I bought one similar to yours on Amazon (US) last month for $18 and cut a tree branch about 20 cm (8 inches) in diameter, and the branch was about 5 meters above ground; so I had to tie the saw onto paracord and cut it down from standing on the ground. That's its biggest advantage in my view: being able to cut down branches higher up the tree while you stay on the ground.
