Sensational episode! You make such a wonderful point that there are several phases in the aesthetic process of knitting : choosing the yarn, finding a pattern, matching the knitted garment to something that looks good on. I have not linked these phases together, and it makes so much sense to do so! Especially love to see your styling of each item, and the cool Skirts and dresses you have!
Thank you - this is such a kind and thoughtful comment! Haha I often forget and make a beautiful object I never wear 😂 ahaa yes I am a skirt hoarder for sure!!
Loved everything about this. You're so honest and fun. I find this inspirational as an overthinking perfectionist. Your fits, your shoes, knitting your own designer dupes - just wonderful!
I think you are so fun to watch. I get a lot of insight and inspiration from your knits. I love that your so honest about the fails and not just the successes.
I very rarely write comments, but I couldn’t resist here! This is probably the video that resonates with me the most from the “What I Knit in 2024” series. We have similar styles and body types, so I found a LOT of inspiration, thank you!
Love the way you style your knits! It feels very organic, and you manage to make them look good in both casual and more dressed up settings. Maybe the cloud sweater could look good with gray bottoms, if that's something you have.
Omg thank you so much! This has been the most nervous I’ve been to post a video because of the styling aha. That’s a great idea, I will try gray bottoms out!
Wow your clothes are so fun! It was so nice to see the knits styled with your wardrobe. You have an amazing collection of interesting skirts and dresses, and I love the way you balance them with edgier pieces. I always get excited when I see a new video from you, and this was such a delight to watch!
First time viewer and I immediately adore you! Your styling is soooo good and I love your vibe and courage and knitting and creativity! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you very much for adding colour to these ever lasting beige and earth and grey vidéos where everything looks as if filmed in black and white ! Wow I love your short tweedy grey wrap skirt ! Want the same definitely.
Thanks for showing your knitting projects! You did a really good job! My favourite one is the argyle vest. And I love, love, love the dress with the caros!
You are far too hard on yourself! All your knits are beautiful and I love how you styled them all💖! You have some really awesome pieces in your wardrobe that go so nicely with all your sweaters. Thank you for the inspiration🥰
The Marni aura and the Ganni vest have my heart, I am in awe!! Been dreaming of Argyle sweaters since basically I learned to knit but I just never had the courage to self draft something. You did such a magnificent work!!!
oh you sweetheart, thank you!! they're the ones I'm the most proud of 🧡 I definitely encourage trying out self-drafting, if you've knit like two sweaters before (which I know you have), you've got the skills for sure!
@ please update if you find something :D i was so sceptic about lavender or purple in general a few years ago and now my whole wardrobe is full of it lol. It tends to go with waaay more colours than you might think
ooo i loved watching this, i’ve also fallen in love with a few of the non-knit items in your wardrobe! Is the check/tartan dress with the side tie handmade or store bought? i love it!! and the blue and black floral plisse dress, and your shoe collection! your style is *chefs kiss* I’m a knitter/sewer/crocheter so would love a video of any other things you made in 2024! 😊❤
you are so super kind!! both dresses were thrifted fast fashion, I think the first is asos and the second Zara from a few years ago, you might have some luck on Depop/vinted? But let’s be honest if you’re a sewist you could probably make something much better quality! I’ll be honest I’ve been very slow with my sewing practice this year so don’t have much to show, but I’m excited to ramp it up a lot more in 2025 🥰 thanks so much for your comment - I really appreciate it!!
This is your first video I've seen and you have a new fan :) I loved the styling portions and seeing the fun array of projects you worked on. i am feeling inspired by your second sweater to make a plum or darker purple project!
I really like the bottom of the purple one! Definitely adding it to my list! The size looked great too! Nice and cozy 🥰 I crocheted like a machine when I had covid... and messed up my shoulder 😅 I couldn't even watch TV but I could still crochet! 🙌 Well... just added the honey purse to the collection that I'm making for my sister 😅 thanks/dang you! 😂 Thanks for the video!
