      I just saw your webpage for the plans of your two trailers. And read that the plans do have the specific numbered measurement for each piece! But that the numbers are not in inches, which is what I'm used to, so does that mean that they are in metric numbers, I.E. centimeters? And that the price is for them are over $140+, in what I'm guessing that it's in pounds? Please specify the measurements? That it's in either 'centimeters' or 'inches?' thanks.

    I used Popular Mechanics plans from the '60s to build mine. Used a lot of aircraft material to save weight, the foam core floor was sandwiched between corrugated aluminum panels, weighed like 9lbs. I sold it about five years ago to a guy that wouldn't leave me alone about selling it. This vid makes me want another one.

    I've built a lot of heavy-duty trailers and some long enclosed but never a teardrop, odd since as a young guy I spent a summer in one panning for gold with my stepdad... maybe that's why? LOL But I have to say that looks so cute and light it would be a breeze to drag around the country now that I'm old and retired. Looks fairly easy and ya don't need a lot of shop for the build. Where's the plans at that you mentioned? by the way it's great your wifes helping and being a partner with you, you're a lucky man. I would like to see how much room you have for sleeping. What kind of teardrop camper build would you recommend for a hot tropical weather like Costa Rica? It has to be something light, that is basically a fridge to have an ac with propane or gas, and it also has to withstand heavy rains. What is the best option for the body of the camper. Epoxy Fiber with a foam or some sort of Styrofoam and a light wood or aluminum inside? I was thinking I only need it to be rigid on the outside so i could use something light to give it the finish for the inside, but not sure if that s a good idea. Thanks!

    What is the rigid hand tool you are using to flush trim the plywood skin from your trailer roof? It looks nifty, thanks!

      That’s router with a flush trim bit. It earns its keep building one.

    Very interesting job. Is it possible to trust its strength without an iron frame?

    • @WanderTears
      @WanderTears  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. It’s very sturdy!

    7:41 why do you use pocket holes on one side, but not on other side of the blocking between the hatch spars. Is the ply wood prone to split when you drive screw into the "end grain"?

    Do you also construct the trailer frame or is that sourced from somewhere else?

    I wonder if there's a way to do this without using all of the glue. Concerned about the toxicity of living inside of so much glue, as it's brand new and will be offgassing for awhile. Also, might consider a hatch entrance for mine

    Hey guys! Love this build! It helped me understand so much of the process for building my own now. One thing I’m having trouble planning… how did you cut out the holes for the cabinets so cleanly? Trying to figure out how to do that without a cnc.

      Just use a scroll blade on a jigsaw. It’s a thinner blade that allows you to make tighter turns. Take your time to follow the lines!

    Beautiful! May I ask how thick is the plywood you bend?
    Is it a spacial bendable plywood or just thin enough to bend?
    Txn

      It is 3mm plywood and is thin enough to bend.
