Arthur Danto was a teacher and good friend of mine; I had no idea, up till today, there were videos of him on TH-cam. I miss him terribly. This makes me maybe the only person to weep through a video of an interview with a philosopher.

You're not the only one, Arthur was a Master, an human being of rare sensibility. I also missing him.

He seems like a Big Head to me.

I'm sorry, I'm just really upset that people have took the piss out of me and disregarded me for being thick all my life!
I would like to be a Dr of philosophy, or a director of manned space flights at NASA, or an essayist on black hole thermodynamics or all of these things!
I just don't like people who snub me because they think I am unintelligent.
I am a Very, Very Intelligent Person!

I suppose there may be people in the world who were more and are more intelligent than me.
      I don't know.

Such a gracious human being. I’d bump into him on the street while working on my Columbia advance degrees and we’d walk and talk about art and philosophy. Once we watched an ice sculpture melting in front of St. John the Divine, and I remember wishing I had a recorder so I could capture the perceptive remarks he was making.

Arthur were monthly companions over coffee either at his place more often my place or in Riverside P - I last saw him in the hospital in 2013 then left NYC - we knew each other (with Barbara) for about six years - my stay in NY - most of which we lived next to each other - this video & others bring him back to me wonderfully - i made a few videos of him to - i once put them on TH-cam but i dont know where they are today - lost in cynberspace

For me, this video is proof that the area of philosophy for Arthur Danto is for the fun in it.

What if there are two indishtinguishable works of art, one an original and one a forgery? What is the important difference between THEM?

Would it be possible for you to add subtitles to the video? Or a transciption in the comments? Im a little bit hard of hearing and people who are worse than me, or deaf, would absolutely appreciate the effort!

Yeah, that’s an unfathomable non sequitur! Wittgenstein, clarity, two nouns which simply do not belong together.

A graphic Artist is robbed of his fame, by another graphic artist and later a philosopher tells the story and he too has his 15 seconds of fame. Art is parasitic.

A somewhat reductive conception of how the story behind the Brillo Boxes went, don’t you think?