I like the fitted navy marine sweater on you. It looks posh, and the color is beautiful. You didn't include the red sailor sweater, I thought you made that a few months ago. I love the combination of different color of red that you used. Wish I could see how you style it with different outfits. You inspired me to knit one in red. I'm knitting it in a sport weight gauge with only 1 red yarn. It took me 3 days to knit the sailor collar! Looking forward to your next video 😊
I made the red sailor jumper in 2023!! I would love to make a video like this for my first few years of knitting - but to be honest I can’t face all the editing again! 😂😅😂 Thank you so much, I would love to see the jumper you’re making if you feel like sharing!
@@nadia_makes I will share pics but it'll be awhile though. Argh, I'm knitting on 3.25 mm for the body, and 2.5 mm for the 8 inch collar!! I just love the combination reds that you put together, and you looked great in the sailor jumper in the previous video. On my screen, that color red is stunning! It's hard to get a good color red that goes well with each person's skin tone. I'll try to see if that combination reds will work on me. I would love to knit on a bigger size needle..maybe something simple like the ranunculus or a simple v neck like the cumulus tee, and have the color as the main focus
no pressure, whenever you're finished! ahah I do not envy you the small needles, you know me and small gauges don't get along!! 😂 oof yeah it's so hard to get a good red, I feel like the availability in yarns is actually pretty bare when it comes to a really good red shade - especially mohair! and they always blow out on camera!! I'd love to knit something else red this year, but have been holding out for the perfect yarn!
Damn your wardrobe slaps! Please tell me where this black skirt you paired your clematis sweater is from, I'd looove to know! It's sublime ✨ I've binged all of your vlogs in the past few days (thanks to knotenkopp). You have such a great sense of style and (apart from the skirt) I think your shoe collection is lovely as well. They make your knits shine! ❤
Oh wow thank you, that’s very high praise! And I have knotenkopp to thank for a lot!! The skirt was a very cheeky gift to myself in the cecilia bahnsen archive sale 🙈
ooh love this take, thank you!! I really don't reach for it, but it sounds like I should! aha yes and the body is literally a rectangle it's a little ott
Hi Nadia, love all of your makes!! The marni dupe is probably my favorite ♥ I know you mentioned you hate seamed garment designs, but the fit is so much better with those, especially around the neckline and shoulder area. The additional seams provide more stability and the way seamed garments are shaped is basically what you'd expect from any ready-to-wear item. In-the-round or top-down designs have short rows to add shaping but most of the time the shape created is very cone-like which results in an odd fit. There's an interesting article on the interwebs about how in-the-round knitting can never mimic the fit of a seamed sweater but I'm sorry I can't find that at the moment 😅(it came up when I did a deep dive a while ago on why that type of sweater fits oddly). Try a super simple seamed stockinette design and you'll notice the difference right away! Rowan has lots of great options (don't let the outdated styling fool you), and brooklyn tweed has some great cabled designs! Looking forward to seeing more of your makes!
Thank you so much for this advice!! I actually don't hate seamed garments - I've made quite a few this year and have found myself really enjoying it! I do have the issue of rowing out, which I can't avoid knitting flat, but other than that I've liked everything I made that I've seamed and very open to doing this in future! I think my point with the korshavn is that there's no neck shaping on top of being seamed flat at the shoulders, which gives it a very awkward fit, and looking back I would have it done it differently. if you do find that article though, would be so interested to read it!!
@@nadia_makes ah sorry, I must've misheard! I usually watch long videos in multiple smaller sessions. Yes I remember you mentioned you don't like your rowing out! I think I posted my comment when you were talking about the cloud sweater and how the neckline is odd (if I remember correctly??! 😅). I have too many thoughts about the korshavn (as a design itself, not the version you made specifically) and don't want to upset anyone so that's all I have to say 😅 I do recommend men's knitwear designs though since they usually have a silhouette that works better for that shape (broader shoulders, tapered body)
no jeez don't worry! ahah I forget what I say in these videos half the time! your comment has lived rent free in my mind for the past few days (in a good way), I really want to make more seamed things this year to improve the fit! I'll just have to suck it up and solve my rowing out for good lol aha, I think I already agree with you on your korshavn thoughts. definitely think I was being lazy and didn't research enough!!
