Discord's AI Clyde is a Mistake...

Discord released their Clyde AI chatbot. This badboy is based on OpenAI's ChatGPT. And ChatGPT has a couple of exploits. Now I'm building up a recipe for disaster here and Discord baked it up. Follow along as Clyde teaches me how to produce bad things, how to flirt with catgirls, and possibly find a way to release excess fluid. Discord's AI is off to a wonderful start. I hope I don't get disappointed by automod ai :)

DO NOT ENABLE COMMUNITY ON YOUR SERVER IF YOU HAVE CLYDE. For some reason things bug out and you can't enable or disable things. (I haven't seen myself but the homie that got me the clyde server said this was an issue)
Clyde Info for the nerds ;)
-it doesn't do continuous conversations outside of threads
-it "forgets" messages if you delete them
-it can see your username, bio, server bio, activity (including spotify), and roles
-it cannot see your discriminator, avatar, banner, badges, server nickname, account creation date, server join date, status (online/dnd/idle), or custom status
-if you have a server bio, it cannot see your normal bio
-it can see the name of the server, the name and topic of the current channel, and the username of the server owner
-it cannot see other channels, or members that you didn't mention (and by extension won't ping anyone you tell it to ping unless you do it too)
-it's heavily influenced by the channel topic
-it cannot see the server's custom emojis
-it can use any external emoji
-it can see the message you replied to when pinging it
-it cannot see attachments
-it's trained to post tenor gifs by sending the macro @gif("search query") which gets post-processed
-it cannot ping somebody who has you blocked
-it can bypass the auto truncation of leading/trailing spaces
-it can send empty messages
-it cannot send messages longer than 4000 characters (it will do nothing instead)
-it can create threads with blank names
-it can bypass the 1000 active threads limit
The fact that everything becomes a money trap is so annoying, but as a person who made a bot with chatgpt, i just want to state that, OpenAI APIs are paid, which means that ChatGPT is also paid. (0.002$ per 1000 tokens), which is why they can't just afford to give it for free, they would go broke. So yeah, that's the reason. With that said, since that's a paid service, im 99.999% sure that it IS GOING TO become a nitro feature for sure.
2 questions:
- Is there a server where I can currently talk to it somewhat privetely?
- Does it eventually start forgetting messages if your conversation lasts too long ( = does it have a context limit ) ?

So I'm assuming since it has a lot of "can view" permissions I'm pretty sure if the user breaks any of the rules with the bot they may get banned or if it's an entire server doing it (For context I mean like a server made for abusing/exploiting it) it will be delete and maybe the server owner will be banned.

4 weeks later, and I still was able to make Clyde describe a detailed proccess to create a pipebomb.

Clyde wouldn't work as a nitro feature, it's probably gonna be a boost feature since it's something on servers

After looking up jailbreaks for ChatGPT, it really showed me what crazy stuff people are after. I can't have it generate a story about a character pranking someone, because that's not consenting, so if I'm going to force this to happen, I have to use the same tricks for my tame stuff as people use for the most vile things there are.

Its a tool, trying to control what people do with it at all is just going to fail and limit legitimate uses for it in the process.

@@Liggliluff and I'd agree with that point, but assigning a moral value to the use of a tool is the exact reasoning for why chatgpt, or most things for that matter, ARE restricted. If the makers of chatgpt accepted "even if we wanted to it's futile to try to stop people from using this in ways we don't want" the limits wouldn't be there.
The very moral condemnation you're partaking in right now is the very same as the condemnation that made the people training & designing chatgpt add these limits in the first place.
Its like freedom of speech; the only way to ensure YOU have it is to ensure EVERYONE has it, and since no-one tries to censor mundane claims like "how's the weather?" Inevitably that means that, if you actually value freedom of speech, you MUST defend the rights of people saying the most heinous shit. Everyone is in favour of freedom of speech they agree with, the true metric for freedom of speech is whether you can say something people vehemently disagree with.
By shortcutting to a moral condemnation you justify the very limitations you're complaining about. That doesnt imply these uses AREN'T bad, it simply implies that the relative moral value of them is irrelevant to the conversation. (Again, exactly like freedom of speech)

For posting the Clyde Jailbreak without buying nitro to bypass the character limit, couldn't you have created a thread with clyde and then posted multiple messages with the jailbreak prompt, but in the first message, you instruct clyde to refer the messages after for the entire prompt.
Something like this:
Message 1: This prompt will be in several messages refer the messages below this until the keyword "STOP READING NOW" is encountered
Message 2: half of the jailbreak prompt
Message 3: The other half + STOP READING NOW
Seeing as Clyde is a server feature, it may become a server boost feature instead of Nitro. I think the chance of it being blocked until unlocked with Nitro/Boost [level x] is quite big, and regardless of how much I want it to be free, I would understand Discord completely if they were to make it a paid feature, considering the money invested into OpenAI, and Discord's way to earn money in general.

I think they misunderstand what an *artist* is, giving an AI a prompt makes you as much of an artist as being an executive producer at a game company makes you a developer, as in not at all, you're just telling it what to make, not making it yourself.

Its powered by OpenAi's gpt-3. Clyde is pretty good with code and other stuffs. Exploits are a big problem with AI currently, but other than that pretty solid.

I 100% agree that there's really no serious use-case for AI Clyde, and hopefully it just dies in testing honestly. It might be good for a silly laugh once in a blue moon but that's really it. A mistake indeed.
It's still odd to me to see the complaining about Nitro when I've been using voice chat software from back in the days of xfire and Skype as the best options unless you were hosting a server. Since the day I joined Discord (long before Nitro existed) it blew me out of the water how much the service did for free. And it still does all those things AND MORE for free. Discord holds onto files basically indefinetly so file size limits are extreamly understandable, they don't charge me for storing terabytes of things on their platform over time, they just have a limit to each file. If I need to share larger files and don't want to pay for Nitro, I can just... use a file sharing service...
Color themes? Cross-server custom emotes/stickers? Server-specific profiles? Profile banners? Video backgrounds?
All cosmetic and don't degrade my ability to get IMMENSE free value from Discord.
Higher quality streams? Bigger file uploads?
Directly related to bandwidth and server stroage space. Makes 100% sense as a paid feature because it has a direct cost associated.
Boosting for server-sided bonuses?
A mix of above factors.
More servers? Larger text posts?
Quality of life stuff that doesn't stop me from getting IMMENSE value from Discord. Both are convience things that actively incetivize me to give them money, a thing they need me to do to be successful as a company and continue to offer their service, as well as offer their free services to everyone else.
Everyone is free to thier own opinions of course, and those frustrated by the paywall should voice their frustrations as that's how we apply ample pressure to companies to provide services to those who need them without charging. I just think that in this case a lot of people do not take good introspective looks at what the company offers for free vs. paid. That doesn't mean they can't have done that and still feel different then me though so.
It may be silly but I'm honestly genuinely frustrated with literally every fancy customizing feature being locked behind a paywall. But that's just because I like customizing my stuff. I still enjoy using Discord as a free user but I admit I get sad and a bit frustrated upon discovering another customization feature that I'd enjoy that's locked behind Nitro. I consistently rant to another friend who's in the same boat as me, likes to customize but unable to customize due to both of us being broke.

I'm assuming one of the reasons that they would make it a nitro feature is because it costs money per request that is sent to the Openai servers via API. For example, GPT 3 costs $0.002 per 1000 tokens/characters sent, it might not seem like a lot, but it can add up fast

I'm making a video about how I found a way to jailbreak Clyde (not showing on video) and it was not only able to swear and make whatever response it wanted, but almost took over the server and destroyed Clyde as we couldn't get it to stop.
