She is too amazing for words. She has it all! Combining excellent technique with that that gorgeous smoky tone. She sings this song (and several others!) better than anyone else I've listened to. And that final D6 is un-freaking-believable.
Someone recommended this to me and thank God they did. The most glorious voice just soaring away. No one will ever match that sound it is so breathtalkingly beautiful and rich. I just can't say enough about the one and only Leontyne Price.
When I first heard this years ago, the music was new to me and Price was in glorious sweet floating exprssive voice and that final high D just knocked me for a loop.
Do you know how many times I have listened this opera? with how many singers? But this is just the best interpretation!!! I am really excited!! what voice quality!!!
She makes everything sound so easy! Her voice is pristine and pure gold

Her high D is extremely forced
This is simply stunning. The vocal quality is shimmering throughout.

Thrilling! The D at the end of this recording is much better than her live 1970 rendering.

Soprano, Leontyne Price
Queen Of Them All!
And She Shall Reign Forever!
She's no queen. She forced her voice too much

Our Dearest And Grandest
Madame Leontyne Price
Merveilleux !
Centrata in pieno la natura orgiastica dell'aria. Immensa e sfolgorante la prestazione vocale. Irripetibile oggi, purtroppo!
lovely
Holy crap! Amazing!
Copyrighted 1970, a selection on the Prima Donna Vol. 3 album.
Here's how it should be sung.
What about Beverly Sills
@@WelshHomo87 Sills of course, in her early years.
This also shows off her trill. I like her so much better than Fleming who wishes she was Price in her prime
That’s not a proper trill.
The clean and precise technique of Leontyne Price without all of the scooping, sliding and affected manners of Renée Fleming.
Sills never scooped
@@WelshHomo87 No, she just wobbled all over the place.
