I love my 450, got the weathered version too but only once it went down in price. Initial model had to go back as it kept derailing and was something in that specific model, KMRC swapped it direct for a fresh one that ran fine. Great review of it too.
Excellent set and video EuvRail - I brought the non weathered version around £220 about a year ago - still displaying it as static display; as currently don't have an assembled layout yet.
Just acquired a new 450. Clicking sound was an issue and had to remove front and rear couplings as occasional derailing occurred . Have both 350s and now love this 450 too.
SWT originally ordered 100 (later upped to 110) 450 units with had 3+2 in Standard & 2+2 in First. They then ordered a further 32 with 2+2 in Standard & 2+1 first seating. These were then declined by SWT & went instead to Silver Linken Midland Railways as the Class 350/1 and were set up for 25Kv & 750V DC running. SWT then ordered 17 more 450 units with 3+2 & 2+2 seating(450111-127). All 450 & 444 units are maintained at Northam Depot near Southampton. Also, 127 was named about 2 years ago to "Dave Gunson" on the DMC1 car.

One slight inaccuracy at 22:44 though; the class 350/1 models do feature third rail pick up shoes as they were dual voltage units (until recently), your model is of a 350/2, which correctly lacks this feature. Nonetheless I find your videos to be among the best for such reviews 👍
Thank you for answering my question the other day. Do you know if it is possible to remove the clear plastic insert that forms the window glazing? What I'm getting at is I'd like to dip the bodies and repaint them with my own livery.
Thanks for the excellent review. If I want to make the model DCC, do I need to install one or two decoders please? If I want to install a sound do I need a sound decoder AND a normal decoder?
Thanks Clive. The good news is that only decoder is required as it is installed in one of the central cars and all four cars are electrically connected. So either one DCC or one DCC sound decoder will do the job.

Euvirail, How did you get you hand on this model? all of the 450's are sold out! there is only the 350's left and the 450 is avalible by grahm farish only. Maybe bachmann should bring this model back and maybe the should make a class 360 model too
@@TanVasinTrains I'm surprised they haven't re-released though the first batch didn't sell well initially - it was priced too high. In terms of the Class 360 and Class 700, my vote would go for the Class 700 as a more widespread and current configuration.
Good to hear Alan There can be a bit of a bow on the drawbars and 1-2mm the wrong way can be a source of trouble. They give you a spare one so swapping them around did the trick.
@@EuviRail - I keep the 350 & 450 permanently connected. Lifting 4 cars with 2 hands not that easy. I intend to make a long L shaped piece of wood so I can slide my 4 car units off the track. (5 car 800 unit even more problematic-can't be lifted with 2 hands). Having a vast fiddle yard would also solve the problem.

I own a class 350 but because of the price of the 450 which I’m looking to get in just gonna order the 450 shell and swap it onto my 350 chassis

I picked this up from Kernow a few years ago. It's probably a 4-5 year old model at this point and unfortunately Bachmann haven't re-run it since.

I agree its likely a tolerance manufacturing issue. I got a 350 and a 450 and have no issues.
