I read a recent comment that described the lyrics best: She is singing about "a nightmare running away from a monster she can not see...she is exhausted and hides in a well. And she gives up and just asked the monster to show itself to know what she was running from before she dies.". This is one of their darker songs. Su's solo songs have more depth lyrically.
⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 That was the sixteen year old Su. : ) She performed three solos that night. 'No Rain, No Rainbow' was followed by 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) did two songs without Su that night ('4 no Uta' and 'Onedari Daisakusen'), and they all performed a bunch of songs together. That Black Night Budokan concert from March 2014 is still one of my favorite BABYMETAL shows. Leda Cygnus did the first guitar solo. He had ESP signature models, but has been favoring his signature Strandbergs for quite a while. Takayoshi Ohmura with the second guitar solo is rocking one of his signature ESP Snapper 7 models. This one is nicknamed "Gold-chan". He often plays the twinkle pink version called "Pink-chan". That's probably his best known guitar. Bassist BOH was playing his six-stringed Atelier Z BOH custom. Hideki Aoyama was on drums. I love how Su's voice penetrates right through all the heavy instruments. Did I mention she was sixteen? : )
Great reaction. This is another way BABYMETAL mix it up in their shows - first the 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' intro where you get to see the Kami Band doing their thing (on this occasions, Leda Cygnus - blue guitar - Takayoshi Ohmura - gold guitar - BOH - 6 string bass - and Hideki Aoyama - drums) and then Su-metal with one of her solo songs. Su had two solos on each of the first two albums (this and 'Akatsuki' on the first, 'Amore' and 'No Rain, No rainbow' on the second) and Yui and Moa also hade two songs on each of the first two albums that they would perform as a duo (known as Black BABYMETAL) without Su. Their songs were '4 No Uta' (or Song 4), 'Onedari Daisakusen', 'GJ' and 'Sis Anger'. 'Rondo of Nightmare' is possibly their darkest song lyrically. Su is caught in a recurring nightmare (a rondo is a recurring musical theme, in this instance they have used the term to describe her nightmare) where she is being chased through the dark by something - she doesn't know what. Finally (at the quiet bit where she hangs her head)she is hiding in or by a fountain and whatever is chasing her is coming closer - she finally accepts there is no escape and asks if she is to die won't whatever is chasing her at least show itself to her ... and then she falls into darkness.
Babymetal have 4 songs that Su sings solo. This one, Akatsuki, Amore, and No Rain No Rainbow. Moa and Yui also have four songs they sing, or at least used to sing, as a duet. They are Sis Anger, 4 no Uta, GJ!, and Onedari Daisakusen. When Moa and Yui performed without Su, they were called Black Babymetal. I recommend Akatsuki if you haven't heard it yet, it's a great song and Su absolutely kills it, plus it has a nice dueling guitar solo section.
His name is BOH....God of Bass... Su is the Queen of metal This one of our Queens solo songs. The other 2 are basically takin a break. They perform songs as a duo known as BLACK BABYMETAL while Su takes a breather.
BABYMETAL concerts like these, especially the ones in Japan, are about 1.5+ hours long, so the other two girls use this solo as a chance to rest a bit and fuel up...Moa is eating fried chicken backstage and Yui is eating her favorite...tomatoes. Great reaction! 🦊🤘
The other two are taking a break. When Black Babymetal is out there is when Su takes her break. Also, Sis. Anger. That's without Su and it's their heaviest song.
Who the hell~ walks into BUDOKAN at age 14(YUI and MOA) (SU-METAL was 16) and changes history? In March 2014, BABYMETAL performed in front of 20,000 people at the legendary BUDOKAN venue - setting a record for being the youngest female fronted band to ever sell out Nippon BUDOKAN on two consecutive nights. If you've played the LEGENDARY BUDOKAN, you have made it. If you've played a sold-out TOKYO DOME 55,000 SEAT STADIUM two nights in a row ( SEPT 19-20 2016 ) - - you are immortal!!! SU-METAL is our METAL GODDESS QUEEN and an IDOL LEGEND. Its times like this when you realize three kawaii Asian girls are more METAL than you.
babymetal again OMG, i love this channel so much! Moa ans Yui are in the back stage resting while Su does the solo, then SU rests while Moa and Yui sing with BLACK BABYMETAL!
