The fact that we still have to settle for having Top Players Golf instead of the far superior Neo Turf Masters (AKA Big Tournament Golf) is an absolute crime against humanity. What a damn shame.

A bigger atrocity is the lack of Art of Fighting 2 on all these mini consoles, it’s the best one of the whole trilogy.

On the NeoGeoMini there was a problem with KOF 2000 and 2001 character select slowing down and skipping Dpad input.
Can you check if this problem has been improved in MVSMini since the SoC has changed?

I like the red a lot, I have the international. But man those controllers, ooof. Thank goodness for the 8-bitdo. Might pick this up if I can find it for dirt cheap. Thanks for sharing! :))

Thank you for dedicating another great video for us to enjoy. I like the MVS Mini. I mean, it maybe a unit that was late to the game compared to the others that exist in the market, but the little unit that could does have value and like pretty cool for my taste. I feel that gamers will still enjoy it for what it's worth. 8^

No MVS rom versions? What were they thinking? That is misleading.
Doesn’t really bother me really, they’re the same games with a few extra options.
@@Muryohken, the only issue I have is that they missed the mark or made a half effort to really make this look like a "Big Red." I compared the images of this versus a Big Red. I bought this as I have nostalgia for the big red Neo Geo cabs of the 90s. I have a Neo Geo AES, a Neo Geo ASP, and most of these games for the PC. I'm still ok with it though.
I’d prefer an mvsx maxi but this is still cool and 8bitdo pad is so good I would definitely understand it making it 100% better

There definitely are some different games added but it’s not a completely new lineup.

Are you sure there isn’t a slot somewhere to plug in a MVS cart? Because there are games I want to play that aren’t included. Maybe you could try out one of the hacks to see if they still work. Please.

Weird question, and probably a bad one, since you seem to be more of a purist. But is there a way to remap the 8bitdo button layout? I know it’s the original and the “intended way” to play the controller. But after 20 years of playing with the “modern” setup, that current controllers have, and these things have too, it’s very rough to get used to the 8bitdo/neogeo cd layout. Some games on the mini allow me to remap buttons, which is cool. But others just don’t give us the option anymore.
There probably isn’t a way, but it doesn’t hurt to ask someone who’s more in depth with the subject.

Not weird at all, in fact, I should probably do a short short video about it. You CAN in fact change the layout with the 8bit do controller: direct from the user manual: “press and hold select + down to switch the button layout. The Power LED will blink once when switching,
and it will be saved automatically”
@@neocveragot it! Thank you! Didn’t read the entire manual when I got it. But a visual guide is waaay easier to follow. I also looked at your way to adapt the 8bitdo for the Dreamcast and will be getting a USB2 to work with the wingman haha.

This would great as a little device to sit on your desk to take a 5-minute break and play Metal Slug or some other game, but for nothing else sadly
So the only difference is casing and interface/ once hylo 2.1.3 is on I guess all same as older neo mini

In the MVS mini, Inside the game can you change the language to english?
Depends on the game. Some games had language settings in options. If not then it would be in Japanese.

Excellent vid. Now can you hack it please to add some extra games (get it to about 80 Neo geo games in the main menu). Tutorial online. A lot of us want to know if it hacks the same as the other versions. Thanks

I’m not that guy. I can play a game and do what I want while playing so it runs well for me. I have so many other ways to play neogeo, the mini isn’t my first choice but the games run well enough for me to enjoy.
Huge Neo Geo fan here, I have the Arcade Stick Pro but I held off on the mini due to it not meeting my basic expectations. How does the company not realize how synonymous their brand is with micro switch controllers. Anything less is simply not accepted. I would have brought this mvs mini had it fixed just a few basic things. I'm really disappointed that this is a reskinned mini with 5 extra games and horrible unico branding all over it. Great review though brother so at least there's one W here.

It's easy ish. I even built a cushion menu for mine a few years back. I have a video on my channel
