@@Actkqk3 huh, calling bypassing old mechanic (it is based on titan quest for your info, which was published in like 2004) a cheat.... well, is PLUGY a cheat then for D2? Is it really good in a game with rich crafting experience to have no separate space for crafting materials? As jojos souls would say : No. No. No. No.

The primary reason they named on the forums was actually a problem that would occur in multi player. If you had infinite stash you could have the other players load your stash in multiplay and thus slow them down significantly depending on their pc specs. Because grim dawn does not have dedicated servers it's impossible to outsource that data except to the host pc... and that would cause issues. another reason is the engine limitations. it's an engine from 2004 and thus pretty dated... overhauling the stash system should be enormous amount of work and i would rather see them spend this time on another expansion or a new game.

It's basically the same as Item Assistant / the last mod, but it has additional feature, such as copying item directly to and from character inventory, and "crafting" items, whether it's MI, uniques, or legendary. It could also Craft consumables like Potion of Clarity

I have exact thoughts about mods, but recently tried Grim Internals. Now, i cant play this game without it. I can't stress this enough, health bars (i also edited them to static colors, green for me, blue for pets, red enemies and purple bosses) and auto-pickup feels so natural, it relaxed my eyes and made me enjoy the game 10 times more (characters blend in with terrain so much, without health bars, i cant see whats going on)
yeah grim internals should be part of the original game.

man after playing this game for so long, even after seeing the item name when it's dropped and a slight of hand i can see it's stat.
that hp mod is good because you can see if there's any enemy lurking around since most of the time at eldritch realm they hide and poof teleport to you.or a jerk that loves to charge at you.
that storage mod is godly, *drool* mine was full with a random stuff and sometimes i need to throw them out.

Thanks for the video. I have been using GD Item Assistant (which is fantastic if you ever consider playing another class) and Rainbow (although figuring out all those colors is confusing at first). I plan to definitely try out Grim Internals (even though with the latest huge patch they did integrate a few of those life enhancing benefits right into the game itself). Thanks for showing them on your video.

i am a poe and diablo veteran and i just started GD...about this discussion of the last mod being a cheat in my opinion it certainly is because it Works like a trainer as it alters your char gamefile to store items in other way
other people may think that all of them are because they work by injecting codes inside the game even if they are not altering your char files but waiting the devs to create QoL adds takes a lot from them so i won't judge this part since most of them are posted on the GD forums
That last mod looks amazing, all that item management options at my fingertips

Thanks for the informaton. I'll have to look into rainbow and the inventory mod. I've been juggling gear in my stash tabs for so long and takes me a while to figure out which is good for new builds.

A bit on warning for Grim Internals... they will disable steam cloud saving... which is fine if you only play on one computer but I play on multiple computers... so you will want to sync it you need to launch Grim Dawn normally to sync it.. however if one computer have out of date save then steam cloud save will upload the out of date save and overwrite your proper save. My save file was completely messed up because of it, because I keep all my components in my shared stash and I had a save where it have all the stash unlock and another that doesn't have all the stash unlocked... Steam cloud save overwrote all my save with all the unlocked stash and as a result i lost all my components.

Grim Down is one of those games that get better with every level you get.
Fantastic progression system. Diablo 3 or even 2 are kids in comparison.
Just wish it was full voiceacted this would bring the experience to a whole other level.

I don't use Item Assistant (IA) so take this with a grain of salt, but I've heard it's a mod you really need to be careful with/understand everything it does. What I've heard is that it collects data about your computer and your program usage from your computer and sends it out. Just an FYI to future users to do a little research before installing.

I wonder if the devs have the same view point on health bars that GGG use to have. Rainbow, health bars and auto loot small items is something I don't understand not being in the options. You can argue people are too lazy, but I'll ask you what's the difference is between lazy and quality of life
GDIA should come with a pretty hefty disclaimer. It engages in automatic undisclosed data collection. Also, if you give them your email address, which they are now asking for, you are "literally an idiot". If you still wish to use the program, which is honestly quite nice, be sure to block the domains they use after installing.
Havn't checked it out yet. Would it be possible to completely remove internet access for it? Would be a good option unless you needed the cloud backup.