Hell yea guys! Love it. Someone answered the question about this being one of Su's solo. 2 things for LVT.. Was this recorded before you and MagZ did the guide... and hell yea, break fingers if you have to, to not pause during a solo. lol You can always go back and watch the whole solo again. We won't mind at all.🤘🦊🤘
Nice again & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。Kamis' (=Gods') super plays are already excellent as a main event, but once the 16-year-old Queen emerges from the underground, she colors everything differently and turns Kamis' plays into a ritual to summon her. If you are interested in their ballad, I strongly recommend "BABYMETAL - NO RAIN, NO RAINBOW Live LEGEND - S - BAPTISM XX -". Before you listen to it, you should prepare tissues to wipe your eyes. Please continue to explore BABYMETAL.
Funny you should mention the girls getting a break. You asked where in the show this is? It's in the middle of the show. In the old days, before Yui left, the concerts included 2 Su-metal solos and 2 Black Babymetal solos. Black Babymetal being Moa and Yui's duet sub unit of Babymetal. They would strategically do these songs in the middle of the show, including a video lore short story (omitted in this video). This would give the girls a chance to catch their breath and would give the Kami band a chance to shine. The Kami band also getting 2 "solos" of their own. They also do a instrumental intro to Catch Me If You Can, and occasionally YAVA, Awadama Fever, and Akatsuki. Unfortunately since Yui's departure, the whole stage concept has changed, and the Black Babymetal songs are no longer performed and the Western Kami band (the new band for western touring are former members of Galactic Empire and Shadow of Intent drummer Anthony Barone) created their own "solo" intro for Kagerou.
The guitarist said this song was most difficult song to play among BabyMetal songs. But also singing was extremely difficult. In that sense.Sue-Metal is genius, he said.
My Japanese isn't the best, to say the least, but didn't Ohmura say Rondo is one of the easier songs for the band, but one of the hardest for Su and that she's a genius for always singing it perfectly? It was in one of his early videos in which he plays all his guitar parts from songs of the first album if I remember correctly.
Look I don’t know how I even stumbled onto your channel, but the first video I watched was the unhelpful guide to babymetal one and was sitting there at first like why the fuck am I here watching this....2 seconds later the videos over and I’m like well shit, can’t stop now right? In truth, I love the way you guys vibe listening to this. Shits genuine, that’s what people want to see...glad you posted it. Earned a subscriber for damn sure.
It's one of her solo repertoire to give the other 2 a mini break. Black Babymetal (the Yui-Moa duo) have their own songs too. Thanks for the nice reaction.
Beautiful. Su-metal, Most Powerful Queen & Goddess! Unleashed, she would obliterate COVID-19; however, Japan's "Nukes, Dame, Zettai" policy forbids it. Arigatou! 🦊🤘
Here's what's going on with the screen. And for the record, I'm a guitarist/musician as well plus deal with a lot of tech. There are actually two screens/tablets there. As you can tell, Babymetal uses backing tracks for their songs. They aren't going to get a concert pianist on stage for songs they have piano parts on, like Akatsuki, Ijame, Dame, Zettai, or Rondo of Nightmare. So they'll play to a backing track for that. The timing has to be exact on those, as the timing to that track goes through the in-ear monitors of the band. So Hideki Aoyama (the drummer) controls that, and the timing of the playing of the backing track. The second screen is as D said, for effects, or would basically be a drum machine. A song they have, called Iine (you have reacted to it before) has hip-hop beats to it that are controlled by that second screen. Another song from this show, called Uki Uki Midnight, has EDM/dubstep type beats to it, that the drummer plays to effects controlled by it. Yeah.. Babymetal goes all out.
Yui and Moa also had their own songs, and they would play a couple by themselves, and Su would have a couple solos in a concert, widely believed to give everyone a break for a bit during the show. Sadly when Yui left they stopped doing the solo bits, and consequently the shows are about 20 minutes shorter than they were.
