Got one. Had it for a month so far. Granted I have no other ev experience to compare it to but I love it. Managing 3.5 kWh and the kids like it and the dog fits in the boot. I drive from hull to Scunthorpe everyday and occasionally hull to Leeds. Never needed a fast charge yet but I tried it once when the car was already at 60% and was getting 88kw but I only used it for a minute to try it out. So far so good

Crazy that Toyota have a paint that looks white when stationary but gray when moving

We have had our BZ4X for a month now in Australia. It is a great car and do catch people looking at it, we love the car but we wish the charging port was in the rear than near the front, but still love the car

Car reviewer invariably comment on the back seat, saying it is too small, no headroom...etc., but I have never seen four adults in a car in my life. Even if couple, wife owns her car.
Two passengers are either a couple or friends, in which case they are in the passenger seat; a family of four with two children in the back seat, and if the owner is tired, the wife takes over driving but does not sit in the back seat.
    I am Japanese.

Do you never car share to work, or go on road trip holidays with your friends?

@@BuckleUpShow For example, if eight friends go on an overnight trip, even if all eight people have their own cars, they will go in four cars, two in each, taking turns driving. Car sharing is not common in Japan. If a large factory employing 500 people has a small parking lot, the company will outsource to a private bus company the operation of a dedicated bus on the factory route.

I have 4 or 5 adult sized people in my car all the time. 4 kids and my boys are 192 and 188 cm tall, my girls are about 175 and 170 cm tall. So for me it is very important that the car has a large back seat. Driving a Kia Niro EV at the moment and it is surprisingly roomy in the back.

Tried one and wasn’t impressed especially given the price there are much better cars out there, especially the Kona

It's a bag of shit. I gave mine back after 8 months due to the computer just stopping, the 12v battery going flat every few days. The mileage is nowhere near Toyotas numbers

What have you replaced it with

Went back to ICE. Kia Sportage. I lost £28k on the bz4x. Paid £63k for the premier edition. Sold it for £38k

      >>> I had a Yaris hybrid - left it unused for 2 weeks and it wouldn’t start as the 12V battery was flat; happened again and then found out this is a known problem.

Great video. As an owner of one of these in the US, I can say that there are no truly bad new cars, unless you’re talking about something like Ford Pinto back in 1970s. There are cars that are not worth the manufacture’s price. This one is not worth the $47,000 MSRP, but when Toyota started throwing $16,000 incentive, plus all the electric vehicle discounts at these, the price became unbeatable. I am leasing one of these with $4500 down, and $130 a month, with 12,000 miles a year for three years. at this price, I couldn’t be happier and, I get a buyout option at the end, where I can keep it for $21,000.
Also, it’s a Toyota. While Tesla’s fate remains unclear what with Elon Musk’s capricious nature, Toyota is very likely to be around for many years to come, so warranty and service are not an issue. Besides, Tesla service is beginning to suck in the US, big time . From being no questions asked, here’s your loaner vehicle kind of service, it went to long wait and driving far to have your vehicle serviced, plus no loaner experience.
