To be honest, me getting my identity stolen has been one of the main catalysts as to why I ended up stop making content altogether due to burnout. Been dealing with the fallout for a good year and don't wish to overload myself and risk further injury. I don't think I will stop making Funky Friday content the day I come back, but I do see myself toning it down and focusing on other pieces of content like you said

As an ff OG, I had a hard time watching the game start going into a darker route. I really didn't want to change my opinion "Both FNB and FF I like equally". But they've been making that opinion hard to keep. I wanted to see the positives on both games. Unfortunately, I have to say FNB is better then FF. Despite this, I know I will continue playing both.

Yeah, FNB puts alot of effort (and has better animations) now lets talk about the bosses for an example, ff adds Cycles as a boss. Not something like Gotta Go or Left Unchecked, just Cycles. In my opinion everything he said is very valid. If Lyte listened to the community we would have better updates, more mechanics, 50+ mods (Like FNB) and who knows even better events. And I have to agree with you on the Funky Friday shorts trend it's annoying that a lot of creators who put effort into their FF videos get foreshadowed by these people. There's no point of even playing FF anymore you're better off playing FNB. Anyways, if anybody read all of this I hope you have a good day/night.
The 50+ mods are unneeded, just make it like 4-5 an update and it's greatly enough. The 50 mod updates are kinda unnessecary, as most of the time you only play the update for only one of the mods, while you don't even know or never even will play the other 98%

this couldn't have been said better. When people started quitting, I said "Nah I don't think I'll get bored of this" and here we are lol. I completely agree with the part about mobile short channels. They all upload like 1-3 times a day, until they get lucky and make one that gets like 300k views. And it's very frustrating to see them get 50x your views when you put in 50x the effort.

Honestly, well said. I used to play funky friday all the time back in 2021 but after watching the game decline around new years I just couldn't enjoy the game as I once had. Not even going into the community and how there is seemingly new drama every other week or so, I 100% agree when you went on about how the updates were just not the same anymore. They feel lackluster. I only really get on funky friday now with friends, which is sad, because the game has some polish, but that's it. I can't believe Lyte can get away with all of this while still racking in around 4x the players that FNB has, considering FNB is undoubtedly the better game in pretty much every way.

I always thought that something was off after playing Funky Friday for a while. I'd used to grind for a pretty decent amount of time each day, but now I can really only just play a few songs and call it a day. It just doesn't feel the same as it used to. Watching this analysis really opened my eyes to another degree on how this game is degrading itself so badly. This was very entertaining to watch. Hopefully this video is noticed by Lyte eventually and realize the mistakes they're making. Thank you for speaking up about this.

In short, I agree with you. I no longer find anything fun in the game and it honestly feels like a chore to do anything related to it. The only time I would be playing it is if I would join a friend.
The thing i hate most about this going on is that they don’t listen to people, yet friday night Bloxxin does and they get less amounts of players even though funky friday half- no- quarter asses it. The one thing that fnb needs to do however is improve lag and make it more accessible for people on low end devices to play it. Not that much, but to the point where it doesn’t kick you out on big servers on mobile.
Also, you’re so right about mobile TH-camrs taking over with no editing. It’s harmless, but like cmon, edit atleast. I know TH-camrs such as me make well edited content and they go under the radar. As somebody who puts a ton of effort into my videos, it sucks to go under the radar.

The fact that this is so accurate is amazing, probably the most informative one out there. Agreeing with alot of this.
The one excuse that people use to defend these people are “they are only two developers.” But they are backed up by many contributors, game fam, and don’t even make half the content for the game. As far as I am aware, the only work they really put in is scripting the songs into the game. But the property of the songs themselves, the animations, and multiple dimensions of creation do not belong to them but are instead given to them. It is more as a shield they can use
On this note, there are not even mechanics in the songs themselves besides the copy and paste death notes and numerous stack notes goitches

FNF videos used to dominate the TH-cam recommendations. Now I have yet to encounter one in the recommendation. Just goes to show that it has now fallen out of the internet's interest.
You have a really good point. Funky Friday used to be the powerhouse when it came to FNF on Roblox, but throughout the past years, all they've been doing is killing there own game. They don't even listen to their community and the updates are getting WORSE. And the fact that they don't even take action against MangoPull and Reddzzyx for clickbaiting with their assets drives me INSANE. They're the reason why people are moving to FNB!!