The Drummer Hideki Aoyama got even a Dr. Titel in Music if he`s not alleady made it to Prof. so the screen is an Pad with the Notes ( you can see it @ closer look on Road) = He really plays on notes and is a machine without words!
basically "Mischief of Metal Gods Intro" is a ritual performed by the god of guitar, bass & drum to summoned the Metal Queen Su-Metal. because in this song her human soul has been trapped in the recurring nightmare with no way to escaped. The Kami Band in this show are : - Leda Cygnus (1st guitar solo) in the past usually play with 6 string (like on this video), but now used 8 string. - Takayoshi Ohmura (2nd guitar solo)lay with 7 string. but, last year during the extra show "BM Metal Galaxy World Tour in Japan", both him & Leda was using ESP E-II MF-9 BabyMetal (9 string guitar). - B.O.H (6 string bass). - Hideki Aoyama (drum). his brother & father also drummer. his father (Jun Aoyama) is consider as one's of the best drummer. the others two member (YuiMetal & MoaMetal) was resting backstage eating tomatoes & hamburger before they performed duet as "Black BabyMetal".
Y'all are up so late at night lol by 1am I have been asleep for 4 hours haha the other video y'all said it was like 3am or something. You guys are troopers, I'm telling ya. Love all the Babymetal and Sabaton reactions!
Excellent choice! As you must have realised eventually, this was one of Su's solos. Look for Black Babymetal songs to see Yui and Moa's duets. As we explained after you'd watched the Babymetal documentary a few days ago, the girls all get a break with the solo/duet method.
You play at the Budokan because they ask you to. That’s when you know you are big in Japan. Catch me if you can , at that venue, is another song that shows off the bands skills. Well worth a watch. And all 3 girls are in it.
Just to help Durty D with his gear check a little bit: I don't know what Leda Cygnus, the guy with the first solo, is playing, but Takayoshi Ohmura plays a Ohmura custom ESP Snapper-7. Usually he plays the pink glitter edition, but in this case it's the gold one. There are more colors, but these are the only two I've seen him play at BABYMETAL shows. He also has a 15th anniversary edition of the same guitar, the "Pink Monster", which is completely pink glitter, head, neck, frets and all that stuff. And sometimes he plays the guitar of his deceased good friend and Kami Band colleague Mikio Fujioka, which was a Fujioka custom Snapper-7. Herman Li of Dragonforce called Ohmura "one of the best shredders and fastest guitar players today" a few weeks back when he "reacted" to their latest MV, BxMxC. In their newer pro-shot shows (2019 especially) it's a bit like the Kami Band is hidden. They wear masks and are waaaaaaay in the back of the stage. It was a little bit better in their two Legend Metal Galaxy shows in 2020, but still not how it used to be in 2014 - 2017, where you could really see the band almost the whole show. Their back-to-back two night Tokyo Dome shows are pretty much the best to observe the band because they are in the middle of the circular stage and the girls are often on the outer ring directly in front of them . They also played two instrumentals each night.
Great greay reaction again. This performance is a classic and absolutely Amazing!!! Plesse react to Amore live. Is crazy! I love yoir channel. See you in the next 🤟🏻 🦊
Su's solos are a bit of a different experience than watching the three girls bounce around, but all of her solo songs are very good, in my opinion. Rondo is one of my absolute favourites, the vocal melodies are so beautiful. If you check out the lyrics, you'll notice that they are unusually dark by BABYMETAL standards. One thing I love about the song is that the music supports the hauntingly beautiful atmosphere perfectly. Even without knowing the lyrics, you can sense that there is something sinister going on. If you'd like to hear a real ballad, please check out "No Rain, no Rainbow". It's a real tear jerker, so don't forget to bring tissues. th-cam.com/video/pDgqo6fcliY/w-d-xo.html. It's another Su solo, though, so perhaps you'd prefer to see the other girls in between first.
