Nice reaction and as you said, this was their first time in the UK and their first major event outside of Asia (they played two small shows in France and Germany in the days before this and Yui and Moa celebrated their 15th birthdays at those shows. Su was 16). Just two or three days later they played a sold out concert in London. They played 5 songs at Sonisphere and you were right, this was the last song of the set. That was all it took for them to win the crowd over - if you had let the video run to the end (fortunately you did not cut off the "See you" or people would have complained) you would have heard the crowd calling for "One more song" - you would have also seen the translation of the title of the song - 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' = 'Bullying, No More, For Ever'. That weekend there were many big and popular bands playing including Metallica, Iron Maiden and Anthrax ... but the BABYMETAL t-shirts and merchandise outsold all the other bands there. This was the weekend that BABYMETAL first made their mark in the west.
This indeed was the last song of their set. At the start, they had to fight with some technical issues but they ended with the crowd shouting "We want more! We want more!". Suzuka (lead singer) was 16 and Yui and Moa were barely 15 back then.
Gimme Chocolate went viral around Feb and Mar of 2014, with support of BabyMetal fans the organizer booked them for a smaller stage at Sonisphere 2014 (UK). Then online flame war ensued arguing if they are worthy to be there. The flame war grew so intense plus their sold out for The Forum, London concert tickets (7 July 2014), that the organizer bump BabyMetal to main stage by May. This is a stage where people throw bottle of piss towards bands they don't like. So when BabyMetal went on stage, they are definitely worried. After this performance, UK became their biggest market in Europe. This festival was held on 5 July 2014 and was BabyMetal first major metal festival outside Japan. a day after Moa Metal's birthday (4 July). You mention how Su is so confident on stage, it is important to know that even at this young age she had already been performing in front of live audiences for 9 years, I think she started at 7 or 8 years old and had been doing modelling from aged 5. Still they were nervous before this show, there had been threats made on social media that they would be booed and have bottles of urine thrown at them but their real worry was that nobody would be there to see them. There is so much that can be said about this song and this performamce. Ijime, Dame,., Zettai is literally translated to Bullying No More Absolutely; but Babymetal translates it as No More Bullying Forever. It is the second song they ever performed when starting out, and the theme of positive messages in song carries on. Su-metal has said ithat she has received many letters for this song, including one from a fan in the UK who wrote they were bullied and were afraid to leave the house, but listening to this song gave them the courage to go out and face their buillies. A custom of this festival over the years. The girls were quite nervous when they started the set, but they gave an excellent performance and were welcomed very warmly. Ever since the girls call the UK their second home outside of Japan. But more importantly, I noticed that the crowd gradually turned into literal audience.
