  • Sporting 170mm of plush travel front and year, the La Sal Peak has been fully redesigned from the previous edition with new kinematics and a new look. The dramatically improved aesthetics are what the kids these days might call a "glow up", but does this new Fezzari shine on the trail?

    I have the La Sal Peak, my normal ride is a 3.7 mile climb with 1600 feet of elevation gain, then single track down Troy Lee Trail, that trail is hammered! I’ve ridden it over 190 times on various bikes, got my fastest time on the Fezzari La Sal Peak, even beat my time I did on a Giant Glory DH bike, super happy with the Fezzari!

    It sounds like the "you want an enduro bike but it's also your only bike" bike. It also sounds like an enduro bike designed for Utah, Colorado or interior BC, rather than Whistler, North Shore or Bellingham, as the Rockies tend to have more undulating and varied terrain, especially Utah where you have everything from the big downhills of Park City to the trials-y tech of Moab.

      That's a pretty good description, but don't discount it for big park stuff. I've had my La Sal for a little over a year now and I love. Sure it's no DH bike, but I don't think that's a bad thing, since it makes you ride a little smarter not being able to just monster truck over everything on the trail

      @@thesaucedoctor How are you liking the La Sal thus far? I'm currently riding a hardtail and am either going to purchase the Delano Peak or La Sal. The differences between the two seem subtle and are mainly in the travel category. The bike would serve as a race bike and travel companion to Arkansas, Colorado, Utah, and the likes of those places. Any input on why you chose the La Sal over the other bikes Fezzari offers?

    Bought one during the Black Friday sale. 4706 after taxes got me a super deluxe, top model ZEB, Code RSCs, pnw dropper, ergon grips and saddle (saddle is my favorite part, stans flow wheel set, descendant cranks, and a real nice cane creak headset. Only cheapo parts is the house brand stem and bars which I have no problem with. Compared to the carbon gx spire I rode 4 times on demo the kit is better being that the la sal has more name brand parts over TR using many anvil parts who I think makes not so great parts based on my experiences. Comparing TRs 6,800 BEFORE tax spire and the 4,700 la sal I have zero regret. Don’t forget that equipment really doesn’t make you a better rider

    The ability to 'ala carte' your parts selection isn't nearly as easy and straight forward as the marketing and this review would have you believe. I wanted the base model La Sal 2.0 with an upgrade to the GX drivetrain... Couldn't do it without a LONG delay. Same story with a swap to 27.5+ wheels. So rather than a few hundred dollars for a couple upgrades, I had to upgrade to the next build level (Elite) for another $1,000.00. It's a great bike and spec'd similarly to bikes costing $1500-2,000.00 more. I hope to get many years of faithful service from it.

      Agreed, the Delano and La Sal have good component selection for their price range. You essentially get a modern carbon frame for the price of an alloy one. They save where you don't want to put your money and invest where you want the performance. A good example is the low end Delano having an NX drivetrain with a GX derailleur. They're paying attention to what consumers want. Making a review for this bike with a kashima coating build and saying that its not a budget friendly bike was silly. I'm sure if they were on an Elite the video would be very different.

    • @cameronlivermore9408
      @cameronlivermore9408 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm on the $4k build and couldn't be happier. Last bike was a Transition Spur GX build but realized I'd underbiked myself for the new trails in my area and "downgraded" to the lower cost DVO La Sal Peak. DVO suspension is best I've ridden, NX is fine and hasn't been an issue, and I climb about 95% as fast on the lsp as I did on the spur but have 10x more fun downhill. Honestly I can't say enough good about the bike. It feels like a steal. The DVO parts would cost about $1700 alone if bought new separately.
