Excellent job! I’ll absolutely love how you have a door on each side. This thing is built with such precision and attention to detail that I am astounded! I would love to see you put this video together volume one and volume two in a slower format where you’re detailing what you’re doing how you’re doing it and what considerations you’re making for that particular task. Thank you
Beautiful job!

Thank you! This one wasn’t too difficult either
It has been a real pleasure to see the construction of this very good looking travel cabin!
I particularly respected your meticulously precise attention to detail and very high standards of workmanship, which are apparent wherever the eye settles on your beautifully constructed and presented home on the road.
Your build radiates craftsmanship and high quality, and puts many of the commercially manufactured ones to shame.
Many viewers will be hugely inspired to consider the construction of their own, and will attempts to emulate your outstanding build quality, subscribed.

Great vid and job well done. How thick is the alu sheet? What kind of frame do you use to get the doors waterproof?
where did you get the side door from and what are its dimensions would love to know for my build. great job btw love the build
Ahhh yeah! Thanks for sharing the process. Video for electrical coming up? ;)
Haha we will try to put one together in the next few weeks or so. What else would you like to see?
@@WanderTears I would like to see the addition of your electric also. Also, could you eventually, after a few trips, do a video of what you would change?
You kids did a great job. I call everyone kid's as we are all children of the earth. What was the time and caust of the build?
Wow! Beautiful workmanship🦾🦾🦾 yal use that butyl tape for sealing? Corner trim that bends, guessing aluminum as well? Woah I could afford to have yal bulls me but I have do myself. Plus kinda what I do. Great work! Man yal are a team fosho!! Such a great idea for folks don’t want to drive a big rv!! 🦾🦾🦾
Great job! Looks awesome. Any idea what the dry weight is?
Thanks! Dry weight is around 850lbs.
Great build, curious to see what it weighs now it’s finished?
They said about 900lbs
What thickness aluminum sheets are you using?
Note to other builders; Side metal should be applied first, then roof metal leaving about 3/8" to 1/2" overhang(depends on Drip Mold size). Apply sealant tape to edge of side at roof line, then hammer form overhanging roof metal over tape and side and staple. When applying Drip Mold, use more sealant tape This way you get a double sealant tape and a weather metal wrap over side.
You should also use a wicking barrier under the metal. like Tyvek or even 15# felt as wood rot will occur at metal to wood contact due to internal condensation. Be extra careful sealing all openings and seams as vacuum* can draw moisture into the structure.
Porch or epoxy paint should be applied to the bottom side and edges of the floor before applying to frame.
*Vacuum @ road speeds can be quite high, particularly at the rear and hatch area. Pressure at the front can push moisture in assisted by any interior vacuum.
That’s definitely one way to do it.
Salam très confortable bonne route enchallah
At 2:33, you added corner trim. What did you use? Looks like aluminum angle. If so, how did you bend it? Awesome video. Thanks.
Thanks saludos de peru te invito a conocer mi ciudad y construir campers.
Hi! Do you maybe have a link to which doors you guys used? Having a hard time finding one that's similar
How much would something like this cost? Beautiful construction!
Way cool! What’s your next project? maybe a spaceship.
Ha! Have you been reading my journal?
Hello, great work!!! do you have an idea of the time you spent to complete this project?
This one we built in a month or two. Probably 160 hours or so.
Looks great! How do you water proof the underside of the floor?
A good epoxy paint would do the job
I see a map with places you visit inside the garage. It looks great to place inside the camper. Is this something that can be purchase online or did you purchase from a a store?
You can purchase the map on our website here: wandertears.com/merch/p/usa-galley-map
Wonderful. What síze is it?
Nice clean build, N0T un-necessariy complicated with junk you don't really need , just to make a show case !
Love this!
That is amazing, great job! May ask how much did the material cost? I think some of those tear drop trailers are really pricey and yours look just as good. Once again great job.
