I bought one on Prime day. Used it once and it wouldn’t re-dock. It had gone under the bed and a stray dryer sheet got stuck in the wheel housing. Your video saved me! Thanks so much!
I can’t get the stupid pin out, any pro tips?
I had to keep slamming on it from both ends and eventually knocked it out
Great video! One thing to add. Instead of pulling the pin out with pliers, I was able to push the pin out from the other side using my T15 torx.
Great detailed video, thanks. I used a small vise grip to remove the pin effortlessly.
Is there anywhere I can purchase specific plastic gears or should I never buy a shark product again.
Picked a refurbished one of these. Had T9 screws past the pin. Thanks for run-through
Mine had T9 too
Thank you sosososososo much. I just got off the phone with the shark helpdesk and the guy told me my problem was "eletric" but that also that "there's debris in the model." asked him to clarify because eletric and debris isn't really the same thing and what did he mean by "model". He said I would either have to shell out a lot of money for a repair or just replace it. This video just saved me so much money and my favorite appliance! (I'm very attached to this vaccum! Its the only thing I wanted for Christmas years ago)
Great video! Everywhere I looked it talked about replacing the entire wheel unit. Smitty's World took the time to dis-assemble the wheel unit. Mine was clogged just like this example.
So glad I was able to help you fix the robot and save some money in the process
Thanks, mine had a Rolo just stuck right in there. Soaked all the plastics I could separate, hit everything else with isopropyl, then greased it back up. Works like new.
I have a RV765 that when it start to go forward will turn left sharply and errors with
clean (red) + dock + max + !(red) (flashing). I have taken the wheels apart to check for hair, etc and they were clean with no debris.
Could the wire harnesses be bad or could it be something more serious?
I"d appreciate any help you could give.
I love your videos!
Thanks much
Thank You so much! This was our problem and it was a lsuper easy fix! Our shark has been "broke" for 9 months. 3 weeks ago I broke my hand and the sweeping by my 9year old or only once a week by my husband was driving me bonkers!
So many videos of people just replacing the entire wheel.
I will try this later today, thank for the information!
I took apart my Shark robot vac Mod # UR1105ARUS as it was faulting for an obstruction. It seems that the right wheel is stiffer than the left. I took it apart, as per your excellent video but there wasn’t any debris(we do have 2 very hairy cats). Cleaned everything but it still shows the fault immediately. What is the cost of a (refurbished) wheel unit?
Outstanding. Thank you. After seeing how much hair and crud was on the offending wheel I took the other one apart to clean it. Additional tools I recommend are a dental pick or paper clip and a toothbrush. I also found a lot of dog hair inside the wheel gear teeth which I removed with my dental lick and shop vac. Thanks so much. Seeing how this is built has made me happy. It’s a tank.
Thanks for the info! You’d think they’d seal these better since they’re advertising them as being great for pet hair.
When I pulled the wheel assembly out it had over a handful of hair packed in there. The gearbox wasn’t that bad.
I reassembled using a little rtv to seal the gear assembly
Do you have any of the worm gears for a shark rv1001ae? So far best and like only video I could find on these wheel assemblies on these sharks
Message me on eBay and send me some pictures I probably dp
How do you remove the pin when it's flush with the housing it's in ?
@smittysworld Thank you for the video. I did everything you said but found no hair so I assume my motor is done for. Any tips on how to find the correct motor?
just got off the same model number and gear ratio the numbers on the motor itself doesn't have to do with anything
So cleaned out my whole unit but there was no hair. Took out all the gears and greased them and the motor one, but when I assemble them they are tight and do not spin properly. The wheel spins easily without the gears and the motor spins easily without the gears too. Any recommendations?
remove the motor and spin it over see if there is some reistance.

Where can I get the replacement motor I can't find it anywhere my motor has PRI-3655V-14175
Thanks for the video! I was ready to throw away our vacuum, but after watching this video I have our vacuum running like new again.
I used this video to repair mine successfully. Very appreciated sir.
Is there any way to replace nylon gear A2 on Shark model 750?
