As I noted in the description this was literally one of the first things I recorded on my new interface. Since then I have improved the sound of the trumpet but here's another go at the audio from the shop. Please check this out as well! I'll pin this comment. th-cam.com/video/JqdIIGO3E6w/w-d-xo.html
I play on a Bach Strad reverse leadpipe 43 bell (I've had mine for about 25 years), and this 43B sounds completely different than the standard version. That bronze bell completely changes the sound.
I was hoping you would play some Mariachi music. ;) Liked the sound of the horn and it is amazing looking. I don't see me playing it but was great to see and hear it.
So many horns. So little time 😉 Everything does effect everything. Cause and effect. Any modification in design, metals, alloys, density, etc will have an effect whether positive or negative. There have been some interesting alloys being adapted by skilled artisans in trumpet design and manufacturing and with the innovations in computer modeling and acoustic measurement software the means are now available by scientific data to actually compile useful information to determine just much those minimal factors actually improve a horn’s performance parameters.
Sounds crispy clear to me. I like to play mostly with 1 C type of a mouthpiece. However, that often sounds too dark with my student horn for the notes I mainly play(middle and low register). Maybe this kind of a horn helps to compensate my sound being too dark, maybe ?
absolutely would be a great match for a larger mouthpiece! Be sure to check out the follow up video I did as well th-cam.com/video/JqdIIGO3E6w/w-d-xo.html

I like the rich tone of that horn.
I played this horn at the NAMM show a few years ago and was very impressed with the sound and how open it plays.
Love the variation on the Charlier! Totally works and sounded great. Great video and an intriguing horn.

Beautiful instrument
Beautiful horn! I have a few friends who use this horn for mariachi and they absolutely love it. Hopefully I can try one for myself soon.
If we still have it we'll bring it to TMEA!
It definitely has that Mariachi vibe. A real spin doctor, but sounds amazing across the spectrum. That's a bad... Horn right there.
Just Gorgeous!
Also called “the big red!”

I need one mariachi trumpet
Bach Stradivarius
You would not have to have a lock stratus 43LR lightweight reverse lead pipe in your shop would you? I’m looking for one…
autocorrect fail?
@@austincustom haha yes. Sorry
I meant to ask if you had Bach Strad 43 lightweight reverse lead pipe in your shop.
www.austincustombrass.biz (for our current stock)
このサウンド好きです。しかし、楽器が良いから、というより演奏者が上手いからだと思います。
Still no spit valve on the third slide. I don’t understand why Bach doesn’t have one
they have a slide on the slide that pops out so you can dump out the spit
Mucho Pesos
not really for a horn that's been played 3-4 times total by the previous owner.