dude this is such a great video lol. im so glad you talked about ff shorts because god i hate them. its pretty sad how very good cc get overshadowed by a ff shorts youtuber since they dont really deserve the views. plus making a channel with funky friday shorts is kinda just digging your own grave. if funky friday/fnf gets less popular then their channels will die and lose subscribers fast. and the updates are pretty horrible haha. especially the bosses. the lord x boss was ALREADY a song in the game. and they just added lord x. and BOOM play it 1000 times for a character! :D. very good video though man, nice job :)

Jesus christ, I don't really know what to say at this point. First and foremost, amazing video. A full 21 minutes of what I call "Pure Funky Friday Slander™", which I believe was very much needed. Maybe this'll make Lyte get off of their asses and fix their game... Anyway, a lot of the points made in this video have pretty much been my bottled up feelings about Funky Friday, or rather FNF as a whole, for a while now, especially those Damned Funky Friday Shorts!!! I think the point where I noticed that FF started to go downhill was the Week 7 update. Y'know, literally only 1 new mod for the update, but it's alright cause there's a lotta new animations, right!?!? From then on, I started to get less and less hyped for FF updates, whilst I was gravitating towards Friday Night Bloxxin' instead. I remember being so excited for the EXE 2.0 update around Christmas, adding Triple Trouble, which was one of my favorite FNF songs at the time. But now? I rarely play FF anymore, if at all really. I do hope that Lyte gets their act together and starts doing shit, such as adding mechanics besides note gimmicks, or modcharts besides that Detected modchart, or hell even adding mods that people suggest in their own discord server, rather than... whatever they're doing now. And if they can't do all of that by themselves, then take a hint from FNB and hire developers for god sake!!!!!!! A whole fuckton of these problems would be solved if they hired some people to help them work on their game besides just contributors... I hope Lyte watches this video and starts taking notes, because I'm sure there's still some people in the world that still care about this game and would hate for it to die out just like YAFN.

A new map or the rates system isn't going to change that opinion, because one barely effects gameplay and is just for visual purposes and the other is ridiculously easy to implement and artificially increases difficulty by speeding up/slowing down the song rather than the charting itself being difficult. lol i made internet argument paragraph xd xd
As someone who played since March 2021 i thought this would never get boring but unforutanely in this april i had pretty much given up. All the points you were fairly solid. Nice video.
As someone whos played since Bob(the phlox one) mod released, it honestly pains me that it fell out.
When the new map update came out, I was absolutely active, grinding for the *mor animation because it looked amazing for me, and i really loved Bob and Bosip at the time.
The fact short ff youtubers get millions of views just by playing a dumbass song. Yet, I'm over here editing 30 minute to hell, even an HOUR long videos, it just feels like a spit in the face, at least to me thats what it feels like. I agree with all of this, every single word you have said in this video.

I’ve been playing FF since 2021 and it’s really sad to see how it’s falling down so much as of late. I’ve played FNB much more than FF since it seems to update quicker and provide so much more songs and animations. FNB just blows my
Mind with what it can do compared to FF. Sometimes I play FF on rare occasions, but FNB is my new place to play my favorite songs.
I never played funky Friday myself, but damn, after watching this video you really showed me how the ff developers can be so careless.

anyway, the point of this video is not to alert the ff devs that their game is dead, because it ain’t. the game is still gaining a decent amount of concurrent players and is still somewhat relevant. the problem is that lyte is actively ASSASSINATING their own game with each and every update/event that comes out, and you shorts youtubers are certainly not helping. now that you’re switching to fnb, all you’re going to do is ruin its content creating scene after y’all completely trashed funky friday’s. I also love how you proceeded to say the game was dead instead of actually providing a factual argument with evidence, which shows how ungodly money hungry you cash cow like content creators y’all are. go back to making your yfs doesn’t cap mod, as at least that requires EFFORT, unlike your content

to be honest i barely really considered the impact of what updates happen (especially after doors stuck)
i just thought that hold note animations was just there to exist and camera moving was just to exist (guess i was wrong)
ironically i was also in the phase where i was exhausted of doing sonic speed simualtor (and if i remember correctly had a considerable amount of hatred for the game but not the studio)
i’m currently in the midst of the second event and have basically been up to speed with like everything that happen with just this video alone (and also feel less likely to jump on the bandwagon of “Gamefam ruined ff”)