So I have the a similar one, but inside that sprocket housing it was clean, but the wheel feels like it is binding alot. Is there a way to get the wheel off?
Thank you so much, I wish I would of seen your video before I bought a new one. I did take out the wheels and there was a lot of hair. I'll be using the old vacuum upstairs. I definitely recommend the shark over the more expensive brands.
I appreciate your video. I have a Shark AI robot model RV2520A0CA, S/N S31Q3081Z8H8. Following what you showed in your video, I took the left drive wheel assembly apart (left with the robot on the floor like it was going to clean with the front pointed away from me) and inspected it. The gears all look great. There were no chips or cracks and there was no hair inside at all. The motor spun freely when I spun it by hand. Even with all the gears removed, when I manually turn the wheel, it turns almost a full revolution and then seizes up. I can force it past that point but it seizes up again in the same spot on the next revolution. This causes the robot to throw a drive wheel error when you power it on to clean. Do you still repair these and/or do you still sell replacement parts? If I could ship you the drive wheel and you could fix it or if you could send me a replacement drive wheel, that would be excellent. Please let me know.
Great video! I was able to get the wheel out but the pin is flush with the casing so I can't grab it. Is there another way to get it out?
Opposite side of case you have to punch it out with a punch or screw driver and a hammer
@@SmittysWorld It worked! Thank you!!!
After all that, I was there was no hair in the inner case. However, the outer case was loaded with dog hair and some dryer sheet. Goblin is gobbling up the dirt once again. Thank you!
I need a right side drive wheel assembly for a RV1100VRUS. The electrical connector has a short in it.
CANNOT FIND A PART NUMBER.
Hi Smitty, Great job on your TH-cam about Shark Robot Wheel Repair! Do you have parts for sale? My left wheel gears are stripped. Please let me know.
No I stopped selling parts to many people scammed me out of money with ebay
Do you sell replacement parts for Shark QRobot?
I have a Shark RV763 and cannot find a plastic gear in the wheel assembly that is damaged.
Could be a bad motor then.
i have rv750, but there's not 5 screws to remove the wheel unit. the entire bottom plastic is one complete piece. tried to take all screws off but, can't get the bottom off to access the wheel.
Thank you for this video! It helped me greatly! Quick question… ever encounter a wheel where you can hear the gears?
Is it possible to remove the treads from the wheel? My wheel won’t spin very well even without the gears, so I’m thinking it’s an issue inside and I need to take the treads off.
I know this is late but I had to same problem and it was a snap ring you had to take off and clean the rod the wheel spins on and i got mine to spin well with out the gears
T15 and T10 screws? What screw gun you use, link to HF cheap torx drivers.
Hi which video Of yours has helped people catch the problem with the wheel so they do not need to buy a new one and instead can just repair it?
Nice video... Mine robot would not drive straight. I took my right wheel apart and found the last gear that meshes with the wheel gear is stripped. Can I just buy the gear? Thanks in advance?
Message me on my ebay store
I've got a 750 and 1 tires worn slick. I can't find the tire/wheel anywhere I also can't find the link to your store.
how do I locate the plastic gears in my UR1100 wheel drive gear?
Take the wheel apart like this it's a little different but very similar.
Hello! How to remove last gearwheel and do full disassemble? Roborock S5 VMax.
Not sure I don't have one to take apart.
Do you have any wheels for a rv100ae? My right wheel was broken when I bought it and now the vacuum won’t work.
Take pictures as you go. Take dozens of photos from different angles. Even if "its just a quick little thing" or "something I can't possibly forget". Photos of every wire, lead and connection. Taking photos is easier and takes less time than learning how to read diagrams, schematics and blueprints.
My robot has the clean dock max and exclamation point blinking. It says it’s a drive wheel error. When it start it. It immediately turns right and then gets the error so I assumed the right wheel motor isn’t turning. Replaced the assembly and it is still doing the same thing. What could the problem be? Any help is appreciated
Maybe a wire broke or pulled loose. Maybe it's the other wheel? Maybe it's the drive circuitry on the main board.