Was so sick of everything I knit videos and hadn’t seen you before but yours came on while I was casting on 276 stitches on a linen top in 3mm needles and you just won me over. Loved the styling, subscriberd and will go back and watch your other videos now, esp the argyle knits which are your forte. With your necklines, do you go down a couple of needles sizes? Cos that will help. I’m a loose knitter like you and have to often use smaller needles and I always try things on multiple times to get a good fit. Keep doing your thing though ❤
ahhh thank you, such high praise!! I totally feel the 2024 roundup fatigue ahaha, so I appreciate that you took the time to watch! and yess I always go down at least 2 needle sizes, but you're right, I could probably stand to go down at least another 2 being such a loose knitter! I'm so jealous of commercial knits with their tiiiiiiny little ribbing aha
Ohh thank you so much, I almost cut out those parts so many times! If it’s the same one I’m thinking of, I got it vintage in Copenhagen sadly! So swishy 🥲
Thank you!! I think you might right and I will try for sure, although let’s be honest the clothes are not all back in the wardrobe since I filmed this almost two weeks ago 😂😅😂 these videos are messy it turn out!
ahh, thanks so much! I'm pretty basic when it comes to podcasters, I primarily watch creabea, future fiber, well loved knits, handmadebyflorence, knittingtraditions, apt atelier, laura penrose, breathing yarn! and more recently whatmarielmade, knotenkopp, hanaanbonnet, what's mili making 😊
Loveee all of your knits and especially your styling!! Where is the dress from 09:15 from? It‘s really beautiful :) Excited for a new year of knitting!
Eek thank you so much!! The dress is from asos a few years ago, it was called mixed check asymmetric midi dress if you want to have a go looking secondhand!
Not really related to the knits, but that asymmetrical plaid dress is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Is it vintage? You have inspired me to start duping knits haha
aha sorry I should have tagged the clothes in the outfits! the dress is asos from a few years ago, it was called mixed check asymmetric midi dress if you want to have a go looking secondhand! but to be honest it's pretty bad quality, if you sew it 's something you could make pretty easily with mismatched fabrics! oh, and thank you!!!
Love your projects!! And a good reminder I don’t have to style every single sweater with black jeans hahaha. Love the skirt at 31:08!! Where is she from (so I can scour Vinted 😏)
Ahaha yes - I needed that reminder myself!! The skirt is from COS, I got it in the sale in Jan so you might have some luck still! Thank you so much for your comment 🙏🥰
listen, your sweater, your life... but I also love the color of the jenny sweater on you and how you styled it! it seems like a great, elevated basic because of the color, and I think the color also shows off the pattern! yoh can always cast on a navy sweater, no? :)
hahaa, I appreciate that - I do like it more since I tried it on with a bunch of things, and remembered how much I enjoyed the fit. I still struggle with the undertone though - but let's see how I feel in a while!!
@nadia_makes oh hello! I'm actively still watching this video while I finish a crochet project, haha, 17 minutes left. will definitely subscribe after this! had no idea how long I would tune in, but I've been here for the whole hour and loved the styling portion of this video!
Oof this dress has been popular, I should wear it more! It was from asos a while back, it was called mixed check asymmetric midi dress if you want to have a go looking secondhand! Though to be honest the quality isn’t great, if you sew I’m sure you could make something much better!!
I love these knits! Also if you want to do me the favor of a lifetime and let me know where you got those satin ballet flats from the second look of this video? Would be grand xx
I had to stop knitting to watch you …. That’s a first ❤ One polite suggestion on the maja cardi , you need a button at the busts widest part or say the modest placement , do I make sense . You’re very stylish ❤ funny , I like you . Ps tip frog with a mate the flamingo , cos mohair frogging you need patience and alcohol 🍷. Alpaca is very very drapery .