Since you just watched one of Su-metal's solos, you should check out one of the Black BABYMETAL(when it's just Yui and Moa) songs, "Sis Anger" is just those two and it's probably the heaviest song BM has ever made. "GJ" and "Onedari Daisakusen" are also just Yui and Moa. "Song 4" is a song that Yui and Moa wrote themselves while on the tour bus. They're all good fun and allows them to showcase their talents while Su takes a break backstage.
What I love most about this is in the intro, Hideki on the drums is just a machine, chugging away on the double bass pedals. I heard an audio track from Sumetals ear monitor (video up on TH-cam but recorded on a potato) where she is getting the time codes . In this track babymetal are in a 3/4 timecode so the counting is in 3's. I would guess the guitarists and drummer also have monitors, hence the drummer keeping the drumming so perfect. I have to say that Su is a goddess singing but Hideki is just unreal. On Akatsuki he seems to do a paradiddle on the double basses. That is another Sumetal only track and it's amazing.
My absolute fave song and performance to go to when introducing BABYMETAL. Nice reaction guys. Now Black BABYMETAL' S Onedari Daisakusen next. You'd see Moa and Yui perform without Su
Yeah, this was a Su solo song. If you really liked it, then you should definitely check out Akatsuki live at Budokan Black Night. It's such a great song and performance. Su goes hard on that one! 🦊🖤
I read somewhere from comment sections that moa and yui are taking a rest during that song as well as doing their homework. Idk if it's been said in this comment section but I'll say it.
Okay, I'll help. During the middle of a set, Su will trade off solo songs with Yui and Moa ("Black Babymetal") duets so they can rest a bit and have a drink of water. The next song in that show was one of my favorites, Onedari Daisakusen - th-cam.com/video/hivJTm4ncjo/w-d-xo.html Cuteness turned up to 11 and incredible energy from Yui and Moa.
It”s so funny to hear LVT refer to Moa and Yui as the backup dancers especially how she totally adores them now. This must have been early days for you guys. Great reaction guys as always. Babymetal is life.
In the early years there were some Su solos as well as Black Babymetal songs without Su just Moa and Yui. Most obvious reason is they were just 14 and 16 in this concert. If you play a concert for at least an hour you have to give 14/16 year old girls some breaks during the concert.
Perfect dueling guitars would have to be Akatsuki, another Sue solo but I would say her best. I dig you guys. You are fun to watch and make me laugh. Good stuff love from So Cal! If you go the other route, with no Sue and just Yui and Moa look up Black Babymetal. Cheers!
For me, Boh and MISA on stage together rock'n out would be awesome. You guys need to react to "No Rain No Rainbow" SideNote; Su's Grandmother is a survivor of the Atomic Bomb that hit Hiroshima.
You guys know all about Su's solos and Black BABYMETAL now, so I won't get into that. As I'm to understand it, "Rondo" is a music term for something that repeats. I think it was more common in classical music, but they decided to use it here to describe the nightmare Su is having about being chased by an invisible or unseen demon. When the music stops and she sings into the mic in a different tone, it is supposed to be her hiding, but calling out to the demon to show itself to her before it kills her. As others have said, Su had four solo songs between the first two albums, and Yui and Moa had four of their own songs. Su technically had a fifth prepped and that she was performing in 2018 that was called "Tattoo", but when Yui left they decided to scrap the solo's and Black BABYMETAL songs. They renamed "Tattoo" to "Kagerou" and now have Moa and the Avengers out there dancing while Su sings the song like it was planned to be that way. This has led a lot of people to speculate that if that was one of Su's solo's for the Metal Galaxy album that came out last year, which it is on, then "BxMxC" may have been meant to be a Black BABYMETAL song for Yui and Moa because of how much harder it is than most of the other songs on the album and their songs are typically the hardest songs in the BABYMETAL catalog. Sadly, we will most likely never know because of how tight-lipped everyone that is part of BABYMETAL, are.
Hi. I love your reactions. I believe that these songs with only SuMetal on stage are so that YuiMetal and MoaMetal can rest ... 90 minutes giving it their all on stage without a break ...
