I hear you! And, you know, another good thing about leaving gender open is that nobody has to be pigeonholed into certain roles in the story. Society often conditions us to expect women to be protected and men to be protectors, for example, but I think people of all genders sometimes like to be in both roles, you know? So I try to have a variety of that can include everybody. That being said, I do think that in the future, I might do audios with specific audiences in mind, not just F4M or F4F but also non-binary and trans listeners... we'll see! There are lots of possibilities!

Got to admit, I do feel for her on why she is doing these tests....A broken heart tends to be rather difficult to heal, but hopefully she can learn in a safe way that while Humans are dangerous....we aren't without our good sides to make up for our bad. We are the best and worst of pretty much everything, I believe. Good and bad, light and dark, but which way we lean toward....that is all up to the individual as each one is different from another. Sometimes in big ways, other times in only slight/minor ways.

But at the time, I felt supremely unqualified to decide what a Xarrin would look like and just went with something I thought would look nice in a thumbnail.

It's funny you bring up the asari, because I've been thinking that this scenario makes humans into the equivalent of the asari... in the sense of being the hot -blue- aliens that everybody wants. Not on any deeper level, of course. But imagining that Zarrins are similar to the asari is really pretty cool. :D
Honestly, I think it's whatever scenario you would get the most enjoyment out of. In my head as I performed it, I imagined just a regular person. There's nothing that says Zarrin standards of beauty align with ours in any meaningful way. Maybe their color perception is entirely different from ours. She stopped the test when they got to blue, but maybe they see colors that we've never dreamed of, and so when they look at us, they see an entirely different sight than we see. Or maybe they find an entirely different body type attractive. Many human cultures today value a slim build, but maybe for Zarrins, it's a sign of health to have extra weight, and they all tend to be rather more slender than us. I don't know, I'm just making that up as one possibility; it could really be anything. But that's why I think each listener can make it up for themself and imagine whatever situation they find most enjoyable.

13:41 : some are but most aren’t and honestly some humans are crap and can’t be trusted for long term or heck even short term companionship but we humans still try to find the right person but some of us just aren’t that good. while “I” might be quite nice and friendly humans are complex and sometimes to need to be weary. The fact the so many of your kind have been enthralled by my species without encroaching the not so nice one honestly has me baffled.
Well, since they aren't really *supposed* to be coming to earth in the first place, there's probably not much of a reporting system for those that did encounter one of the bad ones. It might only be the Zarrins who encountered non-violent humans who would really be able to get their stories back. Or maybe the Zarrins are so technologically advanced that run-ins with violent humans were easy to escape and barely registered as a blip on their radar before they moved on to the love of their life. I like that idea better 😁 but then, I've always been an optimist.
Very. There are scriptwriters who are gracious enough to share their work publicly and allow anyone who follows their rules to perform them. This script, for example, can be found on the ASMRscripthaven subreddit and is extremely popular. I've seen many variations of it... though I didn't watch any of them until after my own was posted, so that I wouldn't inadvertently copy anyone else.

I'm sure many people have been recording it. That tends to happen with really good scripts, and this one also happens to be less demanding in terms of the amount of sfx required to be able to follow what's happening. I added some extra effects, because I like the feeling of a greater soundscape in my audios, but it's definitely a draw to find a script that's not only well-written, but easy to edit. This is the first time I've posted this audio, so it's not a re-upload. I think it's just a very popular, well-written script. ❤️