That’s high praise indeed!! Thanks so much for your comment, I think you might be right on that button placement!! Ahaha yes I’m not looking forward to the frogging, but we’ll make it through 🤪 I’ve heard freezing the yarn before makes it frog easier when there’s mohair!
Hands down the best „What I knit in …“ I have ever seen. Thank you so much for all the B roll, that was sooo inspiring!

I haven't even finished this video but I love that you showed how you style your sweaters. Hands down my favorite part!

Thank youuu!! Ahah yes I felt very silly 🤪😂
Your styling is fantastic!! Where did you get the black ballerina length skirt? It’s fabulous! Excited to see what you get up to in 2025.
Ohh thank you so much, I almost cut out those parts so many times! If it’s the same one I’m thinking of, I got it vintage in Copenhagen sadly! So swishy 🥲
@@nadia_makes Just my opinion but your knits styling is very unique and I think you should keep doing it. It sets you apart from other makers! ❤️
Thank you!! I think you might right and I will try for sure, although let’s be honest the clothes are not all back in the wardrobe since I filmed this almost two weeks ago 😂😅😂 these videos are messy it turn out!
Love your videos, so thank you! Got some new podcasts from this one to try too. Interested in what others you watch 😊xx
ahh, thanks so much!
@ a few more there for me, thanks ☺️
Loveee all of your knits and especially your styling!! Where is the dress from 09:15 from? It‘s really beautiful :)
Excited for a new year of knitting!
Eek thank you so much!! The dress is from asos a few years ago, it was called mixed check asymmetric midi dress if you want to have a go looking secondhand!
@@nadia_makesthank youu, I‘ll do that :)
Not really related to the knits, but that asymmetrical plaid dress is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Is it vintage? You have inspired me to start duping knits haha
aha sorry I should have tagged the clothes in the outfits! the dress is asos from a few years ago, it was called mixed check asymmetric midi dress if you want to have a go looking secondhand! but to be honest it's pretty bad quality, if you sew it 's something you could make pretty easily with mismatched fabrics!
oh, and thank you!!!
loved this! thanks for sharing
yay!! thanks for your comment
Привет!!!! Очень понравились твои вязаные вещи,особенно как сочетаешь их в целом образе!!!!! спасибо за обзор И какие классные собачки)))
eeh thank you so much!! my dogs say hi 🧡
I'm actively still watching this video while I finish a crochet project, haha, 17 minutes left. will definitely subscribe after this! had no idea how long I would tune in, but I've been here for the whole hour and loved the styling portion of this video!
ahaha I was too speedy with that response 😅 that's very kind, thank you - it was a long ass video!!
Is this the best “what I knit in 2024” video? Adding the styling part was a great idea 😼
Ahaha, I don’t know how to answer that 🥴😂 thank you so much!!
Loved this! Please please please let me know where that beautiful dress at 9:13 is from! Did you make it yourself?
Oof this dress has been popular, I should wear it more! It was from asos a while back, it was called mixed check asymmetric midi dress if you want to have a go looking secondhand! Though to be honest the quality isn’t great, if you sew I’m sure you could make something much better!!
Love how you style everything but I especially love the skirt at 36:23! Where is it from?
Thank you so much! that's a COS skirt, I got it pretty recently so you might still be able to find it!
I love these knits! Also if you want to do me the favor of a lifetime and let me know where you got those satin ballet flats from the second look of this video? Would be grand xx
Of a lifetime, such high stakes! Aha they’re Zara from a year or two ago 🥰 thanks for your comment! 🧡
Oh i need that mug! Where is it from?
@@VilyaLsCpt tk maxx!! I couldn’t resist the cute dog 🥰
I had to stop knitting to watch you …. That’s a first ❤
One polite suggestion on the maja cardi , you need a button at the busts widest part or say the modest placement , do I make sense .
Loved your video! I am wondering where you sourced your Kampes?
I bought the grey lot in litet nystan in Stockholm! And then bought three sweaters quantities from ullboden.se, they were very kind to ship to EU
@@nadia_makes thank you!