i feel like one of the reason of game dying is because they focus more on models like morphs microphones and boomboxes while ditching the main thing that makes the fnf mods actually cool and impressive: mechanics. only mechanics they added was the indie cross vs. sonic.exe vs. retrospecter and that one mod with a werewolf(i forgot its name) im not spesificly saying that they shouldnt be making models its just that you shouldnt put most of the effort on models
there is also another problem with it: some of the songs dont work. i tried to play the song "toast" from the vs camelia mod but both of the difficulties didnt work one of them simply played bopeebo and one of them simply didnt load
as a ff og, funky friday pretty much relied on fast updates, as you can see on its heights, it went down when they didnt update, now their updates are alot slower as well with the overall concept of the game falling off as well, the game basically go boring
Tbh, I firsted did not like funky Friday, then I started playing and I had fun, but now it just feels boring, it is just a dead corpse of it's original self.
The fact their getting sued as well is just depressing. How could a fun Roblox game based of another game turn into a rotting hellhole if nothing else but boringness? It's just sad, theirs no good future for FF.
been waiting for a video like this. i use to love ff so much to the point where id be over the moon for updates, i ended up quitting when indie cross got released on ff due to the fact they added nothing but death notes when they had every opportunity to make THE absolute most out of that mod. it only got worse from there. many things that should’ve been added months and months ago took way too long to come out(talking about the animation preview i got so tired of looking on youtube for the animations i was buying).

mid 2021 funky friday was probably the most fun year for ff and fnf in general.
the only problem with FNB is the fact that it is extremely laggy. They get everything but optimization right. The moment, and I MEAN, the MOMENT they allow you to disable anything that turns your phone into a toaster, i am switching.
Tbh agree 100% with you, In 2021 funky friday was such a good game but 2022 funky friday fell off. i quit funky friday when the week 7 update dropped like what the hell 1 new mod and 3 updated?! i had enough. ive realised since the speaker skins/hotline024 update was the last big update ff had and the indie cross,sonic.exe 3.0 and the recent gameover update for fnb i nearly dropped my jaw it was hella amazing. Just hope Lyte see this video and understand what mistake they done.

Game has fallen off, the only thing that keeps it up is the children that play. The only issue i see with this video is how much you talk about content creators in specific. But thanks for making this video for the community!
I remember when they updated every once a week for small updates, it was so fun, it used to be fun but now it's just press 4 buttons and listen to music, FNB however makes itself alive, for example, mechanics, cutscenes, and mod charts. FF devs don't work smarter, they work harder just for a couple of mods to be added in.

As a FF TH-camr that has been here since a few months it’s been released I did enjoy the game and the achievements that I have done towards the community so I want to say this journey was an amazing yet weird one.
I used to play ff all the time, I remember playing when the shop wasn’t even a feature in the game. And so it’s really sad for me to see it die, I loved the game but now, I don’t even wanna touch the game. I’ve basically just quit the game, I don’t know if I’ll try and gain my skill back and start playing fnb or what but it’s still a crazy sight to see a game that had like 40k+ people playing, drop to such a low point. Ff just seems like a prime example of when someone’s game gets massively popular, they just stop listening to the community. If I do start playing again and try to gain my skill back, it’s unlikely I’ll be joining ff.
Yeah, this video was pure correct answers, I’ll be honest, I post short videos, but I also post a lot of longer videos, and that fact that most of these ff short posters get like what 20k a video? And I barley make 3K views anymore, I have seen so much stuff go through this community and so much new people who just blow up in like 4 weeks? And just seeing that makes me pissed that lazy creators make better than me, and yet they don’t give a crap about their fan base! Most of them focus on being monetized, now ofc that’s fine but they all just don’t try, and they get money for effortless crap, I would want this to start stopping, the whole community is based around shorts, I literally can’t focus on one video without being recommended 50 other shorts of other people IVE Never heard of, and those people randomly get 1k subs in a day, yet I get that much in like 1-2 months, and the community is filled with people having egos bigger than their own brain, it comes to make me think leaving the community is a better choice, but I still wouldn’t choose that yet, this video is based around TRUE things that make a lot more sense than an ff short TH-camrs explanation for why they post shorts, if this community based stuff around better things like 3-8 mins a video? I never liked the shorts genre either I’ll be honest. I can definitely say there’s no effort put into it, all they do is record a song and only use 30 seconds of it. It’s unbelievable. Some of them doing streams is ok, but they just end up taking 30-40 seconds of the stream and somehow it works in the long run.
The first two sections really felt like malding but honestly I agreed more and more the longer I was in the video. Definitely correct, other fnf games are so much better than funky friday. Keep up the good work :)
As a FF OG and Enjoyer, I'm very sad that FF is kinda a dead game. There's not many people made video on the game and there's are some of FNF game like FNB,PNC and etc. I'm still love to play this game for fun but I don't think I will make more video on this game. Now, I move to game like "Nico nextbots","RFTI", "Evade" and etc.
Ive been playing ff as soon as youtubers started bringing attention to it. I used to love it, since it was something new, and was actually fun and non-toxic. Now the game adds mods that people have never even heard of, has some horrible 3d models, and horrible boss fights. Once ff gained popularity, FNB came up. At first, i didnt like it since all i thought was that it was another ff clone. I was horribly wrong. It did everything that ff did wrong, right. Not to mention, the settings and general quality were WAYYY higher.
Ok as a Funky Friday contributor I would like to clear some things up. Firstly yes they would be willing to look for more developers, they just don’t know who yet. As well as that contributors haven’t been leaving in mass quantity’s, Java has been looking for more contributors, and Java does have bigger plans, but the developers have school. Thanks! Aaron
first off, you’re aussi, right? also if they seriously want developers they should definitely start actively saying that on twitter, discord, etc. COMMUNICATION is the key to fixing most of this shit. also, the fact that they have school is kinda bs since the game started becoming shitty at the end of the school year and throughout the summer. there’s no excuse for that. also remember that lego works on this game too, along with many other devs