One of the best performances I've ever seen from Babymetal, though I do miss the crowd presence. Su's solos tend to be shot in a way that makes it almost seem like there's no crowd at all. If you're in the mood for another solo that is definitely a ballad, Akatsuki is my favourite. The Budokan performance of that is once again the best one to react to.
Did you record this before the Unhelpful Guide ? Because in there it tells you that there are Black BABYMETAL songs with only Yui & Moa while Su takes a rest and songs with Only Su, called "Su solos" while the other two take a rest. It is one of these songs. It usually happens in the middle of the concert. You did say in the video that you had a live show coming up on October 31st and this video was posted on November 10th so I guess there's my answer ;).
Dancing in the dark two meters above a rotating stage, a 16yr old Suzuka sings of an unending nightmare being chased by a Faceless Terror, begging a Boon that it show her its Face just once before she dies! Thats Metal! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Dancing in the dark two meters above a rotating stage shows courage. Following four Kami Band solos with a solo song of her own demonstrates fearlessness. : )
Two videos i suggest Awadama Fever and Yui's birthday Headbanger in France... just the one in France... I just watched it again... I think I'm still alive???
I’ve enjoyed you guys reaction. Here I have another Japanese speed metal band named “Unlucky Morpheus” which I want to recommend you strongly. Please check their epic sound.

Great! So now you know about the Su solos and Black BM songs :)
Sis. Anger next?
That explains what I thought was your short term memory loss! I've cancelled my 420 comment now.

Babymetal - Kimi to Anime Ga Mitai 👌
absolutely amazing and wonderful 💞
Y'all are up so late at night lol by 1am I have been asleep for 4 hours haha the other video y'all said it was like 3am or something. You guys are troopers, I'm telling ya. Love all the Babymetal and Sabaton reactions!
Sounds "ballady" but is actually a very dark song about a recurring nightmare.
Rondo of Nightmare refers to here nightmare of being chased by a demon.
🤘🦊🤘 SuMetal
Y'all always make me smile and laugh. Never stop rocking!
美人なお姉さんが可愛い。
お兄さんも好青年。
Great greay reaction again. This performance is a classic and absolutely Amazing!!! Plesse react to Amore live. Is crazy! I love yoir channel. See you in the next 🤟🏻 🦊
Yava next
Yeah, Yava is a great song! And I want them to do "Syncopation" too!
@@emb5091they did it.
My first Su solo gave me anxiety cuz I kept waiting for the 2 girls to come out the whole time.
they have lyric video's for almost every song by Babymetal... that dont get blocked...what a concept..
Aha, the long intro with the Kamiband.
Excellent.
Solo performance by Su-metal.
Rockin' the Daniel Bryan shirt 🤘
Next Black babymetal where is Moa and Yui part. Try Sis.Anger
Great reaction guys 🤘🏿🦊🤘🏿
Check out this BabyMetal song Head Bangya!! [intro] (Night of 15 Mix)(Live “LEGEND 1997”[SU-METAL Seitan] 2013)
Best metal waltz ever 🤘😷👍
like many who had commented this, it's like the intro is actually a summoning for Queen Su to appear :p
My absolute fave song and performance to go to when introducing BABYMETAL. Nice reaction guys. Now Black BABYMETAL' S Onedari Daisakusen next. You'd see Moa and Yui perform without Su
Nice react, love the energy. Next react song 4 black night would be interesting 👌. Awaiting next reaction by you all.
Girls were having a break. Then Su has a break and out comes Black Babymetal. :)
4:42 vindication for LVT 😁👏
Another great reaction from you guys. It’s truly been a pleasure watching your descent into the fox hole, hope you keep enjoying the band.
Yeah, this was a Su solo song. If you really liked it, then you should definitely check out Akatsuki live at Budokan Black Night. It's such a great song and performance. Su goes hard on that one! 🦊🖤
Hi Metal Mafia The Su Metal song you asked about' The One Heres the video of Babymetal playing to
55 000 fans in Tokyo @
the heavy tune is sis anger @
The kami band does for intro showcase their talents, Rondo of Nightmare, Yava, and Catch me if you can.
