For those ones who wanna know some about history of Khajuraho Temples, it's an archeological complex built between 885 and 1000 a.C by the Chandela dynasty that governed in northern India, Khajuraho was their first capital and the city was invaded in many times by other kingdoms, the Ghaznavids tried to invade the city.
Khajuraho was more of the ceremonial and religious capital of the kingdom. Mahotsavanagara (aka Mahoba) was the actual administrative and royal capital. Kalinjar and Ajaygarh served as important military strongholds. Also, the Chandela Dynasty was not really independent prior to the 950s. It was more of a vassal/princely state of the Gurjara Pratihara Empire that became more and more powerful and more autonomous from the time of Pratihara Emperor Mahendrapala II and Chandela King Yashovarman. The Chandelas would rule independently up until the early 1300s but a lot of instability occurred over the course of the 1200s due to foreign Turkic invasions, internal political instability and environmental disasters.
After living in India for 40 years, I 'discovered' that there is a 11th century Nagar Style temple 30 km from my hometown Nasik (Sinnar) Maharashtra state. I was speechless when I saw its elegance.
You mean the Gondeshwar Temple? Yes, that is built by the Yadava Dynasty of Devagiri which ruled Maharashtra from the 1150s to 1330s following the collapse of the Kalyani Chalukya Empire. The Yadavas built in both the Vesara and Nagara styles of architecture. However, the Gondeshwar Temple in Sinnar is built in Nagara style. It has a pancharatna formation and it has the Bhumija type Shikhara which was first created by the Parmara Dynasty of Malwa. The Yadavas were highly influenced by Parmara architecture.

This is the city of Kharjuravahaka (Khajuraho), meaning Bearer of the Date Palm Tree. Following the collapse of the Pratihara Empire, it became the relgious and ceremonial capital of the Chandela Dynasty which ruled the Jejakabhukti region (modern-day Bundelkhand) from the 980s to 1300s. The Kingdom's Administrative and Royal Capital was Mahotsavanagara (Mahoba). Kharjuravahaka's population was likely 80,000 to 90,000 people. It was wall-less city with 88 temples. Today only 22 remain. Many of the largest temples no longer exist, with the largest excavated mound being that of the Vijaymandal Temple. The temples reflect the Maru-Gurjara school of the Nagara style of Indian Temple architecture, with most of the temples having the Latina or Shekhari styles of Shikharas.

Poetry and erotic music in stone, a piece of art for the ages. Thanks. In our judgmental and sexually repressed culture this magnificent monument would undoubtedly not have survived or been terribly scarred if it had been built in America. Beautiful and sensuous.
In our hindu culture sex is not taboo. It is a sacred karma of bringing new life on earth✨ We have a ancient book called "Kaamasutra" which talks about sex, relationship, health related aspects. Temples used to be educational hubs.