Funky Friday used to be fun in the past but now it got boring I just wish they can add the mechanics from the mod to funky Friday that is why I went to FNB they have almost the Mechanics and they have animation that change during the song

Funky Friday, for the longest time, was my go-to Roblox FNF game, but once I found out about Friday Night Bloxxin’, it was kind of over at that point. I play FF sometimes, but I definitely play FNB a lot more now. Honestly, it’s because FNB is the more high quality game. As one comment I saw had said “FF values quantity over quality, while FNB values Quality over quantity” But even then, FNB still has the same amount of, maybe MORE, content than FF. Funky Friday really did fall off, didn’t it…
On the updates thing, mostly recently if not a couple months back, they added sky blues version of phantasm before the actual phantasm mod like how bruh 😭
Not only did it fall off, it shattered, exploded, and caught fire when it landed.
Ok. i really don't like saying alot bc i don't like dramas but i have to say, so actually we do shorts bc is that the people like to watch basically when i join on youtube i also watch shorts bc it's cool (for some reason) we content aren't 100% with not efford (i know other youtubers put alot more efford in their content) we have to think on a idea to send a video that gets views, sometimes i pass a time watching shorts to get ideas to make my content, also idk about others but me, i try to put a thumbnail that looks cool with the title (i rlly don't know if other youtubers do this). One of the reasons I preffer FF is because of the UI, FNB' is laggy, and almost all the anims are by the player avatar [no custom models]
I see your points and agree like listen to the people who give traffic. But I think funky Fridays real problem is that they set their bar too high when it comes to updates so if people get a smaller update they won't be attached. Also the mods added at their peak yeah they could but if people want the mod charts that might be hard due to Roblox having limitations. Maybe if they add the songs and the mod charts and arrows later would be better. I wouldn't say it fell off its just no at the topm

this was amazingly well said. when i used to play FF when it was JUST a small game with a modified friday night funkin template on a skyscrapper roof, it was the good old days. but when the game started declining it just got harder and harder for me to have fun with it. the game is a grind and it becomes so dry after a while. like I used to log on and play this game SO much when it was in it's prime, but now? it's just a trashy mess. I will agree with the mobile shorts thing, that's unacceptable and unfair. seeing this annalysis video openned up my eyes to other people who actually had the same opinion as me. but hey, at the end of the day, it really just depends on weather lyte makes the decision or not.

I still think the fall somewhat also had to do with the decreasing interest in Friday Night Funkin as a whole. Honestly I feel like Funky Friday would EASILY be able to get around at least 50k concurrent players if they had of focused more on adding mod mechanics much like how fnb does. Though I won't compare the two since they both have different developer teams and who knows, the fnb dev team could always be way more "advanced" which is why they can do what they do and why funky friday hasn't. But I definitely feel like they should at least TRY to add those advanced mod mechanics so the entire gameplay isn't just hitting arrows on a screen which easily gets insanely repetitive, but maybe that's just me.
Honestly couldn't agree more. I played ff during the old days when the map was still on top of a skyscraper and animations were a grind to get, and I can say that watching the game go from hitting mainstream to falling downhill just felt inevitable. The devs can't listen to the players to save their lives and the playerbase itself is really toxic from my experience from interacting with them. Ff just doesn't seem as fun as it used to be. Meanwhile there's games like fnb, which is so much better than ff game-wise and much less toxic. It only makes sense that a lot of ff players migrated from ff to fnb, it's just the better game.
This isn't just Funky Friday. The reason for this is Friday Night Funkin. The game has been getting loads of controversy for the last 1 year, it just gave Friday Night Funkin a BAD reputation. It gave Funky Friday its downgrade. Though every game that gets popular would usually die because they don't want to play the same game over and over. Another reason is that the developers left Funky Friday to Friday Night Bloxxin. Friday Night Bloxxin is not a part of this, though it just made it even worse when I talk it further it would get worse.

