I agree with the gentleman at the end. As a Texan, we have also seen so many fine marques die. Here in the US it was in the 10 years of economic boom after World War II. I always wonder is a guy who has always loved British cars, how it might have been without BMC and BL and some of the other disasters. I remain delighted that so many fine Brits, keep their native cars up for future generations to see what has been lost.
The "historian" claims they introduced the Tiger with "the 427 cubic inch Ford V8 engine." Ha! Yeah, right! But no, sadly, it was the rather anemic 260 that started the Tiger line. It finished strong with the 289. Someone actually has placed a Ford big block in a Tiger, and it looks absolutely insane.
The only British car to have the 427 big block was the AC Ace, which Carroll Shelby turned into the Cobra . The Cobra started out with a 260 c.i. and progressed to the 289, just like the Tiger. Then Shelby added the 427 big block version.
I'm glad two other guys said it, I laughed when he said 427, right. The FE monster, not a chance, he might have meant to say 4.7 to refer to the liter displacement of the 289 engine. But its still wrong because as someone here also said the tiger started life with a 260. But overall, still a good watch.
My Great-great-Grandfather founded Sunbeam, love to see these videos thank you!
