  • 'Unlocked' is the opening track on the Unsound 'Intermission' album, created by sound recordist Chris Watson:
    unsoundfestival.bandcamp.com/
In this video, Chris takes the audience on a guided walk through the places and techniques used to create the piece.
The ‘Unlocked’ track is composed from field recordings made by Chris during lockdown in May 2020. Beginning with the rediscovery of the sunrise soundtrack over his suburban garden in North-East England, the piece concludes on the basalt sea cliffs which form the natural defences of the 14th century Dunstanburgh Castle on the Northumberland coast.

This is such a beautiful thing to capture. Where I live next to the A10. One day (mid April 2020 ) I stopped what I was doing and heard birds the very first time ever in big busy city London. My GP sent me these links of You Chris Watson. Love it. This reminds me of Binaural recordings I heard about 20 years ago. I don’t see or hear much of this anymore. Pity because it’s just sound and sound is beautiful . My dear friend who’s blind shares his stuff he likes with me. He doesn’t need to close his eyes like me. Thanks Chis Watson for your incredible recordings…Ps what do you think of the DAT Machine . I still have the TCD-D7?

Great experience, thanks a lot! Pure nature! Sorry to ask but could we use the audio from this video or there are some rights reserved? I would love to make it the part of our RPG's forest soundscape!)
