Awesome, you found Canada's other premium 3-peice prog export! (I'm sure I'll hear from someone who's a fan of a third 3-peice Canadian prog band, sorry, I dont know them lol)
If you liked "Hold On", "Magic Power" is basically its successor, I'm sure you will love it just as I did when I discovered it!

    Hey Salvo
You are 100% correct the song is special. It's a spectacular song by a spectacular band. In my opinion they are one of the most underrated and overlooked bands in existence, maybe it's because they're from Canada lol
Another song about the power of music that they do it's called "Magic Power"that is just as good if not better. Also check out "Fight The Good Fight" it's all about personal empowerment and it gives you that feeling. I think you would really dig both songs.

The reason I got the shirt is because I was leaning against the escalator and the black plastic handrail rubbed a black line across my whole rear end! 😂 not cool when your a 15 year old cute girl. ❤😂They had the best light show too.

Got to see them a few times including what was unfortunately their last concert with original members (save a one off reunion about 20 years later!). Rik Emmet quit the band right after the show and I got the news in the Toronto news papers the very next morning! Amazing band and they should have been much bigger than they were (and they got pretty big in some parts of the US). Do more of them for sure!

I loved Triumph! It's been ages since I heard this amazing classic! I just added it to my playlist, I've missed it! Friends at the time said Triumph was derivative, and I argued that all art is derivative. They weren't entirely wrong since influences are not always this apparent, but they created something new and amazing out of it, so my old snobby friends can take a hike, lol. To be fair, they have all grown up, now, and I doubt they are gate-keeping music, anymore. You heard Geddy Lee influences, and I agree, there is a lot of Rush-ness, here. I can hear a lot of Styx, too. Even the great cover art kinda looks like a Journey cover ate a Boston cover, lol. It was the style at the time..

Next song must be Magic Power, then Lay It on the Line, Fight the Good Fight as starters cRick Emmitt was a guitar god that nobody knew! Live they were all incredible (check out the recordings from The US festival!). I was introduced to them from this song. 1978 I was a junior in high school. I used to get these radio promotional 45’s in the mail ( I guess from my Circus Magazine subscription) and one of them was this song by this unheard of band names Triumph. I was instantly hooked. First of all I truly enjoy your reactions. I especially look forward to seeing you experience music that I grew up with. I always liked Triumph because they were an uplifting band with a positive message. I saw them in concert in the early 80’s and they shot a laser into a large disco ball which of course blasted the entire arena with laser lines. I was in high school during the early 80’s and got to experience some of the best bands of that era. As a matter of fact, Bob Seger played a few of the local bars around Detroit in his early days, during the 70’s, and I recall my mom and dad talking about seeing him perform.
    Good times! 😊

I remember waking up one Saturday morning, and feeling happy about not having to go to school, or work ( can't remember, it was so long ago ) i was lying in bed, I turned on the radio, and this song started, it was so perfect, i remember hearing that voice and thinking who is that ? I think I became an instant Triumph fan right then & there !
I always thought this song would be perfect for a movie scene, where it starts out with all the noise, and hustle & bustle of a city, and then somebody driving out of the city and into the peaceful countryside, and as the city & noise fade into the distance, this song starts up. Just something I visualized

Salvo, I'm sensing a pattern across the songs you've reacted to. It seems like that rock music I grew up listening to, really is great music. Thanks for posting it. 🙂
