It has come to my discovery that it seems like every NASCAR race was televised in 16:9 in 2004 with only 2 races televised in HD. At the beginning of the video with Allen, Wally, & Benny present, you’ll notice the lines on the monitor behind Benny indicating that this was televised in widescreen. But I guess it’s whatever that this is in 4:3 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just because they’re using HD cameras doesn’t mean it’s broadcast in HD. Lots of time the quality is downgraded for broadcast. For example I work some events and they use 4K cameras but it’s only broadcast in 720p

Can they PLEASE bring the that linear-36deg banking back already??? I fail to see how its logistically more feasible to do all of these gimmicks with the PJ1 and covering it with dirt instead of just repaving the damn thing. Even Mike Joy - on air - got rather candid and called out SMI for this dreadful mistake (during the Friday dirt practice he said QUOTE: "Wow! This reminds me of the OLD Bristol...The one that packed 160,000 people in the stands each race!"). The whole damn UNIVERSE is SCREAMING at you to put the banking back how it was!!!!!
and yes, I applaud them for trying something new, but it's time to come to terms with the fact that this experiment turned out to be a failure. It happens, and now we know. This is not the hill SMI should die on. Concede, repave, and move on.

Wallace was always a Pinhead and loved to mess around with other drivers passing them and letting them pass him so he could pass them back! I never liked the Jerk! But Junior won this so Wallace can Stick it! You know if Earnhardt Senior hadn't died Junior would have won several championships! There is one thing I noticed about several races back in this era and that was if Dale Jr. wasn't up front at the start of a race you didn't see his car or the broadcasters didn't mention him.

Umm did you ever watch dale sr race? He did the exact same thing your complaining about Rusty doing thousands of times, it was quite common before the cars became more and more aero dependent, hell Petty and Pearson, Yarborough and Allison would spend entire races pulling that move on each other every few laps. Guess theyre all Pinheads too....or is it just because he dared do it to jr?

@@hellobye-jp5gd Not true he was a team owner a car owner he would have had him contending for championships as the owner and him racing had nothing to do with any of it he could have retired and junior could have still had a good team the team turned to shit after he died

@@grungyflannel Yes, I watched Iron Head race! And he was worse. As for Junior winning a championship I still think he would have had Senior not died! In fact, I am 76 years old and started watching NASCAR a long time ago. I saw the first televised race in a special Sports Spectacular in 1960! It was the Daytona 500 televised by CBS. I think 1971 was the first year they Nationally televised a NASCAR race.
