  • This tutorial shows a high-temperature fluid flow in a pipe through a T-Section and the effect of temperature on the Pipe Material. The deformation of the pipe caused due to the fluid temperature has been analyzed. The temperature distribution effect from the ANSYS Fluent has been used as a thermal load in the pipe body Structural analysis. The pipe deflection and equivalent stress and thermal strain have been found.
    What will you learn from this Tutorial?
    - Creating a T-Section in ANSYS Design Modeller
    - Use of shell/Thicken Option.
    - Use of fill option to fill the pipe with another domain.
    - Global and Local Meshing
    - Creating a link between fluent and static structural
    - Solver set up in Fluent
    - Solver setup in static structural.
    - CFD post-processing
    - Static Structural Post-processing

    Sir, I have a question. I'm doing my project on magnetorheological shear thickening polishing for brittle materials. However, I'm doing simulations with ANSYS software for CFD, and I have obtained satisfactory results. But for solid mechanics, I want to check when cracks and fractures will occur and how the penetration of grits or abrasive particles could impact this. Could you please help me with this?

    Thank you for sharing good information. It is a very helpful media. May I ask you something? I just want to know the meaning of "Imported Body Temperature". Why do we need to put "Imported Body Temp" variable. Thank you again.

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The " temperature" is imported from the ANSYS Fluent Results, the temperature distribution inside the pipe might not be uniform due to fluid flow & convection , so the temperature distribution has been analysed in ANSYS Fluent CFD solver , and that temperature data has been imported to Structural analysis , to find out the deformation.

    hello uploader, i have a quesn i was performing fsi on pipeflow(bifurcated) and during the static structural i imported pressure from my cfd model ,now while selecting for the CFD DOMAIN should i use the pipeinner wall or pipeouter wall or the wall as a whole? (p.s i am checking how much stress is generated in the inside portion of the pipe on whether it can withstand or not)

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should check on the inner wall

      sometimes such type of error occurs due to software lag, i would recommend you to model it once again , and save it in a new folder.

    I did the process of making all named selection as same as you, so went a run Fluent on boundary condition appear more zones and went i run the iniziation process a window says me that “Flow boundary zone found adjacent to Solid zone. This problem must be fixed before solution proceed” im using student versión ANSYS R1, thnks

    Geometry and solution is not linking when i drag the static structural into the project schematic window...because of this imported load(A5) in static structural(B5) is not coming...plz help me

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geometry of A5 will be linked with B5 and simlilarly meshing, only the Setup of A5 will be linked with model of B5 for "import load" . watch the tutorial carefully.

    How about the effect of the thermal deformation? I mean that the flow field will changed because of the deformation of the pipes.

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In that case , you need to do a 2 way FSI using a coupled system.

      @@AnsysTutor I tried to do that but didn't because there is no option to transfer Displacment by thermal expansion from Strutural to Fluent.

    sir how do analyze one fluid body and three solid bodies to heat transfer in cfd?.is it possible?

    • @AnsysTutor
      @AnsysTutor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes possible, it can be done like this, you need to create different solids bodies inside the fluid media, and assign the materials to it. Put the boundary conditions to the walls of the solid bodies if have any, put the flow velocity and solve. If you want to discuss more about this simulation with us, you can reach us at ansystutor7@gmail.com. We would try to clarify all your questions.
