YG said it a long time ago they want to make blackpink the ultimate kpop group by letting all the artist have more of a artistic freedom like lyrics flow etc etc (They still try to change few things if they think the artist will like It) You can notice the change from their first few songs and what they do now lyrics seem less calculated

She's an artist, she said that playing and creating music is the only time when things "make sense" to her, and when BLACKPINK took off it became something different, she longed for the days when she was a trainee because she was surrounded by music.
Sometimes it's not until you have grown and matured that you realise just how much you sacrifice and for what? I blubbered for her in that documentary and after she recently confessed she stopped enjoying music for a while I realise she was very very broken when they filmed that. So I am glad she has bounced back and found enjoyment in her craft again, she was never meant to be just an Idol, she lives and breathes music.

It is about Rose' working hard to achieve success but remembering the important things in life...family, where you came from and staying humble & grounded. The beat switches are really different to modern pop and reminds me of something like Bohemian Rhapsody or smthng. I feel like it is a good song to break down to :) Oh and i also wanna note that they are a nominee of BBMAs Top Social Award in competition with these big groups like Blackpink, BTS, Seventeen and the female artist Ariana Grande. This group is fairly new too. And i tell you that What? is a really new concept for most of us at least. Something that you dont really hear nowadays.