@@davidvanbogelen Or in short, expanding your storage. Yes it is the same, doesn't matter if you pay for it or not, limiting storage in a game that revolves around collecting items is stupid.
Besides it is just convenience, if i wanted storage without the program i would use mule characters, it the same thing in PoE, before i bought stash tabs i had bunch of mule characters that held my extra stuff.

The item assistant looks extremely useful as a guy with 2 level 100 characters, but I also see a problem with it. Eventually you're going to have every unique item stored away in there. I think it can end up taking some of the fun out of the game if you always have the best items for every level on a new character. Such a playthrough would consist of blasting through the game unchallenged and then having all the gear you need as soon as you hit level 94. Then you go defeat the crucible and the shattered realm and you're already done. Then again, it's a single player game, so if that's what you wanna do then more power to you.
It depends on the player actually I collect the best items in the game as a trophy not as a equipment because it gives me nerdgasm Everytime I see my well organized full set item collection.

People having qualms about the third mod in a single player game but dont complain that you have to purchase stash tabs in PoE which is arguably much worse.
True, and i do think that 4 tabs is just way to few when you first start but the game is free. So in any comparison it would be poe with like £30 worth of stash tabs
Why do people consider the last mod cheating, does it have other functions that Pohx didn't explain or people think it offers too much stashing/QoL. People use stash/inventory expansion mods in almost every game that they are applicable to. (Skyrim, Divinty 2 etc.)

Lack of search / filter in inventory and crafter menu are actually the main issues that I have with the game. While I would prefer a better ingame solution, also for component application, the Item Assistant is a perfect workaround for now.
I personally believe it is not cheating at all to have infinite stash available through a mod that gives you greater quality of life than the in-game infinite stash (which is a thing). In this case the game developers left the availability for infinite stash in the game in the form of just muling from extra characters. Their design decision itself may have intended for limited stash to be a part of gameplay, but the outcome of the actual design is that it really isn't. It ends up just being an annoyance instead. Furthermore, calling this cheating is essentially attempting to speak on the intent of the developer, which they ought to be perfectly capable of doing if they want to, and yet they made modding very accessible for this game. This tells me that it is certainly NOT their intent to even prevent cheating. They have no real incentive to doing so, as you have already paid for their game, and they are not maintaining a live economy. They've provided tools (such as hardcore mode as an example) for players to voluntarily opt-in to an increased challenge that is enforced by the game, but they left in the tools that allow for infinite stash space via muling. What I take from this is that the developers' design of the game is such that the player is empowered to determine what they consider to be a fair way to play for themselves, whether that was their intent or not.
If a game can and DOES explicitly limit something such that having access to it would be outside of the scope of gameplay provided by the game, then you would be cheating by using some alternative access to that something. I can see a case where someone cares a lot about the metagame of knowing what to pick up and keep and what to leave on the ground, but Grim Dawn has no ladder. It has no leagues and there is no community I know of that provides these things as a third-party service, although I wouldn't be surprised to find I'm wrong about that last one and just haven't found it yet. For these reasons, the amount and type of gear you pick up has no real significance unless you are engaging in some sort of epic self-imposed challenge. In that case, you can define cheating as you like, since you are effectively playing a different game than the one everyone else is by layering extra rules on top of the existing game.
EDIT: I personally use no mods, because I'm literally to lazy to bother with them. I have a hundred half-baked characters already, and I tend to just play with whatever drops, hardly ever using things out of my stash to level with, because it's filled with later-game stuff that I "might" use, but will most likely just gather dust, since I'll for get about it anyway. It's more fun to me to just occasionally dip into my stash here and there. I certainly use it for components and having some nice leveling sets for certain stages of leveling, but other than that I ignore it.

5:48 D2 has had that stash app since the dawn of time. It's called ATMA. Nobody called it cheating back then. Not sure why they would now. Way better than creating mule characters to hold your extra items.
people call it cheating because the mod is not only a stash but can also create and alter items. You can literally create every item with perfect roles with that mod, which a lot of people do. Not like I care too much, it's mostly a single player game and if people wanna cheat in their single player game that's fine by me, but it's still cheating if you use those functions.

can you pleaseee make a tut on how to install GDIA? i tried it once and lost my whole stash bc another tutorial said to copy my saves over from the cloud... and i still cant get it to work
Hey Pohx, thanks so much for letting me know about this mod! I've been trying to figure out how to properly move the info on the left lower since my summoned pets tend to overlap it. Where did you adjust the internal notes to lower it? I havent been able to find it on the forum or figure it out myself. Thanks!

