I keep getting comments like "I'm blank years old and better than you hahaha!". Guys. Please. Don't comment stuff like this. Art isn't a race and it isn't a competition. People improve at different rates and times and that's not a bad thing. Please don't compare your success to others, that's not a good way to go through life.

Nobody gives a shit about how old you are just enjoy the video for crying out.. she made this to encourage us not to give up no matter where we are with our skills right now, not to show us a timeline it's practice that makes it perfect not age...

Oh lord, I forgot they totally Americanized the anime and made her name Zoey. LOOOOL
Monique Renee It's alright! I knew both names because I watched the anime on TH-cam until episode 23-ish (it was called Mew Mew Power) and the rest suddenly was in japanese and I got used to both of the names. :3
They changed her name to Zoey?! I thought it was always Ichigo? (of course I could never stand the americanized versions of anime so I would just watch it with subtites) :P
I also photo copy my drawings then color them from fear ; -;
I found that I stopped doing this as I grew more confident in my art abilities :) Keep going at it and don't be afraid to try new things!

see this just proves that no one starts perfect at art, norm will someone ever be perfect because there's always room to improve, but if you just keep trying you'll get better. Tip, if you just draw what you love and not focus on being perfect then you'll get better without even realizing it! :)

I love how you look at your old art and look at it for when it was drawn and your level of experience then, rather than how good your art is now against it! That's really constructive for yourself and something I adore!!

I absolutely love how positive you are throughout the video! Most artists when looking back on their old art are just screaming about how horrible everything is and complaining and cringing, but you're just like "Yeah I was super proud of this one, I still think it's kinda cute, I might redraw it!" Wow! I just found you, and you are simply amazing! The detail you put into the drawings, and the patience you have with yourself. To be honest, I struggle with the idea that it takes time to improve, and I look at other people that have better art than me. Also, your positivity was beyond than I expected. Most artists are hard critics in their "Old Sketchbook" tours, but you point out the pieces that you are still proud of today. I'm really glad I was able to see this video, and I hope you continue to improve!

I've been drawing for almost my entire life, so about 21 years :) So I've got almost ten years more experience than you, naturally I've picked up a few tricks along the way. If you keep drawing and keep pushing yourself artistically, you will get better and better!
Vuk Stojanovic I'm your age too! You're on a good path watching this. Watching videos of people's old art compared to their current style can be very inspiring! What I do to get better is keep a sketchbook and try to draw every day. The worst thing to do is to compare yourself to others, so believe in yourself!
age doesnt put your art down you can still make good stuff no matter how old you are. i recommend that you go to buy a how to draw book or a dvd as i find them more helpful than youtube videos

I draw anime manga a lot in school and it was pretty good but my handwriting is shit so th other day my Malaysian language teacher told every one to Do an essay so I was writing my essay and my handwriting was horrible so she said "your handwriting is starting to look like your cartoons"(she was emplying that my handwriting as shit) so I made a return fire and said "so are you saying. it looks good"? and the whole class started to look like the oooooooh! meme

What always amazes me about sketchbook tours like this is that people actually took the time to color all their stuff while I just always simply sketched it with a pencil and let it be lol. Although I can remember a time when I was around 12 where I colored my stuff too... guess we just have more time as children :O

You tried many positions and backgrounds while I'm over here only doing the same thing over and over, scared to do anythinh new because I'm afraid of letting anyone down. Orianna Beesinger, try it! I did the same thing, i was always on one specific type of position but I wanted to try so i did and it looked horrible! I kept practicing and now my only problem are the hands but the position im fine now!
