    Well...I have this saw...and you guys should mention a few things that you missed...as for safety, you have the blade too low in the cut in your demo cutting...it should stick out about the height of the teeth to prevent binding and possible kick back, also I noticed you removed the guard, (I don't blame you, they're all a pain)...BUT the riving knife should always remain for through cuts!! The riving knife on this saw has an easy single lever adjustment to adjust it up or down. It's function is to keep the material against the fence during a cut, and is the single most important thing, if you're going to remove the guard assembly, to prevent kick back and the plywood cut shows it absent...the fence is fully adjustable, the clamping force of the fence is also, but a bit of a pain to get to and adjust accurately. Mine was way too loose out of the box.I have used the Dewalt, Makita, Bosch, Skil, and Kobalt, and this is my fave hands down. Rips up to 35" to the right, handles a full size Dado stack, (longer arbor)...and plenty of power for a jobsite saw. The stock blade is just barely OK, as compared to a quality blade like a Freud Fusion, and you'll notice a big difference with a decent blade. The built in cart is sturdy, and has an adjustable foot to help on uneven surfaces...this saw weighs close to 100 pounds, which is a GOOD thing for a jobsite saw. Well built, well thought out...recommended, especially if you can find it on sale like I did!

    Have you seen their new brushless stuff? They just released their new brushless 18v sawzall and it looks sweet! Plus they just made an “affordable battery program” where the 3ah slim pack is now only $39.99 instead of like $80 or whatever it was.

    Boy does that look like a green DeWalt saw. Looks and seems to preform just like the Dewalt. Nice saw.

    Got the same model. After so many times of using the cranking handle for the blades the gears give up since its just made of plastic. Had to replace and works great again.

    Just bought it at lowes 2 weeks ago...the deal maker for me was the massive size of the table ( up to 36" rip cuts )which I need for cabinet making... pros, massive table size, (largest ive seen in portables) stand is on wheels, on board tools the price was a deal breaker....cons very heavy @96 lbs., was prepared to spend 549.00 on the dewalt DWE7491RS, but this one at 329.00 was it hands down! For all this I figure I'd suffer with its weight issue to get everything else!

    It looks like a pretty nice and fairly compact saw. I like the extending out feed support.

      Andrew Browner they never do, more like tools inaction 😂 have never seen them use them on projects it’s like it’s a hobby to do unboxing vids of tools they never use . This channel would hold more weight if they were tradies themselves but I think their at best blokes diy try hardship that like collecting tools more that they know how to use them.

      yeah i feel like the hours ive put just on my favorite angle grinder is more than the hours theyve put on every tool theyve shown combined.. than again that probably goes for everyone with a favorite angle grinder

    Is this the kind of table saw you would buy for a small shop or a garage? I'm not really worried about portability, just don't want/need a huge table saw to start out with

    How does this compare to the new larger Skil Saw worm drive?

    • @Toolsinaction
      @Toolsinaction  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm good question

    • @DanA-vn9zz
      @DanA-vn9zz 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      One difference between the Skil worm-drive table saw and the Hitchi (and nearly all other tables saws, for that matter) is depth of cut. The Skil is 3½" depth at 90°, while other brands allow only around 3¼". The deeper cut allows you to re-saw 2x4s, 4x4s, 4x6s, etc., in one pass typically (or at least theoretically).
      Another difference is rip capacity. Hitachi: 35". Skil: 25" (still enough to rip 4'x8' plywood in half).
      Yet another difference is torque. The worm-drive by its nature has more torque than most other saws. This could be a benefit when going through thick, dense, wet lumber.

    • @garykarczewski6678
      @garykarczewski6678 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      According to the Skilsaw Website on the larger worm drive saw the rip capacity is 30.5 inches. The depth is important. How do you think the table surface is and the rip fence? Would you consider this saw strong enough in design to be a good shop saw as well?

    You know I have that table saw and I got the dewalt and Hitachi have like 3 more features than Dewalt. #1 more cutting capacity. #2 the outside support. #3 when off the saw. Stop very quickly.

    • @MintStiles
      @MintStiles 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cutting capacity isn’t really an issue in most circumstances beyond 24”. I personally would be using a tracksaw for these applications anyhow. The support is like 6” extra, not sure if it matters in most cases. The only BIG advantage for me is a brake if what you stated is the case. Waiting for a table saw really sucks - I always do since I am safety nut. The components looks awfully similar and the R&P fence is a DeWalt patent. I wonder what the durability is like.

    • @MintStiles
      @MintStiles 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Moon Pie sounds about right, with a few exceptions like nailers, Hitachi is always a few small steps behind one guy or another. I have a 7491 and 745, both are very easy to use and serves my needs.

      I don't know, something about SawStop trying to make its system mandatory on all table saws. Personally I think The SawStop portable is an awesome saw!

    • @inspiretl
      @inspiretl 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bosch came out with the REAXX saw 15 years later which is a better design, but somehow Saw Stop says they infringe on their patent?!?! I have a REAXX table saw and Bosch is not allow to sell those model anymore, had to buy a extra cartridge just in case that gets pulled off the market.

    • @DarkRaptor99
      @DarkRaptor99 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think its really messed up they can't even offer replacement cartridges. Bosch should have refunded some of the purchase price to the people that bought it.