I have become so lazy playing Grim Dawn when it comes to storing items, that i usually pick up only the mats and then whenever i need something, i have trading network of people, i supply mats, they cover items for me being stupid without Item Assistant :)

Two quick questions: 1) will mods work if I bought the game and launch it through Steam? 2) Does this affect my ability to play multiplayer, or will the other person also have to have the exact same mods, etc.?)
crate entertainment should give us official mods support and steam workshop so that our save files don't get corrupted and we loses our precious high level characters because we loaded the game normally instead of selecting mods. Or at least make it so that the save files don't get corrupted on loading with the wrong mod. It literally killed all my interest for the game when my lvl 64 character got corrupted because i didn't load the game in proper order and there is no way to recover back that character.

same thing , grim internals works with mods atleast from my experience , rainbow mod works 100% , and item assistant can read multiple stashes , you just need to select the mod you're using and it will work.
I would love to have that third one in diablo 3.

Are Minions/Summoned Skeletons summoned = Pets ? Are they classed as pets ?
Yeah it should say "pet" on the skill, otherwise it can be a player scaled summon like a wind devil which is not a pet

Do I need to have those mods open all the time to use them and how much does it affects my pc power usage? (cpu/ram) Cuz I can barley run grim dawn in 1920x1080 on the lowest settings

The reason i don't see the Item collection mod as cheating is rather simple.. People LOVE to pickup everything shiny or are trying to collect everything in the game.. '' Holy Grail in D2'' is a good exempel of this.. Games with a fuck ton of loot like PoE and Grim dawn shouldn't have a limited stash tab to begin with.. It doesn't add anything to the game.

This works even online in multiplayer? Is this bannable? I mean, this is like a trainer in Diablo1. You backpack items and call them up when you need them.

back in my days when we played diablo2 autopickup was a bannable reason use of third party program that automates things. so things have changed?
It's a single player game that is open to mod support, I'd say lots of things have changed
You haft to use a new .exe shortcut for the mod to work? My normal shortcut dosent load the mod :) if I add the mod on steam it worked fine by opening it from there (grim internals)

New player here... what's worth saving in the item assistant? Anything that's blue or purple? Or should I be waiting until higher levels to even worry about it?
Some Items at low levels can be saved for new characters till you can access items like Lokkar's Set. Of course you'll probably want to save any set items really for new characters that you want to make. Myself I also save any blue or purple item that has Mythical in the name. Want to take a look at like a item database check out GrimTools website.
If you play HC, def save items with good health rolls and resists for levelling. Apart from that yep blues and purps and things with plus skills to skills you like and think you’ll play (rings, chest armours etc can roll with plus skills). Monster infrequent (some of the green) that modify skills you like to use...although these can mostly be farmed pretty easy if you need for a particular build.
Ok so I fked myself by playing the mc instead of custom game so what am I suppose to do? Start from scratch or is there a way to transfer my character to custom game?

i installed the rainbow filter , then the grim dawn internals , but the rainbow doesent work (i just extracted files as told) , do i have to press / enable smth somewhere (like i have to ctrl+f5 for internals) or should i just try to reinstall ?
I dunno, in a game about collecting items an infinite stash that lets you search for specific items SHOULD be apart of the game. It's actually fixing a problem in my opinion.

I see cheating when smb uses mod where u can use rare epic common magic items on any lvl, what means that I can equip common things and it's equal to epic by the stats it gives to u.

Sorry Grim Internals adding those little health bars over mob and pet heads is so gross looking. Makes the game look awful, I could never use this.

No Im sorry. But I believe using any 3rd party software should not be allowed. They made a game a certain way so it should be played that way.... technically cheating.
From the way you talk I can assume that youre the casual of the casual type player but yes it is still a cheat no debating that
