appreciate your views on this property. We are thinking about staying at HHV .. about 9 months ago we stayed at Sheraton Waikiki and loved it. We are looking at staying 4 nights.
We've been eyeing this up for an upcoming trip. We originally wanted to go to Aulani.. but the price was really high and not close to some things we wanted to do. But is it so big that its crazzy busy? The rooms looked like they need updating thats for sure. 26th floor is way to high for my liking.. around 6th is fine for me :)
I didn't focus on the kid activities, so I can't say for sure. I remember the entire resort was definitely geared for both adults and children. I think they will have a blast. Best place to check would be their website. I hope you enjoy your stay!
For these kind of amenities and location of an actual resort I don't mind paying a resort fee. It's when you check into a small motel or hotel with the only amenity being an exercise room that used to be a closet that consists of two dumbbells and a broken treadmill and they want to charge you a "resort" fee that bothers me.

Hi Anita. Glad you enjoyed the video! The beach is good for swimming. It is calm and safe closer to the sand. There are lots of rocks and natural formations. Its not just sand and water like some of the islands in the Caribbean but generally no issues swimming. There are tons of people surfing out in the distance as well. I havent tried snorkling but I know the hotel offers that as one of the activities via their "Port Hilton". You can also check out some local places that do tours all over Oahu. In case you wanted more. I hope this helped answer some of your question and hope you have a great time! Let me know what you think of the place when you are back. I would love to hear your opinion. Be aware they charge $69 to self park, and $79 to valet your car nightly. Great place if you got kids, but I would go further down the street if you want a better experience. Outrigger would be my recommendation
Try renting a car from the Enterprise at the hotel address next time. They could offer half price on self parking. But I agree that Outrigger location is better. I have to walk long distances with my children every day to the restaurants and go shopping.😃
Waikiki beach sand is not natural. It was shipped in from another beach. Waikiki beach is very crowded. Not the best place if you are looking serenity.

Stayed in Lagoon Tower last month for a week.
1st time back to Oahu since I lived in Wahiawa from 90-92.
love it,i used to live five minutes away,iam missing Hawaii,i will move back in the future.

I used to live on the 9th floor of the waipuna condominiums on Ena Rd. In the 70s. Very good location not far from the Hawaiian village.
Nice view but I wouldn't say the room is "modern". It looks more like a typical 3 star double tree or Best Western

Is the lagoon section / beach open to non-guests?
Yes it is. You are free to hang out there. The Lagoon does have a lot of guest activities but anyone can use it.

Is the beach at this hotel swimmable?
Yes you can definitely swim at the beach. It's not as clear as the Caribbean and has rock formations and etc but i had no issues swimming at all.

All of the restaurants on the property will charge to your room.