Well we do build and sell these full time now. The cost to do it yourself has significant savings, however, it’s just what you’re comfortable with. We also have plans to help DIYers build this specific model and our popular Vaga model. Check them out on our website.
But to answer your question, I think the materials on this one cost around $5k. Prices have gone up since then (March 2021 is when we built it)
@@WanderTears How can I contact you, I am in the market for something similar.
@@gregflores8959 you can email us at daniel@wandertears.com
Superb project, guys ! 🙂 How much does it weigh empty ?
Thank you! This one only weighs around 900lbs!
encore une création lourde.... ils ne connaissent pas le dibon, beaucoup plus léger !!!!
hi, what is the material used for the siding? @wandertears
What kind of brad nails are you using?? I’m having a hard time figuring that out
Just normal 18ga Brad nails. And also narrow staples if we need an extra bit of grab.
Hello there. Great job!!. Where did you get the aluminum angle trim?. I've been wanting to build something similar, but I can't find the trim to finish the edge.
It’s called RV corner insert trim. You can find it through Recpro or Vintage Technologies.
Ballpark cost of this exact model to buy? You two put some quality work and effort into this product, unlike 90% of the trailers on the road. Excellent teamwork. 👍
Thank you! To build this yourself it will cost roughly $5-7k. A lot depends on suppliers in your area for aluminum and lumber. And the electronics you put in.
@@WanderTears Looks like you guys use decent materials in addition to caring about what your producing. I meant how much would the trailer in the video cost if we bought it from you?
I noticed your The Hub T-shirt. Brevard, NC?
Heck yeah! One of our favorite spots! We’re not from there but we love Pisgah.
DA sand the aluminum down, and polish it to a mirror finish!
Good evening from Argentina, what is the name of the external aluminum profile that joins the roof with the side?
Important tip for working with aluminum: Always smooth cut edges, always deburr all holes. Not only does this help keep the edges from slicing your hands, but sharp edges in aluminum sheet are places where stress cracks can start.
Thanks for the tip!
@@WanderTears ridgid has a sheer head attachment for their multi tool, works wonders, alot less noise than jig saw.
I would like to know the cost to build that trailer? thanks
Really nice, do you have an idea when the Metric DIY plan will be released ? (thanks in advance)
Thank you! The metric plans for this one are on my list. I will try to get them finished up in the next week or so.
@@WanderTears th-cam.com/video/NLrIIEMwrm4/w-d-xo.html
watch around 7 minutes what he did for the floor, some idea for you, what do you think
@@laurentvienne9816 yeah I saw this video a several months ago. His design is incredible! I wish I had the training to engineer such a camper.
Is there a reason you chose aluminum siding as opposed to painting it? Could you use another metal like copper?
Aluminum is lightweight, durable and fairly cheap - between $100-180 a sheet. Copper would be so neat if you’re okay spending $1000 on the sheets.
Is it enough to add rv sealant only on the outside perimeter of the aluminum before adhering it to the sides and roof?
We use butyl tape under the trim which does most of the sealing up.
@@WanderTears I don't think it's a question of sealing. Is that enough to hold the aluminum sheet to the wood?
What’s the trailer dimensions is needed for this plan?
Идея шикарная,об этом все мечтают!!!!!!!!!!!🥺🤔но у нас туалет на улице😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄мы в каменном веке!😄😄😄но юмора у нас не занимать👍
Did I miss how you weather protected the wood bottom of the trailer? Aluminum skin too?
We use fence paint and rv underlayment under the floor. Aluminum would work too but we like to run the underlayment up the sides.
Do you need to waterproof the underside of the trailer or is it just plywood exposed?
We waterproof it with fence paint and RV underlayment.
Sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher at the end there.
...without painting, spraying or treating any of the wood?
Actually my hammer is gone........ Well I got some rocks 😂😂😂
Is the aluminum for looks or any particular reason?
It waterproofs the exterior
Why not just keep in wood without aluminum? Either painted wood with epoxy paint of nicely stained and covered in clear polyurethane?
Because it doesn’t look as nice
👍👍
