@@pepitabletv Those first 4 albums are GOAT'ed (not counting the first EP they turned into Killing with a Smile). How they managed to hold such a high quality and energy with every song 10 years straight before changing up is wild. BMTH is maybe the only "recent" band that comes to mind with that kind of track record.
This is the song that really got me into breakdowns and heavier sounding vocals! Don't particularly like their new stuff or listen to them anymore, but I'll be forever thankful to this song.
PWD was my shit back in the days. The good old australian riffs. Horizon was my favorite from them, even after listening to Deep Blue for the first time, but, after a couple of listens, Deep Blue became my favorite. I feel like you would most likely prefer this to Horizon, but I totally get where you come from. I personally go back to Deep Blue mainly because of the nostalgia factor. My tastes have clearly evolved towards more experimental, prog and post-hardcore music. I still jam a whole lot of basic metalcore music, but I get bored very fast.
Horizons is one of my favorite metalcore records of all time. All killer, no filler! By the way, did you react to the new song that dropped yesterday? It's the best of the three singles so far imo.
This album and Architects Daybreaker is what got me into the core scene. It will always have a special place in my heart. I don't go back listening to it all that often but I still love it for what it is.
This album is incredible Back than heavy as hell, but listening to it now I can see people having a hard time between mix and style But idk I still think its a heater
to the whole Atlas album: Dark days, wild eyer, river, swing, the blue and the grey... SO many great songs on that album. Might be my all time favorite album from any band!
I remember this era of metalcore so well.. because it wasn't the metal I was listening too.. but I joined a few guys and created a metalcore band here in Australia/Victoria.. At the time of Myspace and Emo/Hardcore scene kids getting into heavier music, WE FUCKING PACKED OUT VENUES.. And we fucking sucked haha but I'll never forget the nights of everyone losing their shit and us playing at packed pubs and bars. The band was insanely drunk as was the crowd.. but fuck, just a different era of music. Sadly missed !
Finally !!! been waiting like ages to see how you react to old PD, I get it about the part that you like more of progressive metalcore, I think you will love the title song Horizons. Wish I can join your patreon to see your full album reaction but for some reason I'm facing payment issue. Wish I can see some more clips of your reaction to Horizons in your TH-cam channel
While Horizons and Killing with a Smile can't really stand up to Converge - Jane Doe or Poison the Well - The Opposite of December, they are both up there with two of the best metalcore albums of all time.
You should be, killing with a smile, horizons, deep blue, atlas were all fire. Even ire had a few ok ones on it. They were one of the first bands I rly got into but the past few have sucked and it seems like they are gonna stay on that course. I wish we could get the old school parkway back🤦🤦
it’s hard for the brain to compute that a band this technical and talented has now resorted to mickey mouse ass rock. The most copy catted uninspired simpleton ass rock on the planet. Change the band name already.
Lmfao "uninspired" to who? THEY'RE the ones that've written the damn music and they've literally been inspired by certain artists to write these songs on the last 3 albums haha You think if they weren't inspired they'd release it anyway?...NO...stupid statement dude. And just because something is technical doesn't make it good or coherent. In any case, what they've done with the last 3 albums is they've used more melody and have taken elements of nu-metal, heavy metal, melodic metal, death/black metal and put their own spin on it. Now with that said, do I think that every song from the last 3 albums is great? No, it's hit and miss in parts but it still doesn't take away from the fact that there ARE good songs. You need to realise this opens up a whole realm of new ideas for them and it also allows them to headline big metal festivals like Wacken or Hellfest. You can't play metal festivals like that with nothing but a discography of metal core songs because you've got at least 40-50,000 listeners there that've been listening to some of the biggest metal bands of the last 30 years. You know what a family tree looks like don't you? Well, think about it in terms of bands. One band starts out in the 60's and inspires another band in the 70's. Then, that 70's band inspires another from the 80's and so on. It's literally like that and it's an ongoing cycle. Even some of the greatest Jazz guitarists of all time have been inspired by their predecessors.
The music is good but what parkways real edge against all the other bands of that time was their live shows, shit was absolutely fucking wild, Ive seen everything from dudes lighting themselves on fire to crowd surfing using the fucking barricades as a surfboard at parkway shows, UNMATCHED live energy especially back in the hardcore days
KWAS, Horizons, Deep Blue was just peak PWD. Glad I saw them back in the day. Last time was around Atlas lel not even Romance Is Dead was played live. I knew the band was over for me. They can make whatever they want. My opinion its just boring shit now. Not one single metalcore listening was hoping or needing IRE, Reverence and whatever is coming...
How could you not like the majority of their music??? Everything up to and including Deep Blue is incredible. Atlas was decent but the albums after that and their upcoming album are trash. There are a couple good songs on the newer albums but they are just not Parkway at their prime. I will say the songs I’ve heard from their upcoming album are dogsh!t. RIP PWD
@@derpderpin1568 You're lost. Unrest, Sleepwalker, Deadweight, Deliver Me, Karma, Home is for the Heartless, Hollow, Leviathan I, all bangers. It's not their best but it's still a great album. Definitely not awful.
Can’t believe you never listened to the full album
One of the best metalcore albums ever
Parkway at their peak
At their peak it was Atlas ❤
New shit is amazing too.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Leaned this song on bass back in the day when I was getting into this style of music and in my first band.
That 1-0 breakdown was the heaviest shit I ever heard at the time. Blew my mind
How can you not like this band. One of the bands in modern metal.
One of the bands of all time

