What about that Oblivion scene with Bloom from Mystery of the Abyss? It would've been darker if not for the pacing, mediocre dialogue, and the other characters? Bloom was going through emotional torture while the other five were... not? At least, I don't think. The thing I found the deepest was the girls' reactions when they found out they had to go to Oblivion to head to the Infinite Ocean(?) if I recall correctly. They were terrified! Especially when Fairagonda (Might've spelled her name wrong) said that no one's ever made it out of Oblivion. The Winx weren't sure if they were gonna make it out either. I don't think I've ever seen them react to a situation like that before, honestly.

Unfortunately for this theory, water in Willows waterfall was corrupted at that moment, that's why Miele and Flora didn't get younger like the Trix did at the end of episode. Flora healed the waters using her fairy dust. Personally I wonder whether the characters could do something to soothe the Willows sadness.
I think that could very well be the case, cuz we see flora getting her enchantix right after the scene of the willow weeping. This does heavily indicate that it was the tear that turned the time back and saved flora

And one thing I think is most important about Flora's sacrifice is that she actually DIES, but from witnessing what happened, the willow tree cries a tear and restores its time altering properties which causes Flora to "go back in time" and brings her back to life.. SHE DIED
I love when shows that are usually wholesome have these rare but very impactful dark moments. Just give me chills and goosebumps in the best way possible!
Thank you for this reminder, these dark moments are exactly part of the reason why winx is stil one of my favorite franchises to this day, because first 4 seasons didn't treat their audience like we're some stupid kids who are only satisfied with a sugarry fluffy world of happiness, these and other moments from you previous list carried the show for me.
One that gets overlooked a lot (in my opinion) is when Mirta stands up to the Trix in the Cloud Tower cafeteria in Season 1. She questions why witches "have" to hate fairies, and Darcy conjures a ball of goop over her nose and mouth in front of the entire student body (and presumably at least a few teachers) to suffocate her for speaking up. So she's choking, Lucy's panicking, and . . . no one else does a damn thing. It shows that A) the Trix have already cowed the rest of the students into submission, and B) the teachers are either too scared of them to step in or just don't care if the children in their care live or die. Kinda shocking, especially since this was really early in the series.
Yeah, but i hope its dark like these stories and not like whatever Fate did. "We're a dark show for teens and adults that like Winx ...engaging plots and character arcs? No, we have sex scenes, weed and drug references, gore, and swearing! You know. Like Winx Club!" -_-

Back in the days shows for kids actually had grown up plot in them like cursing etc but however it all went vanilla since 2012 for me winx club does not exists after season 4. they really ruined a show which could go much deeper and prettier but instead A lot of nonsense started to happen starting w s 5. Like there were so many ways to expand the magic . I remember that labyrinth episode from season 3 which was just absolutely stunning them being out in the universe in a flying labyrinth w ancestors etc..
Out of all scenes mentioned here, Glatea's one still feels really underrated. I think this was the first (and last time?) the dramatic zoom in cuts were used in the show, the one right after her wings shattered. She's surrounded in total darkness when she collapsed and that blank hopeless expression that also may have been the first and only time in the show she had on her when Musa was carrying her to safety (her not even responding to what Musa is saying to her as well). And as the icing (no pun intended) of the cake her wanting Musa leave her behind in a fire could be argued that this is the first and only time a character in the show was implied to be legit (borderline) suicidal. But that's obvioulsy me loving to read into things xD Great vid!
I noticed that too. I believe the reason it's so underrated is because the severity of the situation isn't quite delivered, perhaps on purpose to keep it a kid's show. If they had wanted to go a darker route (and make Galantea a more important character), they could've let her lose her wings for longer to explore the effect it has on her and how fairy wings work. However, I do understand that season 3 didn't have time for such an arc as it already very packed.
True about the Nemesises. To be honest I think if given the chance Flora's nemesis could've been way darker. Cause Flora has been shown to feel both physical and mental pain when plants are hurt, like in the first movie or in S4 when she had fainted because of the pain she felt from deforestation were too much for her.