Honestly, I thought about that when I read the script, too, but the Zerrins seem to perceive things differently, so I think they probably have different conventional standards of beauty than we do. Who knows, maybe they're attracted to totally different things than what we would think of. Like... the shape of your fingertips, idk! Could be anything! 😄
That was my guess, but when I say the thumbnail, they look more like space elves. It might be that whatever "pheremones" (humans don't have pheromones) she was noticing could have affected her perception. Then again, as they also have duller senses, it might be that they literally see humans differently, or they just have a different standard of beauty.
Considering that we will be spending a great deal of time together I would like to know more about your species, Zarins. What planet do Zarins come from and how similar is it to Earth? I would also be interested in the idea of us talking about things like our species cultures and exchange scientific information on different scientific topics.
This is interesting. I could write about how I like your voice and acting, but you already know that so I won't write anything about it here. (Lol) I could criticize a few details of the story itself a little. For example, the fact that touching and breathing the same air with creatures from another planet is incredibly reckless and dangerous. The fact that the composition and pressure of the atmosphere is suitable for both species makes such unprotected contact even more dangerous. This means that microorganisms that feel good in Earth conditions will also exist well and be transmitted on a spacecraft, and then they will infect other worlds. Biohazard is something that is often overlooked in these stories. Although of course I understand that this is ignored here for the sake of the story, so I will not write about such things in detail. I could write something like: "Take me with you, I don't want to live on this planet anymore!" But we come to listen to these audios to take our minds off the real world, not to be reminded of it. So I won't write anything about it. But one thing caught my attention in all of this. Something I want to write about. It is that her partner left simply because of the more attractive appearance of humans. She was abandoned to find something that felt more magical. How superficial and shallow was her feeling. Yes, relationships are hard work. And it doesn't happen otherwise. Relationships are not magic that will make you happy immediately and for the rest of your life without your efforts. But relationships can be magic. A real relationship in which work and patience are invested from both sides. The beautiful appearance of your partner will not make you happy in a relationship. Appearance is generally overrated. Of course, being beautiful is great and there is nothing to be ashamed of striving to be the best version of yourself. I'm not going to be the one to scold those who care about their appearance. But for a relationship, a real relationship, it doesn't matter. And if someone leaves you simply because they are looking for someone with a more pleasant appearance, then this person has never loved or appreciated you for who you are. Love yourself, no matter what others think of your appearance. You are more than what others think of you. Thank you.
I think you hit straight through to the heart of the audio, really, and the reason why I felt this script was elevated above something more basic, like a simple, cute story about an alien who crushes on a "gorgeous" human. Not that a script like that wouldn't also be fun and worthwhile, but I like the depth of this one because it opens up all the issues that you so eloquently detailed. In the end, I think that the ex is going to end up right where she started - in a relationship that takes lots of work, just on the other side of the galaxy and with even more cultural issues to get through. Hopefully she learns from that, and hopefully our alien scientist is able to move on in a healthy way from here. Thank you for pointing out something so important. ❤️

If I had realized how deeply many people would think about how she looks compared to humans, I'd have put more thought into her character art. But at the time, I felt supremely unqualified to decide what a Xarrin would look like and just went with something I thought would look nice in a thumbnail.

It's funny you bring up the asari, because I've been thinking that this scenario makes humans into the equivalent of the asari... in the sense of being the hot -blue- aliens that everybody wants. Not on any deeper level, of course. But imagining that Zarrins are similar to the asari is really pretty cool. :D

Honestly, I think it's whatever scenario you would get the most enjoyment out of. In my head as I performed it, I imagined just a regular person. There's nothing that says Zarrin standards of beauty align with ours in any meaningful way. Maybe their color perception is entirely different from ours. She stopped the test when they got to blue, but maybe they see colors that we've never dreamed of, and so when they look at us, they see an entirely different sight than we see. Or maybe they find an entirely different body type attractive. Many human cultures today value a slim build, but maybe for Zarrins, it's a sign of health to have extra weight, and they all tend to be rather more slender than us. I don't know, I'm just making that up as one possibility; it could really be anything. But that's why I think each listener can make it up for themself and imagine whatever situation they find most enjoyable.

