So the last time the Boys was used in anger was by the IRA. Interestingly enough, the very first time the Thompson SMG was used in battle was also by the IRA, when they used it to attack a British troop train outside Dublin during the War of Independence in 1921.

Personally a channel where the commentator sounds like a friend telling you something interesting and not a lecturer in the second term of RMA Sandhurst in the 90s is welcomed by my ears. Not a criticism, just an observation, with Feltons visuals being strong just for the record. Horses for courses etc etc

@@EdNashsMilitaryMatters that’s great. My father in law was in the Black Watch as a loader in a Bazooka (super) team. His instructor said he’d have rather had a PIAT - bear in mind this is the 1950’s. The reason he said was that shooting a bazooka had such a large WDS weapon discharge signature (I made that up:) that you would be instantly counter batteried. Also you could fire a PIAT from inside a room or bunker. Firing a rocket from an enclosed space caused such sudden increase in air pressure due to expanding exhaust gas that it could kill or at least deafen. Then there’s the whole setting stuff on fire thing.
I think there’s a good tale of a typical British military death cult type guy at Arnhem who took out a load of Tigers by firing his PIAT from upstairs and roof tops. I get miffed about this topic because of the lazy and bandwagon history. Every report was just a rehash of a previous report etc and non had an actual source. Yes it kicked like a bastard and yes it didn’t always cycle but actually it was ok and as mentioned had some very useful advantages over rocket projectiles. Rant over, ta.

Guys, if it fires a .50 BMG it is almost certain that it is not a choice weapon for a true modern sniper. That round is made to be fired by the millions from machine guns. Unless it's specially custom-made, the quality control standards of the round aren't high enough to give sniper-level repeatable accuracy. The Barrett is just an anti-materiel rifle. That guy crawling through the mud with the Gillie suit on? The Light 50 is just barely accurate enough for what he does. He's likely using a rifle chambered for something like .338 Lapua or 6.5 Creedmore, or some other such round that's easily available in competition-grade high quality.

Only actual literal traitors would support your own HoG being killed in a bomb attack, especially since it's not like they couldn't have only gotten her. There would be other significant casualties too.
This is without mentioning that the modern Irish youth are misleading you into believing support for the IRA within the ROI was much higher than it was. They killed so many Irish and Northern Irish people, Catholics included, whether civilians or not and they denied the legitimacy of the ROI at first too so they were also essentially at war with the Republic of Ireland.
