Mike keep up the work man! its a grind I am one year in and I still want to keep up the pace I am going. Its getting to 110 out here but I got use to it now. Hope you enjoyed your July 4th and played as much as I did.
The Grint tells me the same thing (36 hdcp) on driving accuracy of 46% It’s funny Garmin says I’m way above average with driver compared to my handicap… 🤷♂️
You have potential. One thing you should work on is not rotating so much in your back swing and take the club more straight back and straight through. Make sure you keep generating lag
I normally shoot low 80s. I started hitting duck hooks off the tee box and was really struggling. I played with one of my buddies and he said my hips were opening up before my hands got there. As soon as he said it, it instantly clicked and I felt myself doing it. I just started swinging with my arms and waiting to rotate until after I made contact and I was instantly back to hitting it straight every time. Every club improved. You are rotating too much and aren't consistent with it. Start there I think it will help you too.
Funny thing is this is something I started working on this last week. I know I rotate too much, but habits are hard to break. Probably time for another set of lessons with my pro!
Wasn’t keeping score, but actually had several pars as I skipped around the course. I got the new course announcement a while back. Funny thing is last time I played Trails I yanked my tee shot (36 handicap!) on #2 up into the dunes. When I got up there I thought “man, this would make some incredible golf holes”, so pretty excited to find out they’re doing it.
@@MikeGolfsOregon I’ve been trying to contemplate if I want to do Pebble Beach for my 50th, or if I want to spend a week in Bandon and play as much golf as possible. I’ve got 4 years to decide 😁
@@DoubleBogeyBass I didn't know those were my choices! I've only walked PB during a Champions event, and even though it's incredible I'd still go BD over it. I've only got 6 more months of being 50 left, but thankfully I'll be hitting Bandon again this year just a month before 51, so I guess I got it covered.
My driving stats are getting better as I’ve started to limit the times I hit driver during my rounds. I generally pull driver out on 4-5 holes during my round of 18 at the home course. Lots of driving iron and 3/4/5 irons for me to score well. Thanks for watching.
Actually, I haven't. I'm rocking nothing new and nothing exciting: Callaway XR16 driver, Haywood driving iron, Cobra 3100 I/H irons (3-pw), Titleist 52* and Wilson 56* wedges, and my trusty ol' Tostitos putter. Yeah, it's a Tostitos putter.
Shorten your backswing significantly… work on flattening your lead wrist at the top … and then rotate through the shot with good balance. And You’ll be in the 80’s in no time.
Nothing new, exciting, or sexy. - Callaway XR16 driver 9* with HZRDUS im10 shaft - Haywood Golf SDI (signature driving iron) turned to 16* - Cobra 3100 i/h irons 3-pw - half of them still have their damping inserts, and the other half have fallen out. - Titleist Vokey 52* - Wilson Harmonized 56* - Knockoff Ping Anser-style putter I received as a company gift in 1996 - it will be the last club I ever take out of my bag.

Thanks for the encouragement, I'm not quitting anytime soon! Stay cool!
nice
Thanks. It's a mentally full contact sport.

For me it certainly feels like the Grint’s number is accurate. I have significant struggles from the tee on a consistent basis.
@@MikeGolfsOregon
I don’t feel like I have trouble from the tee.
My trouble is on and around the greens…
All you have to do is strike the back of the ball with a square club face every time at impact.
Good luck 😁
If only someone had told me this at the start! Thank you internet!
@@MikeGolfsOregon 😆
It sounds so easy doesn’t it 😄
@@gdawg4ever119 It's a ridiculous ask of a mere mortal such as I.
@@MikeGolfsOregon Hey if I can do it one out of 72 times you can too 😄

Thank you. Like a lot of golfers, I have a tendency to over-exaggerate movements I think I’m supposed to be doing. Rotation is definitely o e of them.

Solid par to end! Nice Bandon Trails pullover, I'm sure you heard about the new par 3 course?