Kagerou as well.
Queen SU and her Kamis!
I read somewhere from comment sections that moa and yui are taking a rest during that song as well as doing their homework. Idk if it's been said in this comment section but I'll say it.
Budokan~ Boo-duh-con...
Okay, I'll help.
During the middle of a set, Su will trade off solo songs with Yui and Moa ("Black Babymetal") duets so they can rest a bit and have a drink of water.
The next song in that show was one of my favorites, Onedari Daisakusen - th-cam.com/video/hivJTm4ncjo/w-d-xo.html
Cuteness turned up to 11 and incredible energy from Yui and Moa.
It”s so funny to hear LVT refer to Moa and Yui as the backup dancers especially how she totally adores them now. This must have been early days for you guys. Great reaction guys as always. Babymetal is life.
"In your face!" Lol
In the early years there were some Su solos as well as Black Babymetal songs without Su just Moa and Yui. Most obvious reason is they were just 14 and 16 in this concert. If you play a concert for at least an hour you have to give 14/16 year old girls some breaks during the concert.
Perfect dueling guitars would have to be Akatsuki, another Sue solo but I would say her best. I dig you guys. You are fun to watch and make me laugh. Good stuff love from So Cal! If you go the other route, with no Sue and just Yui and Moa look up Black Babymetal. Cheers!
Also, "hospital gown era" lmao
For me, Boh and MISA on stage together rock'n out would be awesome.
You guys need to react to "No Rain No Rainbow"
SideNote; Su's Grandmother is a survivor of the Atomic Bomb that hit Hiroshima.
great reaction🤘
please next time I want you to listen to Uki Uki Midnight
Kami band - The Hill of Wisteria (A great tribute song for Mikio Fujioka)
A hauntingly beautiful heavy metal waltz.
That was the ritual to summon the goddess,u need to have that kind of skill to summon her
The drummers ipad screen has timing info
Hi. I love your reactions. I believe that these songs with only SuMetal on stage are so that YuiMetal and MoaMetal can rest ... 90 minutes giving it their all on stage without a break ...
I know this is 2 years late but girl that eye makeup is killer!
Great reaction!! Please check out Onedari Daisakusen live Legend 1997 by BABYMETAL. It’s the most kawaii thing you’ll ever see.
🦊🦊🦊🎸🎸🎸🥁
One of the best performances I've ever seen from Babymetal, though I do miss the crowd presence. Su's solos tend to be shot in a way that makes it almost seem like there's no crowd at all. If you're in the mood for another solo that is definitely a ballad, Akatsuki is my favourite. The Budokan performance of that is once again the best one to react to.
More babymetal reaction
You must react to Sis Anger. Maybe their heaviest song
Please react to Maximum The Hormone - Yoshu Fukushu.
Yes this was a lost reaction. We found it and decided not to waste it.
Other girls are taking a brake for all the dancing that's why Su is soloing this.
Reaction the song "Death" - Babymetal in live
Song is heavy
Dancing in the dark two meters above a rotating stage, a 16yr old Suzuka sings of an unending nightmare being chased by a Faceless Terror, begging a Boon that it show her its Face just once before she dies!
Thats Metal!
Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Dancing in the dark two meters above a rotating stage shows courage.
Following four Kami Band solos with a solo song of her own demonstrates fearlessness. : )
@@rickwagner- And that is why she is Queen!!
👍
Two videos i suggest Awadama Fever and Yui's birthday Headbanger in France... just the one in France... I just watched it again... I think I'm still alive???
It's like a ritual of summoning
You have to react to daisakusen legend of 1997. Yui and Moa sing no Su. They are so cute in the video
Great guys. Please react to my favorite song: Kimi to anime ga mitai Live at budokan black night 2014, the most kawaii song of babymetal :3
How do you follow that amazing intro. with Queen Su of course 🔥🔥🤘🦊🤘
I’ve enjoyed you guys reaction. Here I have another Japanese speed metal band named “Unlucky Morpheus” which I want to recommend you strongly. Please check their epic sound.