This album, and Killing With a Smile are great staples in metalcore. I miss this sound.
Horizons will forever be my favorite PWD album.
Old parkway drive, killswitch engage, as I lay dying 🔥🔥🔥
Finally listening to the good Parkway stuff
Old school Parkway was untouchable
Horizons is one of my favorite metalcore records of all time. All killer, no filler!
By the way, did you react to the new song that dropped yesterday? It's the best of the three singles so far imo.
Yeah that new single is badass man!
A lot different than I’m used to hearing but it definitely growed on me
I still think this is the GOAT metalcore album, sad that i don't much like their newer music
The best thing about parkway was they were the only band in metalcore at the time that sounded EXACTLY the same live as on thier records
Fucking classic. One of the best songs from this era/style of metalcore and one of Parkway’s best tracks period
This album and Architects Daybreaker is what got me into the core scene. It will always have a special place in my heart. I don't go back listening to it all that often but I still love it for what it is.
Horizons, peak metalcore imo. Favorite album ever.
Why are you so patronising to them lmao. This album and deep blue are insanely well written albums.
This album is incredible
Back than heavy as hell, but listening to it now I can see people having a hard time between mix and style
But idk I still think its a heater
React to Parkway Drive - Swing
to the whole Atlas album: Dark days, wild eyer, river, swing, the blue and the grey... SO many great songs on that album. Might be my all time favorite album from any band!
Quite possibly my all time favorite PWD song
LOVE THIS ALBUM
Parkway is a band you gotta see live, man
my all time fav live act up to date. They are something else live
one of the best albums written
ever
Glad I got to see these guys when they were only touring on Horizons and Killing with a Smile
I remember this era of metalcore so well.. because it wasn't the metal I was listening too.. but I joined a few guys and created a metalcore band here in Australia/Victoria.. Deep Blue was my personal favorite from these guys.
its strange how we can all be into metalcore but have such a diff liking to bands. Parkway drive was one of my all time favourites

Killing with a smile
They were a different breed, those breakdown drops just makes you wanna slam stuff
Gotta listen to their album Killing With A Smile. Probably my all-time favorite metalcore record
Above Below have just released their new single !! another absolute banger i’m sure you’ll love it
Gotta check out the album Deep Blue
ah yes when parkway drive were actually good, thank god i got to see them in their peak in 2010 before the fucking IRE and what came next
Orbit Cultures new track Vulture of the north is out via a revolvermag article, hope to see your reaction!
Metalbirb I really recommend villain of the story they’re a underrated heavy metalcore band and btw this song was sick af
No one cares
Villain Of The Story is dope, but I only like Christians vocals not so much the other dude
I get bands change but this album and killing with a smile are just hard to beat.
While Horizons and Killing with a Smile can't really stand up to Converge - Jane Doe or Poison the Well - The Opposite of December, they are both up there with two of the best metalcore albums of all time.
I love Horizons but I think Parkway hit their peak with Deep Blue
Yeah man deep blue was there 2nd album I ever bought from them,
And I never regretted it….lol
Deep blue is probably my all time favorite from them
Horizons was way way way better than Deep Blue.
Parkway drive and I killed the prom queen started metalcore here in Australia they were a league above everyone back in the day
Old parkway hits heavy

These goddamn riffs are peak
I can’t shake the fact that Winston in this video looks like Cristiano Ronaldo.
I think you should check out the band impending doom
Theres blood in the waturrrr!!!
Should’ve always been a Parkway fan 🤦🏼♂️
Everyone's a parkway fan
The music is good but what parkways real edge against all the other bands of that time was their live shows, shit was absolutely fucking wild, Ive seen everything from dudes lighting themselves on fire to crowd surfing using the fucking barricades as a surfboard at parkway shows, UNMATCHED live energy especially back in the hardcore days
Still heavy af, horizons is pwds goat.
The title track Horizons is their best
Horizons is one of my very favorite metalcore albums! The heaviness, the melodies, it's just awesome start to finish.
Please react to their new single “Darker Still” it’s a masterpiece

They making real music now with a sense of melody
Bands change overtime. It happens. I don't think they'd want to re-create the same shit again for years. That would be exhausting.
They were amazing but now utter shite with hair metal riffs
How could you not like the majority of their music??? Everything up to and including Deep Blue is incredible. Atlas was decent but the albums after that and their upcoming album are trash. Nah Deep Blue is ass.
lol ok
Parkway up until Deep Blue were (chef’s kiss) amazing.
Deep Blue and Atlas were great albums. Even Reverence isn't terrible.
@@RthereNEusernames Deep Blue was awful.

Don't really care for newer parkway drive. Their old stuff is great
