I’m curious what newcomers think of this. There’s a reason why one piece is so popular, so beloved. There’s a lot of these sorta anime’s that don’t take themselves too serious that are fun to get into. Highly recommend
it's going to be a series actually, 8 one hour episodes and they're gonna cover the first 50 episodes of the anime, which is currently at 1060+ episodes.
I also know nothing about this story, but it comes highly recommended by my nephews. It's my Bday today so a reaction vid from you beautiful ladies is a great gift.

Hello! I've been a One Piece fan for about 15-16 years now. I caught up to the weekly serialization of the manga on chapter 485 and soon it's going to be releasing chapter 1087. It's crazy to me that we're finally at a point in this 25+ year run where we're looking at a live action adaptation drop in two months. This season is meant to cover the first 100 chapters, which is considered the prologue for the story as a whole. The showrunners and cast are all big fans of the story, are part of the community and have gone through great lengths to show how much of a passion project this is for all of them. The creator, Oda, has written letters to us saying that he knows this is probably his last chance to get this story adapted to a more accessible medium and out to those who wouldn't have experienced it otherwise. I just wanted to say that it genuinely makes me very happy to see others who have never heard of or seen One Piece watching this trailer and get genuinely curious or excited for it because I can tell you with full honesty... One Piece is the greatest story you've never read. It's a very heartwarming and thought provoking action adventure story full of crazy world building and amazing, dynamic characters that will make you fall in love with the found family trope. It's a world where being a pirate can mean any number of things from person to person and how you should chase your dreams no matter how big or out of reach they may feel (even with arms that stretch lol). I hope you guys give it a genuine chance with an open mind and heart. And when you get hungry for more the community will be ready to help you dive in!!

One piece is the best selling japanese manga of all time, which started in 1997 and going strong till this day... Entering into the final saga of the story in 2023. It is one of the best fantasy adventure epics with one if the greatest fantasy stories ever... And arguably the best world building from every aspect. It's really a very fun adventure... With wholesome lovable characters and with a lot of heart in it.... And a lots and lots and lots of creativity, adventure and one of the best world building in all of fiction. But that's not all... It deals also with great lovable, complex characters, deeper, darker themes, mystery, history, and many many more..... Inspite of its apparent light-hearted humor n goofy style on the surface... It's emotional to an extent where I who doesn't cry much, everytime tear up due to lovable characters , just by looking at a drawing of an Event of the story. It plays with our emotions and we'll be fully invested in the characters, story, plot. Adventure, mystery and much more... It addresses many many dark real world themes like rascism, slavery, classism, feeedom, authoritarianism, anarchy, false narratives, misinformation, historical, cultural, socioeconomic nuances, war, cycle of hatred, parental sacrifice, child abuse, loss, trauma n coping mechanisms, generational baggage, government conspiracies, political power struggles, and many many more... deeply in a very nuanced manner. It has everything in it... Done to near perfection. And everything is connected in one piece. The story is so great that even after 25 years it's running strong and every recent chapter felt like it's the best one yet... And to maintain and deliver at that level, with not only consistency but also quality, writing, plot, story, storyboarding, creativity, humor, emotions, locations, fantasy, geography, inworld history, and many many more aspects and everything is interconnected. This teaser doesn't even show 1% of what one piece actually is about..., And hopefully they'll release more material,.... And the series actually turn out good... And new audience enjoy it. On the surface level it looks goofy, fun, pirate adventure which it is... But along with that, the depth, the different real themes it explores, the world, the complexities, the personal stories, the high stake emotions, the Lovable characters, the larger than life conflicts, the wonderful diverse lived in world, the one of the if not THE BEST world building in fiction, history of different places, over arching world history, one of the most complex and intruiging mysteries, fantastical settings, so many diverse livedin fantastical locations with their own subcultures, social, economic, societal, historical aspects, their own issues, and most of all everything in that world is interconnected so seemlessly, some times into centuries before the current story began... And many many more... The long form storytelling of one piece is the best part of it where, the foreshadowings, setups, and payoffs, reveals occur many years apart... Leaving breadcrumbs of hints towards the mystery in the path for us the audience, so that when things get revealed they give one of the most satisfying experiences... And this becomes more and more enjoyable as the story goes forward. The season 1 of the live action adaptation is just a glimpse into it all covering the prologue to the story to come hereafter. One piece is not a typical shonen. Its not about the fights. No one watches one piece for fights alone. But what makes the one piece fights great is the buildup to it, the stakes, the emotions, what the conflict means to the characters... the mystery, world building, the exploration of different themes, ideologies, and perspectives, the adventure itself, the fun, fantastic humor, and capturing the childlike innocence, but also not limiting itself to that.... But everything else sounds amazing. So is the something you'd recommend reading now, because we do genuinely love fantasy. Is this a book too or just a manga? I've never read a manga before.

Also, The one piece netflix main trailer has just dropped. So, check that out and check it out, hopefully it turns out decent, then that would be a good entry point into this wacky silly but epic fantasy adventure world of one piece. Neverthless, manga is always great... and you can always start reading it. It's quite captivating from the get go, it's easier to get into even for people who are not used to the manga.

One piece lures you in by being cute and funny but then it rips ur heart with the most saddening stories that masterfully explore themes like poverty, loss, racism, loneliness, abuse. It’s a meme at this point that people sob their ass off reading one piece then laugh hysterically, then cry again

Great reaction it is actually a series though the first season will cover the first Arc called East blue and the eight episodes one hour each and as probably many have already said has one of the best stories in anime of all time. Super excited for it hopefully they can do it justice with the time in each episode given but I trust Oda so I think it'll be awesome.