Some other moments that deserves a spot here imo from season 7: -the trix abusing their fairy animals and forcing them to merge with them -the winx's fairy animals merging and becoming the infinity swan, which means they can never go back to being individual animals and can no longer be bonded with the winx, and the girls basically losing their fairy animals and never be able to see them again. -the winx using the stone of memories to create a portal to limbo where the trix are dragged with weird tentacles, kinda reminds me of yoshikage kira's death in jojo's bizarre adventures part 4 -klashara verbally abusing her brother Brafilius all the time and her falling into the limbo portal after being confronted by wild fairy animals defending Brafilius -Brafilius being stuck as a dog for the rest of his life to teach him a lesson 💀 Season 5: -Nereus's death and Aisha using her sirenix wish to bring him back to life instead of bringing Nabu back. (I assume he died) -Sky's memory loss. Even though I hate his character and I think the whole arc about him losing his memories over some stupid necklace he lost that he wanted to give to Bloom was boring and insufferable to watch until it was concluded, I admit the thought of losing his memories and having to live as some prince while being a boyfriend to a fairy and helping to fight a mutant merman who threatens the seas of the magic universe is too much to deal with. -Musa not using her sirenix wish and not bringing back her mom because she thinks it's the wrong thing to do :( -Daphne being imprisoned by Tritanus and him stealing her sirenix powers from her and giving it to the trix -Stella's parents constant arguing in front of her and the way it affected her. Also I kinda think it's messed up that she had to use her sirenix wish to make them understand each other, which sort of robs them off their autonomy if you think about it. Season 6: -Stella being possessed by the mirror in "queen for a day" and turning against her friends and helping the trix and witches, her friends don't know about the mirror so they assume it's being a queen getting to her head and don't know how to help her. She had to help herself and was all alone in that and everyone was either against her or using her. Season 8: -all the stars with no cores and the dead planets with people starving because they can't plant things to eat without sunlight :( -Valtor attacking earth and the sun at once to corner Bloom and take her cosmix powers, and her saying yes. It didn't work fortunately but it's still sad

