lucy is supposed to be the good guy here, but she is overbearing and demanding. Work together on what works for BOTH of you or don’t get married.

He is a bit of a prick, but her constant nagging about money is exhausting. Yes, save, but still live life.

First story. I found both party's annoying.
