I have the mk2 shortwheel base with that same engine, it was naturally aspirated but I got fed up how painfully slow it was, after some digging I found the turbo and manifolds on facebook marketplace. I thought the installation was straight bolt in but it wasn't so easy, after few modifications I had it working and now I'm very happy with the results even though I still have some room for improvement. that's a robust little engine, very reliable and able to take some punishment.
Hi there, nice Pajero ! I have the short wheelbase of the year 1990 , (first owner !) , 2500 intercooler turbo 95 hp / 235 Nm. The "choke" beneath the steering wheel , is a manual operated throttle, so you can let the engine run faster , when using a winch for example. Greetings from the Netherlands !
It's not mine unfortunately, Same guy owns it from new, The tax in Ireland drops from over 1000 euro a year on it to 56 euro next year as it will be 30 years old so I'd say hel hold on to it for now. Clean Mk 1s getting hard to find as I'm sure you know.

I did not known there ware non turbo Pajero
Yeah same engine as the l300 vans,
Take that 2.5 out and chuck a straight 6 turbo diesel in. 12ht!
