    That`s awesome. Everytime I think about building a sailing ship and watch those videos about rigging , I dig the kit right back deep in my stash and promise myself: later, later...

    A really nice build John. I have enjoyed watching it. But i have a question. The sails in the back of the ship to me doesnt look right. To me the lines in the sail should be vertical as in all the other sails. But as always i might be an idiot. It wouldnt be the first time nor the last. And ones again thank you for letting us take part in the build.

      Thank you my friend! You are right, it should be with the lines vertical, but for some reason the one who made the sail made it to fit with the lines as you see in the video. If i turn it around it won't fit. Not a problem :)

    Muy buen trabajo, aunque la vela latina de popa creo que esta mal colocada ya que las lineas deben ser verticales como en todas las otras velas... de todas maneras aprendí mucho de tu excelente trabajo sigue así ...SUERTE

    Hi John. Your videos are VERY helpful! I am doing my first ship - OCCRE Corsair. What is the best order to rig the sails as the instructions don't explain that? Thank you for great videos and very clear explanations.

      Thank you very much! I find easier to begin with the bow sails and the front mast. Then i go to the main and then to the rear. After that i place the in between the masts sails.

    I like the look of it with the sails unfurled anyway. I don't know why anyone would want it folded up.

      I do not know either, i love the way she looks like that. All the beauty is in the sails why have them folded?

    Do the sails in these kits come already cut and sewed? Do you have any videos showing your process of making and sewing sails?

    • @JohnsWoodenShips
      @JohnsWoodenShips  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sails are ready, cut and sewed, you just have to place them in their position.

    Nice job :) looking forward to the finished model! I got one question, in the phase of planking some modellers use pins to hold the plank on the place until the glue dries, and after that, when I put the pin out of the plank, what should I do with the hole it leaves in the plank?

    • @JohnsWoodenShips
      @JohnsWoodenShips  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! I do too use pins with the planking. The hole can be closed with a small amount of wood putty. You have to use the wood putty for the specific type of wood so it will have the same color.

    • @xmangofenix7883
      @xmangofenix7883 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JohnsWoodenShips so I can do a little bit of sanding on the same type of plank and use it as a putty?

    • @JohnsWoodenShips
      @JohnsWoodenShips  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xmangofenix7883 No, if you use saw dust you have to use glue as well and you won't get a smooth surface result. You must use wood putty.

    • @xmangofenix7883
      @xmangofenix7883 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JohnsWoodenShips alright, thanks :) and one more question, why didn't you paint Santisima to it's red/dark/white color? Or do you like the wood colors with varnish more?

    • @JohnsWoodenShips
      @JohnsWoodenShips  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xmangofenix7883 It exactly what you said, i like very much the way the wood looks with the varnish.
