I love the irony of the game where the only way Stanley gets his freedom is by WILLINGLY being under someone else's control. I like to think it's about being able to get through something you don't want to do to be able to never have to do it again. Or the fact that no matter what you do, society will still make you follow rules. This game is cray y'all and I'm so glad y'all experienced it! I'm also glad that you got all the screwy endings BEFORE you did the actual one
I think it's more along the lines of what the female narrator says during the museum ending: as long as you are playing the game, you have no real free choice, even when you think you do. Also, added irony: as soon as Stanley steps outside, supposedly free from the mind control and free to do anything he wants, you can't move freely anymore, but you are watching a cutscene.
Great games recommend to play: -What Remains of Edith Finch (highly recommend! Very chilled and story based.) -PC might also be on PlayStation too -The Beginner’s Guide (From the same creator as The Stanley Parable - Davey Wreden’s newest game, more linear, very story based, has an amazing story too, will make you cry.) - only PC -Gone to the Rapture (Also quite chilled and story based.) -PC or PlayStation -Unraveled (first or second. Even though they have different stories, I recommend to play the first first.) -PlayStation
Something you have to learn when playing PC games - always - always - first go to the graphics menu and pump it up to ultra and your desktop resoultion, typically between 1920x1080 or higher 2560x1440 or 4k which is 3840x2160. So that graphics look the way it should if you have a decent PC. From looking at the game it is set to ultra low :D This is also probably the reason Amelia had problems looking at it. VSync is another option to compensate motion sickness. So please - always go once to the graphics menu before starting a game.
Additional tipp: If you like to play with controller - get a XBOX One Controller (or Elite). This works with every PC game out of the box, this is the default Controller for PCs.
Bryan: "there is no longer a door?!" You: "What is this trickery?!" Me: "A simple mechanic used to show game design" Everyone reading this: "ugh, shanustheanus, your reply is as dumb as your username".
The humor somewhat reminds me of "A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". It's quirky, but quite loveable indeed. (Not to mention you guys are indeed very lovely, stay pawsitive) Also the cuteness is so powerful ❣ 2:13:40
I played the Stanely Parable, but I haven't played it in a while. I'm trying to get the "Go Outside" achievement; you get it by not playing the game for five years.
For years, I'd thought I'd learned everything I could about The Stanley Parable... ...And then Amelia found *ferns* in the Freedom Ending (1:53:47), only NOW do I finally understand what it meant in the Confusion Ending This game is as deep as a rabbit hole...
You two should definitely play more! I have a couple endings in particular that I'm looking forward to seeing. Hint: On the lift ride to the phone, jump off onto the catwalk.
@Tad Cooper lmao I understand why you'd say that but nah it's not cringe to say this game is one of the most thought-provoking pieces of media in a while. It has more to say about life than most movies lately.
@Tad Cooper Lol, kiddo? Don't be condescending. I'm a screenwriting and philosophy university graduate working as a producer in the film business. I know what I'm talking about bud
@Tad Cooper I don't care enough about my youtube account to change the pic I chose when I was 9 sorry I have better things to do. Making a cover of a meme song doesn't mean I watch the show? I'm a fan of sonic, Pokemon, anime, video games - a lot of things. So are all the adults who make that media, which I also do. Care to try being a little less judgmental when you've done nothing useful with your life and choose to spend it attempting to sound cooler than people on the internet?
Okay its probably too late but some FPS "walking simulators" type games have a show reticle option in the menus. It can help people with issues of motion sickness when playing or viewing. The use this a lot more in VR.
The Stanley Parable aka Confusion - The Game aka Meta - The Game I love their reaction to all the mindfuckery going on in what's one my favourite games of all time :D
Just dropped by to say thank you for your work. This weekend I completed DBH in one sitting as I just couldn't leave it. Days after and I'm still in the process of digesting it. Connor by far my favorite character, his inner conflict resonated and mirrored my own. Why give a toaster emotions to begin with? Why make it look like a human unless you intend to bang it? But they made them sentient so I had to save them all. Its a weird problem to create to begin with. Lots of food for thought. Merry Christmas and all that jazz,
You definitely need to try The Beginner's Guide from the same author who made the SP. It's a short and rather linear walking-simulator game. Anybody who falls into the category of "content creation" and has past experience of artistic performing, story telling or dealt with audiences will enjoy this journey.
If you want to really go insane, you should get the Divine Art ending. You'll go insane half way through and pass through insanity to an ascended enlightened state to get it. And by you, I mean you, not Stanley.
didnt know they played this, sad that im not a stream watcher kinda guy, well all i can say is good luck with streaming and wish you the best guys. connor best character
Bryan Dechart, the games I recommend you should play is Outlast 1, 2 and Whistleblower , FarCry Primal, Attack on Titan or Heavy Rain. That’s all the games you should play, they’re pretty good to play
This was actually so enjoyable to listen to while doing stuff for school hahahhahah.Ima still watch it again so i can see what the game is about hahhahah.
I'm kinda early so another "walking simulator" type game I think you guys should play is "what remains of edith finch", one of my favourite games of the decade. It's pretty short and I think you guys would enjoy it.
YES one of those underrated masterpieces with a unique story telling and an emotional rollercoaster of a game. So well done and there is a warmth to it and a charm you rarely see.
This game would have probably been less stressful if you didn’t pause so much in between walking. The game is lined up quite well so you can hear the Narrator talk more often.

I haven't watched the video yet, but did they get the broom closet ending? The broom closet ending is my favorite
they did go in there and stayed for a while but eventually moved on. haven't finished the full video yet though.

@@RobSup I too, find this concerning.
Bryan: **overly enjoying the crazy goofy narrator. Playing and bouncing along and having a wonderful time.**
Amelia: **Having a panic attack**

The only two ways to play the game lol
Bryan: * escapes *
Narrator: " Stanley would meet his violent death"
Bryan: * starts walking backwards *

Yes please! I need these two to be overwhelmed by emotions with What Remains Of Edith Finch! My absolute favourite walking simulator
The Witness would be way too long I think.