13:41 : some are but most aren’t and honestly some humans are crap and can’t be trusted for long term or heck even short term companionship but we humans still try to find the right person but some of us just aren’t that good. while “I” might be quite nice and friendly humans are complex and sometimes to need to be weary. The fact the so many of your kind have been enthralled by my species without encroaching the not so nice one honestly has me baffled.
Well, since they aren't really *supposed* to be coming to earth in the first place, there's probably not much of a reporting system for those that did encounter one of the bad ones. It might only be the Zarrins who encountered non-violent humans who would really be able to get their stories back. Or maybe the Zarrins are so technologically advanced that run-ins with violent humans were easy to escape and barely registered as a blip on their radar before they moved on to the love of their life. I like that idea better 😁 but then, I've always been an optimist.

Very. There are scriptwriters who are gracious enough to share their work publicly and allow anyone who follows their rules to perform them. This script, for example, can be found on the ASMRscripthaven subreddit and is extremely popular. I've seen many variations of it... though I didn't watch any of them until after my own was posted, so that I wouldn't inadvertently copy anyone else.

I'm sure many people have been recording it. That tends to happen with really good scripts, and this one also happens to be less demanding in terms of the amount of sfx required to be able to follow what's happening. I added some extra effects, because I like the feeling of a greater soundscape in my audios, but it's definitely a draw to find a script that's not only well-written, but easy to edit.

Honestly, I thought about that when I read the script, too, but the Zerrins seem to perceive things differently, so I think they probably have different conventional standards of beauty than we do. Who knows, maybe they're attracted to totally different things than what we would think of. Like... the shape of your fingertips, idk! Could be anything! 😄
That was my guess, but when I say the thumbnail, they look more like space elves. It might be that whatever "pheremones" (humans don't have pheromones) she was noticing could have affected her perception. Then again, as they also have duller senses, it might be that they literally see humans differently, or they just have a different standard of beauty.

This is interesting.
I could write about how I like your voice and acting, but you already know that so I won't write anything about it here. (Lol)
I could criticize a few details of the story itself a little. For example, the fact that touching and breathing the same air with creatures from another planet is incredibly reckless and dangerous. The fact that the composition and pressure of the atmosphere is suitable for both species makes such unprotected contact even more dangerous. This means that microorganisms that feel good in Earth conditions will also exist well and be transmitted on a spacecraft, and then they will infect other worlds. Biohazard is something that is often overlooked in these stories.
Although of course I understand that this is ignored here for the sake of the story, so I will not write about such things in detail.
I could write something like:
"Take me with you, I don't want to live on this planet anymore!"
But we come to listen to these audios to take our minds off the real world, not to be reminded of it. So I won't write anything about it.
But one thing caught my attention in all of this. Something I want to write about.
It is that her partner left simply because of the more attractive appearance of humans. She was abandoned to find something that felt more magical. How superficial and shallow was her feeling. Yes, relationships are hard work. And it doesn't happen otherwise. Relationships are not magic that will make you happy immediately and for the rest of your life without your efforts. But relationships can be magic. A real relationship in which work and patience are invested from both sides. The beautiful appearance of your partner will not make you happy in a relationship. Appearance is generally overrated. Of course, being beautiful is great and there is nothing to be ashamed of striving to be the best version of yourself. I'm not going to be the one to scold those who care about their appearance. But for a relationship, a real relationship, it doesn't matter. And if someone leaves you simply because they are looking for someone with a more pleasant appearance, then this person has never loved or appreciated you for who you are.
Love yourself, no matter what others think of your appearance. You are more than what others think of you.

I think you hit straight through to the heart of the audio, really, and the reason why I felt this script was elevated above something more basic, like a simple, cute story about an alien who crushes on a "gorgeous" human. Not that a script like that wouldn't also be fun and worthwhile, but I like the depth of this one because it opens up all the issues that you so eloquently detailed. In the end, I think that the ex is going to end up right where she started - in a relationship that takes lots of work, just on the other side of the galaxy and with even more cultural issues to get through. Hopefully she learns from that, and hopefully our alien scientist is able to move on in a healthy way from here.
