Just a small piece of info , you can’t really play this game at < 60 fps atm because the game’s actually speed is tied at the FPS, this means the whole game runs at lower speed . Thank you for amazing content for us steam deck users .

Had this game on ps2 when I first joined the navy then up playing the Japanese version 2 installment after picking japan for my duty station

For steam deck there are two settings
1.45fps @ 90hz locked
Settings
All LOW apart from shadows MED
Reflections MED (CHOICE)
90%scale @ 720 resolution with filter ON
(IF YOU WANT REFLECTIONS,CHANHE SCALE FROM 90 TO 80)
Setting 2.60fps locked
All settings LOW
No filter TSR
SCALE NATIVE 100
1280X720
This game hammers the cpu and most video settings have little to no actual payback so leave them off
YOI WILL GET SOLID FRAMES AND SHARP SCREEN BUT THE CAN BE MUDDY DUE TO NIGHT RACING,INTERSECTIONS WILL DROP FRAMES FROM THE 60FPS OPTION DOWN TO 48-52 AND GO BACK UP TO 60
Settings thar kill the game are environment lighting,shadows and filter TSR,other settings have very minimal output apart from making the game look even more blurry
The two settongs that male ant difference are shadows MED,adds depth and stops the road being extremely BLAND looking and reflections are nice as you get reflections in tunnel walls and cars but isnt a must have setting like shadow MED
the game is a mess,not optimized at all,haven't got a clue why soo many youtube people go daft over this game,its lacking in many ways
I recommend people wait till its completed and instead play dreamcast or ps2 games via emudeck at 4x upscaling
hopefully they add cloud save support in future updates

If you struggle at medium, just play at lowest possible.. Don't even bother at that point
Thought the game would run better, too. Heard all about how well optimized it was. But it's 2025, so while it'll just looks like an upscaled PS2 game, it'll run just as well as your typical modern AAA. Obviously still better tho
I'll wait for it to leave early access anyways. I've never played or heard of an Early Access game that was well optimized
I play my steam deck almost exclusively docked at 1080p, would be great to have some performance metrics at 1080p in addition to 800p for those who dock their deck often. Can this game hit 60fps 1080p if everything is set to low? Thanks.
Interesting game, on my wishlist it goes. The developers are japanese so thankfully no AAA and woke DEI slop.

So you have to go find your next race and you can't pick from a list or a map you have to drive to your next opponent? I cannot stand modern racing games!!!
It was exactly like that on Dreamcast 🤡.