Oh boy,I remember when on the Anniversary Update I finally started to realize that FF was going downhill. I was an FF player since the first map,my friend told me about it and seeing the game in this state is just wow. Also oh boy,the Door Stuck update made me quite pissed,but for the different reasons:the audio was somehow messed up and randomly jumped from ear to ear which was SUPER annoying.

Another point i dont think is gone over enough, At some point over the past few months, They pretty much completely ruined the input system, Idk it just seems to not work as well anymore. Which really sucks for more seasoned players.
I Used to play FF, after the updates started going downhill, I've quit the game and went on to FNB, the developers have added in WAY more animations, along with icons, better splashes, etc. And if ever a mod is needed to be deleted, they delete it right away, along with that, FNB devs make their animations more smoother, and with more assets, all while FF has been making their animations pretty bland, and not focusing on their community. That then makes me outright not wanting to play FF anymore.
I have an extra issue. Overhyped updates *cough* *cough* lord x boss. I can only seem to get hyped for D&B content now. Thankfully, the new map seems promising and the shop previews were a great addition despite being many months too late. They should also make a more clear difference from one animation to another from it’s name. How were you meant to tell the difference between fleetway (exe) and fleetway (phantasm). I mean, the previews actually show you which one is without finding a video.
The only reason to play FF for me is because they actually have the updated WI, which fnb had to fucking delay, ik we are getting it for halloween, but it still pisses me off, especially with the fact that they removed the mod from the game FOR SOME REASON

Honestly the only reason I play FF over FNB is because of the huge amounts of lag and sometimes input delay on Xbox which is the platform I play on but I’ll probably retry it to see if things have gotten better
Watching this really makes me realize how bad the game has gotten, I stopped around like march, which later on I had completely forgotten about this games existence. Every once and a while I would check up on Funky Friday, but ultimately never actually played it. This game really stopped exciting me when they added boss fights, 3v3, etc. That's what really killed the game for me, they also added some really boring mods. They stopped trying at this point, this game is a cash grab now. Lyte really fucked up this entire game by having way too high expectations on the shitty updates he drops.

Honestly, there's no doubt that everything you said was a fact. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's felt like Funky Friday's updates this year just haven't...been it, and it's truly saddening to see considering the fact that Funky Friday was my first FNF game on Roblox. I joined last year when the 2nd Map was around, I always played it everyday with one of my closest friends and we always had fun, especially ending up being crowded by basically a whole server of cosplayers as we did 1v1's. Goofing off with those people were fun times, but nowadays we barely play it. I mostly play on my own from time to time whether it's to solo a song or check out the new updates, as much as I do love Funky Friday. I'm more than likely going to have to move on to FNB in the meantime, but nonetheless. You just earned my Sub! I hope more people share this video to get Lyte's attention about Funky Friday's situation.

FINALLY! Thank you for pointing this out! I share the same opinion as most others that say FNB is better than this game gone dumpster fire. I wanted to keep loving this game but the devs just seem to be incredibly lazy nowadays with with basic bland updates including very few animations (which now are HORRIBLE), not to mention the bacon boy morph which is basically just a reskin that goes for 149 ROBUX. May not seem like a lot to others, but to me that’s too much for a RESKIN. I also want to mention how low quality the game STILL is. Even some of the thumbnails seem lazy (ESPECIALLY the week 7 updates thumbnail.) FNB takes longer to update than FF most of the time, but at least they’re updates are great! Almost all of Funky Falloff’s recent updates aren’t even REMOTELY good! The content creators (or at least the not-deserved-popular ones) aren’t even good either with all they’re clickbait videos. Again, this is just my opinion, but I’m glad I was able to share it and I’m glad you decided to point this all out.

But istg the update before RB battles just added D-sides songs (AFTER the first D-sides update)and some obscure animations (at least from what I can remember) and like bug fixes, I think.
But either way there was barely anything in the d sides songs update.