@@scottwillis5434 never figured it out. Replaced the drive wheel. Inspected. No wires loose. No issues found. Threw it in the garbage and bought a roomba. Problem solved
Question. I have a wheel that the spring mount broke off. Unfortunately all the screws to remove the wheel are stripped as I purchased a used unit. I was able to remove the spring without removing the wheel, so it is not an obstruction to the wheel. My question is; is the spring necessary? It seems to run fine without it.
It all depends on the model some will work just fine and some will throw a error code .If its working let it clean
Smitty, Do you know what the cable connecting the wheel motor to the main board is? It's a 6 pin connect but I don't recognize it as JST or SM
Sadly it’s custom to shark from what I can tell but I do sell them
I'M LOOKING FOR A RIGHT WHEEL HOUSING FOR SHARK UR1000SR VACUUM. THE PLASTIC BROKE WHERE THE SPRING HOOKS TO THE HOUSING. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE, MAYBE YOU MIGHT HAVE AN IDEA WHERE I COULD GET ONE. IF YOU HAVE ONEPLEASE LET ME KNOW THE PRICE. THANK YOU, TOM
My three year old daughter fell on the robot and one of the wheels collapsed and no longer has that shock tension. Will replacing the wheel fix the problem or is there something additional to re-attach?
Replace wheel or fix the spring that broke off
Did all this and everything was pretty clean. I took a 9v battery and jumped it to the motor terminals and it ran fine. Plugged it all back in and it still doesn't work. Wires look fine. How do I test the main board?
I am trying to takeoff the wheel on my shark using your tutorial. It seems that two of the T5 screw wells are deeper than the other ones and I can’t get them to pull out. Is there a secret?
Does anyone know if the pin on the 900 series wheel is removable? I've been trying to get mine out but I can't get it to budge.
Should be but pain to remove
Hm yeah I feel like I'm gonna break this thing before I get the pin out. Before I break it, do you know where I might be able to buy a new wheel + housing for the 900 series?
@@jacobharvey6809 send me a email at smittysworld2015@gmail.com with some pictures of the wheel and robot I’ll see what I can find maybe give you some help
So I took the wheel apart cause it sounded like it had a bunch of junk in it. Well while I was taking it apart I unplugged the 5 wire connector an I pulled them all out of the plug. Now I wired it back to the way the other side was wired and all it did was spin in circles. So I reversed the wires and when i press power it turns right off and blinks red. I can't find a wiring diagram. I need the order of colors with the clip side up. Is there any way you could help me or is there a way to replace the connector?
I sell the connectors for the wheels on my eBay store. What model do you have?
The shark 852 I believe, it's the pig tail coming from the vaccum an not the wheel assembly

My ion robot shark RV750 is spinning in circles . Is there any reason why it’s happening ? Does it mean the wheels are damaged or do I need to replace it ?
I took my wheel housing apart. Gears looked great. There was something in between the wheel and the housing. Took it out. Motor, wheel gears move. Turn it on drive error still pops up. Any ideas?
Keep breaking it down until you find out which part has the excessive drag in it, or spot the junk causing the drag.
I bought t-10 and t-15 from harbor freight. Well got wheel out as you shown with t-15. Then tried to get the wheel cover off with t-10 and was to big. Any suggestions?
Different models require t-8 t-9
Hey Smitty! Any chance you're still selling parts? Had to completely disassemble my AV2501S to fix the front wheel and somehow when putting it back together the wire harness broke off the right wheel motor. I think fixing it is beyond my capabilities. I'm having trouble finding a replacement wheel. You got one I could buy from you?
Sorry I don’t sell parts anymore. eBay is your best chance
There is a small cap on the end of the motor away from the gearbox. It covers an optical encoder (toothed cap + optical sensors) which tells the Shark's computer whether and how the wheel is moving. Very gently spread the clips, one side at a time, and pull the cover off. Ours had some hairs in it, which confused the sensor, so the Shark didn't think the wheels were moving. I blew the hairs out. If it happens again I'll use a tiny amount of RTV to seal the end cap.