I’m sure many people think about it, but still I’ll note from myself an episode from the second season that is completely dedicated to Halloween, just think about the fact that in the first seasons they didn’t touch on such a holiday as Christmas, but they touched on Halloween, they didn’t just touch it, but made it as gloomy as possible, I mean these four faceless sisters and how they are described, and then this dude at the end with a pumpkin head if I'm not mistaken, this and everything else makes the Winx so different and makes the cartoon bold...
Honestly, when i was kid i loved Winx club. But i didn’t really understand what were they doing. I only liked the franchise when i was still a kid. But, one time when i was 9/10 years old, i decided to deep dive into the first-four seasons. And I was horrified, I didn’t know how dark it was, it shows how a wholesome, kids girly cartoon can be real and dark. Especially season 3. And that’s why season 3 is my favorite winx season of all time, it’s really mature and it shows that even an innocent girly show can be dark. I really hate when people just say that it’s probably not that dark, but when they go deep in the show, they’ll then now how the first four seasons have some horrifying and Grimm moments. And the ost of the first three seasons were amazing! It shows that the music producers have worked hard to make the ost full of feelings. I still have goosebumps at the ost where Faragonda’s cursed. Such attention to the feelings of the plot. I love the winx dearly, it’s no doubt my favorite childhood cartoon of all time. I was really sad when they lowered the age demographic, I don’t hate season 5, although it was kind of boring in the second half in my opinion. Season 6 was really underwhelming, but i did love bloomix and the songs, and the concept is top notch. But it’s just a quite childish season. Season 7 is in my opinion the worst and my least favorite winx season of all time. I think it’s cringey, and really childish. Kalshara and Brafilius are in my opinion the worst winx villians of all time. Brafilius is just on screen to entertain little kids. It’s just a really boring season. Let’s look back at the golden era of winx club, back when he had Enchantix, a stunning transformation. While the color scheme of butterflix is super garish and the designs are really tacky. While Enchantix had cohesive designs and colors were much more harmonious. I’m still quite shocked that all of this was in a kid’s tv show, but now I know that seasons 1-4 are set on a older demographic. Winx Club was, and still is my favorite kid’s franchise of all time. One dark moment in season 3 that I remember impacting me as a kid was the fact that Valtor manipulated Bloom into thinking that he had trapped Bloom's parents inside of him. And that if the Winx kill him they kill Blooms parents. Especially the scene that stuck with me was where Bloom has a nightmare where there are two mirrors, one of Valtor and the other of her parents. Valtores picture starts to get destroyed as does her parents' picture with Valtors and Bloom tries desperately to save the image of her parents.
So story time for when I was watching world of winx season two I was really young and like seven and I was feeling awful and when I got to the episode vertigo was introduced I was screaming every time she apearard there was never anything like that in last season and I just got more scared every episode.
I also rewatched season 2 the least as a kid. It scared me, and seeing Bloom like that made me really upset and uncomfortable. But holy shit, "dark raven's consort????" Cinalume was really taking no prisoners, huh. That's BRUTAL.
The wizards imprisoning the Earth fairies hundreds of years ago makes no sense though, I mean their queen Morgana had a 16 year old daughter in season 4
Time continuity isn't Winx's strong suit as Domino had the same problem with it being stated multiple times to have been destroyed 100 years prior even though Bloom was 16-17 at the time. And Faragonda, Griffin, and Saladin being dedpicted as young when the planet fell. Personally, I like the fix it fan idea that time travel was involved.
I think that magical beings age slower than regular people is the only explanation and they said the company of light is from a long time ago too its the only thing that makes sense. Adolescence they age normally than in adulthood they age super slowly.
Before this cartoon was sold to Nickelodeon, it was already like a youth series. There was no need for such nonsense as the fate winx saga. Girls are just polite, maybe for teenagers today, but I think that's enough for adult series .it's kind of like heavy anime.
No. 2 I've gotta say was my 1st taste of this since I was 10 & The TV movie from '11 had me think of one of the worst ways Darkar can turn Bloom into Katzen-eyes... I was also my 2 protagonists' living prototype back then, of course since I've grown up on satire & action tv shows & played a lot of Mario games, I thought what if my 2 heroes encountered Darkar? How would I ruin his evil plans? (Just Don't get him started on an explosive in a jar of marshmallow fluff that sabotaged his homesickness spells, Peddlers in the Relix/Realix dimension, Kyivtrix & random security checkpoints...)

I think that magical beings age slower than regular people is the only explanation and they said the company of light is from a long time ago too its the only thing that makes sense. Adolescence they age normally than in adulthood they age super slowly.

Before this cartoon was sold to Nickelodeon, it was already like a youth series. There was no need for such nonsense as the fate winx saga. Girls are just polite, maybe for teenagers today, but I think that's enough for adult series .it's kind of like heavy anime.
No. 2 I've gotta say was my 1st taste of this since I was 10 & The TV movie from '11 had me think of one of the worst ways Darkar can turn Bloom into Katzen-eyes... I was also my 2 protagonists' living prototype back then, of course since I've grown up on satire & action tv shows & played a lot of Mario games, I thought what if my 2 heroes encountered Darkar? How would I ruin his evil plans? (Just Don't get him started on an explosive in a jar of marshmallow fluff that sabotaged his homesickness spells, Peddlers in the Relix/Realix dimension, Kyivtrix & random security checkpoints...)
I also hate how bloom tried to minimize Nebula’s and Aisha’s pain.. talking about “You’ll gain nothing from violence” only if someone took Sky away from her she would turn into a crazier monster