That does happen I learned that after making this video it's pretty rare that happens but it does happen from time to time. I have also seen the end cap missing causing a bad wheel issue.
@@SmittysWorld hi do you sell right wheel unit for a MODELE: UR1105ARUS T3 14.4V --- 3.57A

Do you know where I can get replacement gears? I didn't see any on your eBay store. My gearboxes were full of dust, hair, etc and the teeth on the smallest drive gear are sheared off. It would be nice to buy a full set of replacement plastic gears.
Thanks for the video, by any chance do you have the wheels of the Shark RV750?, those are a little bit than the ones on this video.
No longer sell parts
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have a shark IQ smart self-emptying machine that had a wheel that started binding up and this helped me solve problem.
Some of the screws to remove the wheel seem to be stripped and cant get them out, any other solution?
you can drill them out then remove them with pliers after wheel comes out but have to be carful
Where I can buy on set for 1 wheel? Mine has a broken one, the left one? Thanks for your help
I have a rv720 vacuum and one of the wheel assemblies quit working so I tore the whole vacuum apart and to get the wheel out on this model is nothing like any of the other you tube videos demonstrating how to remove it. I took the wheel assembly apart as well and noticed that the main gear on the wheel assembly was striped on the shaft. Not sure if there is a way to rig it to work or buy just the plastic gear. I'd think the easiest is to find a cheap vacuum being sold for parts but not sure if it is a common size gear through out all the models or specific to the 720. Any thoughts?
That’s gonna have same parts as a 700 robot 725 750 and 850 are different wheels come out from bottom.
I have an RV1001AE are the wheels the same as the other models? Having trouble finding for that specific unit
They are only the same for 1001 series . I have some listed on my eBay store
I can't find your store on ebay and I don't know how to find your link. I need a replacement for a shark robot vacuum 5 wire set.
I took my wheel assembly apart cleaned all the fur and hair out used some degreaser on all the gears reassembled with dielectric grease the gears spin very freely but when I put the motor in and the gears don’t spin. I am thinking the motor is bad. How can I get a motor without all the gears?
This video was great and just what I needed. Cleaned out it all out and the wheels spun great. Unfortunately, I severed a wire when I put one back in. Do you have a video on how to replace that? :)
sorry I meant how do I purchase these plastic gears
Hi! Can you please tell me if I can take the wheel a part to clean it for the RV1001AE. I open it but still fill kind of hard. I am not able to take the wheel out.I am bot sure if that is possible
Have the rv 1001ae. Got the wheel off. The inside screws are not T10. The pin is different. Did you figure it out?
Thanks so much! Great easy to follow tutorial.
I’ve done all of these steps. And my right wheel is still not spinning freely. It feels way more resistance than the left wheel. I’ve drowned it in quick dry cleaner, air compressor, lube, quick dry and it still feels like it’s too resistant. I think mine is tripping the error #2 because of the left wheel. It is still hard to turn. I added more lube.
Where do i buy replacement wheels for the 750? The gears are so damaged in my one wheel from my baby riding it the vacuum just goes in a circle.

Do you off the motors for RV1001AE model or would you now where I might be able to acquire them? Thank you.
Hi, my Shark ran over a little bit of dog poo. I followed a video to take the wheels out, and I cleaned the Shark perfectly. I now get an error message every time I start it up saying there’s an obstruction. Sharks “customer service“ told me I need a new machine. They told me they would give me a discounted price on a new one for $100 more ($470, including shipping) than I bought this one for. Is there any other fix that you can think of? The vacuum is only a year and a half old. I really don’t want to buy another one after spending almost $400 on this one in such a short amount of time. Thanks!
Same thing happened to mine

what gear
First off great video! I was able to declog both my side wheels in my RV850. Issue is now I can barely do a full run until they get clogged with hair again (I have 2 dogs)
Do you have any tips on keeping hair out of the wheel gear unit? Having to open up the wheel housing every run is more hassle than it’s worth.
Putting some thick grease in the wheel will help keep it out and sealing up the two half’s with a little rtv silcone
